Hi Freinds,I am in need of developing a metrome like in http://www.metronomeonline.com What I am bothering is I cannot sysncronize flash sounds with time intervals. setInterval is not working. is there any of guy who have another idea about how to syncronize (Play a sound in definete intervals) sounds with Flash??thanks-Nish

Syncronizing Mc With Mouse Help Please
hey guys, well this this http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UI61MCRU url is where my fla is located and blow is what i would like ur help with.
when u open the fla u will see 4 movie clips.
well i was wondering how can i syncronize the verticleslider_mc with the mouse and the testcylinder_mc with the verticle slider_mc when its on the pad1_mc.
ill exsplain in a 1 to number stage.
1 = when the mouse is over the verticleslider_mc and its at the y coordinates of 968.7 and it starts moving up from them coordinats ne where over the verticleslider_mc i am wanting the verticleslider_mc to play its animation at normal speed forward but once the mouse has reached the y coordinates of 784.0 while still over the verticleslider_mc i want the vertcleslider_mc animation to be at the last frame of its animation which it has a total number of frames of 75. and when the mouse is moved back down towards the y coordinates of 968.7 while obviously still over the verticleslider_mc i want the verticleslider_mc to play its same animation in reverse.
2 = now once that is sorted out when the testcylinder is at its coordinates on the pad1_mc and the verticleslider_mc is doin its action we hoefully can setup with the mouse as i mentioned i want that testcylinder_mc to play its animation frames which the total of that are 54 frame. but also that testcylinder_mc also has a few other mc's in it and i want them to start playing there animation at the same time and when the mouse is making the verticleslider_mc animation go in reverse or foward i also want the testcylinder_mc animation to go in reverse or foward to match the verticleslider_mc.
so basicly what im wanting to do is syncronize the verticleslider_mc animation with the up and down movement of the mouse while the mouse is hovering over the mc and then syncronize the testcylinder_mc animation with the verticleslider_mc animation when its going in reverse or foward.

u will see if u click on the testcylinder_mc and open the actions panel i have an onclip event hitest so when the user drags it over the pad1_mc the testcylinder_mc is placed in the coded position so i dont want the syncronization to be enabled untill the testcylinder_mc is in that position of the pad.
the testcylinder_mc wont be the only object that i want this syncronization to work with in the furture i will be adding more objects that will have the same animation as the testcylinder_mc and with same amount of frames so i hope the code would be easily editable for objects as well

Syncronizing FMSs
I have been given a research task by my boss. I am NOT (yet) an experienced FMS programmer, and I have been tasked with finding out how to do the following.
We need to collect live audio/video and screen capture data from numerous distributed sources all recording at the same time (the same event, actually) and securly collect it at multpiple locations, insuring that each location is fully syncronized with the other(s). The idea was to have complete sets of all the data stored on multiple servers, for a few reasons, including security, backup and load sharing.
Now, I gather that the best way to do this is by using one or two origin servers and using edge servers at the remote sites to do the load balancing. But everything that I have been able to find has been geared to the servers satisfying requests for data, not collecting data from the clients.
We are already using a FMS to collect data from multiple camera, microphone and screen capture feeds at a single physical location. Is expanding this to handle feeds from multiple distributed locations as simple as establishing a one or two origin server farm and setting up a series of edge servers to reroute the traffic? And if I use two origin servers, how do I insure that they stay mirrored and that data streams from a common event, coming in from different edge servers are all combined into a single event database?

Syncronizing Mc's To The Sound
I'm stuck.
How do I trigger the appearance of my mc's to the mc.position of a dynamically loaded mp3 sound object. I've already determine each position in seconds, but the coding necessary to trigger the appearance in sync on stage with the sound object is beyond me.

Im importing into a flash document video files with speech of various time length to play within flash. The problem is that once imported into flash the Voice is not in sync with the video anymore on some of the avi's there is a accumlative delay occuring as the video plays... is this a keyframe interval problem or a frame rtio problem... i do have the syncronize box checked!..
Any Tips from you GURUs?

Syncronizing Sound To An Animation
Well, I've been using flash for more than a year now, and most of my projects involve characters talking or animation/music. And for that stuff I've tried hard to keep the sounds syncronized, but I keep noticing that I can't. I tried out Flash MX 2004 Educational version at someone else's computer, and it comes with a syncronising feature, it plays sound and the frames don't slow down or anything. I have Flash MX Ver. 6.0, and it seems it doesn't have that feature.
What I'm trying to get to is:
Is there anything I can do to get that syncronizing thing?

Syncronizing Two Seperate Flash Files
Hello all...
I have two flash files in one html page. One is a transparent swf that I have loaded in a layer above regular html, and the second is most likely also going to be a transparent swf in a layer over regular html as well.
My dilemma is that I want one movie in one html layer to play out first, then after it has completed, to trigger the start of the second movie in the different layer. The first movie will kind of explain what you see in the second movie, so it kinda needs to play before the second one starts.
How do I do this?
(I know this may sound like booty kissing to get some help, but I absolutely love how helpful everyone is in this community. My last flash issue cost me two weeks of wasted time and I posted and had the solution in an hour... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this forum. What a time and lifesaver!!!)
Syncronizing Subwoofer With Music Like An Equalizer?
Well, I downloaded one of the equalizers I found on flashkit in the movies section, which had a equalizer running to a imported swf with a wav attached. But the only way it works is by user defined variables for each frequency level (18 different levels) on each frame (100+ frames).
I have no idea how anyone could set that many variables. Is there a script that did it for them? Another reason I was wondering is because in the Sound Loops section of FlashKit, there is hundreds if not thousands of WAV's using the same method.
Heres a Link to my template with the subwoofers syncronized to the beats, if you dont understand what I mean.
Can someone please explain the method one would go about to make a equalizer similar to the ones in the SoundLoops section.
[F8] Syncronizing Streaming Sound Problem
I’m teaching Flash to my 13yr old son. He encountered a problem we can’t seem to solve. Timing sounds to play with animation actions are not working for some weird reason. They appear to be correct on the timeline but when you play the movie, the sync is all wrong. The sounds are playing before the action even though they are streamed at the correct frame to coincide with the animation. We tried cutting and pasting to a new movie thinking the file may be corrupted, but that didn’t work.

Syncronizing Three Sperate SWF's To Load At The Same Time
I currently have three separate swf files embedded into an html page. They do not have any loading functions at this time, but I really need to find a way to have them all preload and start at the same time.
I'm using leftside.swf, mid.swf and rightside.swf
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

How Do I Disable All Sounds Including Background Music And Button Rollover Sounds?
Hey, you don't know how long I've been on this forum last night and no one was able to help me with this. I have no clue how to do this. Basically what I want to do is create a site with a bunch of buttons with a Over State Sounds and a Down State Sounds. I have done so already with the file I have been working on at home. Now, I also have background music playing on my flash site. I already have a button that says, turn off music which is using the stop all sounds command. But now, I want a button that disables all the sounds on the whole entire site including background music and button over and down state sounds. I have tried the stop all sounds action but that DOES NOT WORK. Another action that I tired was the globalsound action where it puts the volume to 0, but all that does is stop the background music. It doesn't kill the button over and down state sounds. So what action script would I need in this case? I have been looking for this action scrpt for hours on end and havn't had any luck with anything.
Please help.

Rand Generate Sounds Multiple-sounds
I got background sound playing (looped) in a movieclip. How could I randomly play other sounds while the background sound is playing? No mouse actions involved here. My objective is to play other sounds while bgsound is playing at any given time or specific times.
Example: playing looped sound and have a short sound clip play when the looped bgsounds hits 20th loop.
Dunno if this is even possible, but hopefully someone can explain how and show a example. thx

alright i need some help on starting and stopping sound with a toggle switch, using this code on the toggle button:

Linkage - Sounds Stopping Other Sounds?

i have a Christmas Card game that i am trying to put a "jingleBell" sound to. I am using linkage. I dont know if this is the right way to do this but i have put the call to the "jinglebell" sound in a movieclip with the first frame having the following actions

the sound is 5 seconds long and i am trying to loop the sound. My framerate is 60 fps so at the 300th frame of the jinglebell MC, i have a simple gotoAndplay (1).
I also have a cannon on the main stage - if someone not of flash mind was reading this they would think i was doolally!!!! - The cannon fires snowballs and on firing i have another linked sound "fire". the code for the snowball sound is on it's timeline and is as follows

1. My jinglebell sound only plays once and does not loop again
2. Sometimes the bell sound comes back, but when the cannon is fired, the bells disappear
3. The cannon sound is always present and works as required
Any ideas as to how to get the jingle bell sound to loop and not be effected by the cannon fire sound?
I know that using ActionScript to stop a sound that is linked on the main timeline will stop all others on the main tomeline too, but the sounds here are all located within seperate movieClips.

I have 3 movies Layered togehter.
1- Sound file with someone speaking
2- Index moive that loads the Sound file
3- Sound On/Off button
On the Sound On/off moive I would like the button to stop all sounds and then continue playing the same sounds when clicked one again. (Basically pick up where the animation currenlty is.)
Attached is what I have been currently trying. I stops the sounds, but dose not continue to play when - click to start the sound again.

I 've created an 8 track mixing deck with 8 separate faders which fade in attached/linked sounds. I have also created a master
volume fader that I would like to beable to control the master volume. I can't seem to get the master volume control to work.
is there a specific script for the master volume???
summary: 8 faders, 1 master control volume. Would like master control volume to fade all 8 sounds up or down in volume.
(but not changing the actual separate fader volumes...just over all master sound!

I have tried browsing briefly through the forum, but failed locating anything similar to my issue.
I have a background music playing, and buttons that makes different noises when you roll over them. The issue is that I can't stop ONLY the buttonsound when you scroll away from the button.
The code looks like this:

I'm aware that it is the stopAllSounds that makes all sounds stop, the key is to make a code that stops only the button sound.

Play Sounds After Stop All Sounds
Dear all,
I have a question which I hope someone can answer: my flash animation starts immediately when a visitor comes to the page. I have a stop button which stops the animation and the sound which comes with it (speaker voice). A play button plays the animation after the stop button was pressed. But the play button only plays the animation, not the speaker voice. How do I do this? I want the sound to start were it was stopped, just like the animation.
I'm using Flash mx 2004, version 7.2

Looping Several Sounds... A Gap Between The Sounds

I planned to use several loops in a presentation, and queue them so it will sound like a longer piece of music.
I planned to use onSoundComplete with the following basic behavior :

The same principle has been suggested several times on this forum, like here :

But it doesn't work fine for me : there's a gap between the two sounds when I do so, a brief silence that cuts the music flow.
So I am considering using the setInterval function instead, something like this :

which works, but I'm not found of it. Plus notice that I have to set the callback 150 milliseconds shorter than the snd1 duration in order to loop fine, otherwise it doesn't loop well.
So you're gonna tell me : there is something wrong with my loop files. Nope, if I make them one file, pasting the second sound at the end of the first, it works fine.
Please, does anyone has a solution ?

Ok, here goes!
I've made a nice little intro to a friends website. It is currently not up so I'm going to try and describe the problem.
The intro has the star wars main theme playing as the intro begins. There is a point in the intro where another song starts playing as the star wars song fades out. Everything seems fine when I test it with controller. The star wars song fades out, the other starts up during the fade out, life is good. My problem lies in the fact when I hit ctrl+enter to test the scene, as star wars fades out, the other loop doesnt play at all. There is no action for stopallsounds inserted when the second song begins to play. I am completely stumped. I hope this may have happened to someone out here that can give me an idea why this could be happening.

I'm making an animation on CD to sendout to a bunch of people. I'm having an audio spot made and I'm wondering if there is a preferred audio file type to use in this situation. Obviously the CD will be viewed on many different computers depending who the recipient is.

Is it possible to use onSoundComplete with streaming sounds, if you load 'em into the movie via:

I have a song playing in the background of my movie, and a button that stops my movie (with an action to stop all sounds) and a button that plays my movie, and when you click the button to stop the movie the song stops too, but when you click the play button it starts the song at the begining instead of starting it where it stopped, is there any way to start the song where it stopped?
