Swithching Function From Test File To Template? Loop Isn't Working In Template
Hello everyone,

I've finally come back to my original document that I need this function to work on. There's a problem with it continuously looping to undefined when I move it from images1-1 to bubba1-2.
Bubba1-2 is my default template that I need to make this work on.

I've placed a zip file if I'm not making sense, for someone to help me on this little loop problem.
I think the problem is on line 116 of bubba1-2, when I tell it to loop again.

images1-2 is what I'm trying to achieve in bubba1-2.fla

I know it has something to do with me calling my xml function all over again. But, I cannot figure out where my problem lies.

Contact Form In Template Monster Template
Hello. I need help...i have seen a lot of posts, but the script provided is all different...can someone please take a look at what I am using and tell me what is wrong. Once I hit the SUBMIT button, the email is sent to my address, but the email does not contain the informaion typed into the form, even my thank you for submitting window works...

I need to know where or how to make a file card with a tab on the top.
On each card i will need to have lots of buttons that will play a word or number when pressed.

I have just been bought studio mx and im guessing flash mx is going to be my best bet for doing this.

Hi,

I just purchased a flash template from http://www.besttemplate.net and I'm having trouble editing it. There is a spot on the template to allow visitors to sign up for an email newsletter, but it doesn't actually work, and I'd like to get that working. There's also a music player that has a lot of actionscript already written for it, but it still doesn't actually work. Can anyone help me get these two things working? OK, I bought a template from www.templatemonster.com The template is http://www.templatemonster.com/flash...ates/6927.html well, I can edit the top half with no problems, BUT I can't seem to find the bottom part of the site(where the chick is standing) When I pull it into Flash MX it doesn't even show up unless I export it. Where the hell would it be, and how can I edit it? If anyone can help I would appriciate so much. I can put the package on my server and you can download it if you need to see it. Just let me know. I brought a template off the net and with the little bit of flash knowledge i have ive managed to get most of what i need done.
changing the logo and adding my content etc
but im not sure how to add a new page so i can put in more content.

in the libray theres a movie clip that relates to the page.

profile page 1 content with 4 new pages on 4 different key frames. ive tried to add a new 5th keyframe (right click add key frame ) but when i click the button it just goes page 1...page 2...page 3...page 4....and then back to page 1

how can i get it to recognise theres a new page

did that make any sense to anyone ???

I am a newbie. How do I correctly 'import' a flash template into DW8?? Then, modify the template, and place it onto my server from DW8.
Also, I have a file that allows the mouse/cursor to have a trailer (stars & flakes), but I do not understand just WHERE to place that file into a non-flash website to work. Which file for making the mouse trailer to work for the visitor??

I am trying to edit a flash banner in a web site template. The banner is flash the rest of the site is html. In the banner is a looping slide show with 5 images. I want to replace the images. The images are symbols in the library. I have changed my images to bit maps because the symbols are bit maps. I have replaced the old images with mine by naming them the same thing. I save the file and when I go to the html to view the template. The banner is the same. I have deleted the old images but they are still there. Please help. Thanks.

I am in the process of customizing my template and I have run into a problem. You will better understand if you go to www.swamplandreptiles.com/swampland3.html.

I've already added new pages to the template, but when going to the new page the big picture at the top is the same pic as the copied page. If you go to Contact Us you will see the Chameleon. Then go to Reptile parties and click party prices you'll the chameleon, and on the home page click read more about us at the bottom and you will again see the chameleon. I would like these new pages to have different pics. If any one could help me out I would REALLY appreciate it. If I need to I can upload my .swf file for someone to look at.

I just purchased a template on a website called: easytemplates.com

Well, I got one where you just need to update the text.html file in order to update any text on the website. Needless to say, I followed all the directions perfectly and NONE of the text is coming up (not even the place holder text) . When I go into the text.html file and change text, nothing happens.

Any thoughts??

I think I have bitten off more than I can chew! I have purchased one of those all singing flash web templates. It does not have a lot of buttons on it but I cannot work out how they function. There are 12 buttons at the top of the movie with effects on them. When you click on them they bring up a new image. The code is as follows:-

Can anyone give me some guidance on what is going on with this script. I am struggling to find out where the code is getting the images from. I can see the bitmaps (images) in the library but would really like to know where I should look for the objects (or whatever) on the stage. I hope that makes sense. I am a newbie and trying to get my head around this. I just hope I have not wasted my money buying this template.

Hi there just wanted to ask if anyone had any advice for me about using templates. I want to create an online shop and at the moment I know a little php but am not very confident with it. I'm very new at working with flash. I downloaded two free templates and was able to combine and edit them. I want the intro to play 1 time and then load a website. However, the intro keeps looping. Here are the links to the templates I downloaded:

I'm completely new to Flash so I'm trying to keep it simple. I purchased a flash template (http://www.flashtemplatezone.com/Templates-ID/300110072) with the hopes my plans of making a dynamic side would be easier than I thought. Of course I was wrong. I have some simple website building skills with WYSIWYG (Dreamweaver) editors. In a nutshell I don't want to change the action or templates, only the wording. Like change "Military Unit" to an original logo, and maybe add some pics, as well as change the words on the links on the index and other templates. Could someone lead me to some instructions, simply explain how I could do that please? Thanks.

One Template, Many Looks?
I searched and also went through the tutorials. But once again, I don't even know the approach so am not sure what to look for. I know the result I want (become a world renowned mx guru and make more money that Bill Gates). Sorry, I dozed off for a sec . . .

The tutorials that came closest were Tutorial 28 attachMovie and Tutorial 32 LoadVariables and LoadVars Objects

What I would like to do is by using actionscript generate a simple interface. This part I think I can do.

So I would like to create what??? Is it an array? A function? See I'm totally lost as to where to start.

I have these movie clips (boxes and buttons) and also a news box a la Jesse's tutorial

i have never used flash before. I downloaded a template from dreamweaver and the top bar and menu is done in flash. I need to change it from Charity to Muskoka Planning Council for Children as well as somethings in the menu. When i open it in flash it does not give me any options it only shows me the pictures. CS3 Template In CS4
In CS3 there was a Quiz Template and you could choose "New From Template" and choose Quiz.

In CS4, that template is no longer there. I was able to download the template from the website, but I don't know how to get the template to show up so that when I choose "New From Template" I can load the Quiz Template.

Any help would be appreciated. I am a beginner if that is not already obvious. I am trying to follow the tutorial that comes along with the Quiz Template.

Hello, I am new to flash cs3! I bought a nice site template online but I want to change a few things with it. Such as some of the buttons do not go to another page (EX: Pets button should take you to another page with photos of pets) So I guess I need to add a new page to link the button to but I am not sure how to do that ... I recently purchased a website template, the majority of the site involves flash. I attempted to edit the template to fit my needs but hit a deadend everytime. I wanted to change the templates navagation at the top, but the navagation has a roll over effect in which a glow surrounds the word. I managed to change the text, but the original glow was still present, unchanged, so i ended up with a overlapping, unmatching glow. I attempted to find where to edit the glow, but had no luck. The template also included the PSD, but i wasn't sure how to edit that and extract it into the flash. The template includes several different pages which all include the same basic look with just a different flash picture. I was wondering if someone would be able to take the time to help me, i'd greatly appreciate it. The template can be viewed below;

Need A Template
Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has templates for a flash website. I'm relatively new to flash (atleast, flash for a website) and I really have no experience or knowledge on how a site can be built solely with flash; thus resulting in me asking on this website in addition to searching the forums and google. I have a question about a template in flash MX.

I opened:
file - new from template - photo slide show.

But for some reason the stage is locked at 0/0 on the ruler. I cannot go off to the left of the stage. I cannot find anywhere where I can unlock this stage? I have tried to move objects off the stage to the left but they will not make the stage advance to the right. How do you remedy this?

XML Template
Hi,

I am building an XML driven template. I am having trouble with the portfolio section. What I have so far is a movieclip that is going to show you a preview of the piece of work. I want as many of these movieclips to be generated as however many peices of work that is going to be displayed. I have looked around and I am having quite a lot of trouble!

Hey.

I have been developing an XML template and have hit a problem. I have made a menu that has six items in their own movieclips. In that movieclip there is a dynamic textbox which loads the text from the XML file. All of these movieclips are encapsulated in another movieclip which contains the rollover animation which is simply just a tint applied with a motion tween. Then all of these movieclips are contained in one global menu movieclip.

Menu -> Btn1_mc -> Btn1 -> Btn1_txt

The problem is that when you rollover the second and third items, the xml text just seems to disappear, and on the thrid, fourth and fifth items nothing happens at all, even though they are setup exactly the same!

I have posted the SWF here so you can see what is wrong.

Help With Template
I recently got a template to do a site and I am having problems with one of the buttons. I duplicated a movie clip and named it something else so that I can use all the elements within that clip but change the content. When I put the instance on the page and connect it to the pics button it brings up a blank page with nothing there. I cant seem to make it bring up the altered duplicate clip with that information. I was wondering if someone can tell me what I did wrong and how to make the correct clip show when the button is clicked.

One other thing, I changed the link that was on the green button and now that page is the pics page i want to create. I wanted in essence to duplicate the same effects in the new page and make it come up when you hit the green pics button. I thought it would be simple but it just brings up is a blank screen.

Can you 'save as'templates in flash, the way you can in dreamweaver???

Quiz Template
I'm working on a movie w/ 3 sections each of which have a quiz at the end. I have created 3 quizzes using the Flash MX quiz template and now need to insert them into my original movie.

What is the best/easiest way to insert a quiz? Is it possible to create a quiz using the template inside of an existing movie? I have successfully used the loadMovie function, but the score results don't post and I can't position it properly within the original movie.

Hi,

I hope someone can help me on this one:
Drag&drop mc's are visible, even when I've continued to
the next question(frame) within the swf.

I'm using the Quiz template of Flash MX (several questions
presented randomly in the exported movie.)
For a Drag&drop exercise i've created my own objects, named them correctly and placed them where the original templates were (same distinct frame). It's the only D&D exercise I'm using, so there shouldn't be any mix-up.

Why won't they diappear, but stick to where they had been dragged until the end of the exported movie ?

Hi:

If I have a presentation on frame 1 and I drag and drop the quiz template on frame 2. I want the quiz template to provide feedback and a Next button which takes me to the next frame and plays the next frame when it does. Right now it provides me with a next question button but that button does not take me to the next frame.
