This Page Requires AC_RunActiveContent.js
This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js
I’ve seen this discussed before, but mainly on web site problems.
I’ve “published” a small flash animation as “html”, I can then open it from Internet explorer and view it.
However, if I e-mail it and the receiver try to open it he get this error: This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js
I sent it to myself as well, and I get the same error. I can open the original html, but not the one that circulated the web????
Any ideas please???
Cheers

This Page Requires AC_RunActiveContent.js.
I get this message "This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js." when viewing my .swf file which is loaded into a dreamweaver page and uploaded as a html file. so, I downloaded the java script fix for this and uploaded it to my server, it got rid of the pop up message brilliantly, however ..... it has pushed my home page down to the bottom of my page when I view it (about the same hight as my .swf file approx 15cm). As soon as I take the java script off the server it aligns to the top again which is great but the Warning message appears again. Can anyone help?
This Page Requires AC_RunActiveContent...?
Hi all.
I'm testing my new website through my computer and I keep getting that following error code.
I know it had to do something with the AC_RunActive thingy with my last site for the counter but I don't want a counter this time. I have no action script calling for a counter and I have removed all ac_runactive content from the file where I am testing my site from.
What the heck? How do I eliminate this error?
Thanks so much
This Page Requires AC_RunActiveContent.js.
I am new to flash. Recently purchased a template and made the necessary changes to the site. When I went to upload the html file to the server, I received the error "This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js." when I visit the site. Below is the code that I have. I have tried to use the swfObject, but have 0 idea on how to use it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

This Page Requires AC_RunActiveContent.js
i tried to publish my site to my .mac account and i got the "this page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js" message.
i thought that if i uploaded the AC_RunActiveContent.js file into the same folder as the HTML and SWF file, it would fix this problem but it didn't work.
then, i read online that using SWFobject would fix the problem. this also didn't work, possibly because i don't know how to make it work. do i really have to go through and edit a whole bunch of code to fix this problem? all i want to do is publish it. flash really knows how to make me feel like an [frustrated] idiot.
could someone please please please help me??? i'm dying.

Ac_runactivecontent.js
I'm making a website in Flash CS3 and usually when I publish, I will go back to the HTML file and change the alignment, how far down the page is and the heading. When I do it this time and try and upload it, a pop-up says "This page needs ac_runactivecontent.js" what is going on and how can I fix this. I have googled it many times but nothing makes sense to me. If you could help me out that would awesome. When I used Flash 8 it didn't do this so is there a setting or preference or something that's in the HTML code I can delete?

AC_RunActiveContent.js
For some reason when I publish a project in Flash CS3 a file called "AC_RunActiveContent.js" is generated along with my .swf and .html files.
Is it because I am continuing to work with AS2 in CS3?
Is AC_RunActiveContent.js Still Necessary?
I see from some online posts (Adobe) (elsewhere) that Microsoft resolved the legal disputes that spurred the need for including the "AC_RunActiveContent.js" file. Is this true? Have they actually "fixed" all of the copies of IE via their automated updates? Is there still a large user base out there whose browsers are still screwy and will have to "click to activate?" I would LOVE to not have to include that stupid AC_RunActiveContent.js file.

AC_RunActiveContent.js ----- Syntax Help
Hi All,
When using this in html.......

"quality", "high",

);
How can I also implement the QueryString functionality?
<object classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="612" height="740">

</object>
This code looks for a variable set in the flash document as a part of the query string and works great. But when placing the flash file in html like the top piece of code I'm unsure as to how to include the ?<%=Request.QueryString%> portion.
Any help would be GREAT!!!!!
thanks

AC_RunActiveContent OR SWFObject?
Do you prefer AC_RunActiveContent.js, swfobject.js? And why?
I used to use swfobject but after CS3 brought it's own javascript file i never cared to wonder, until now
AC_RunActiveContent Not Needed Any More?
This article seems to be saying that we do not need to use AC_RunActiveContent.js anymore, or at least since April.

The AC_RunActiveContent.js is a hassle to work around if you are passing variables to Flash.
It seems my current version of Flash still creates this File if I Publish HTML from Flash.
AC_RunActiveContent.js Problem
Hello,
I am new to flash and am trying to publish a small flash piece to a website. I am using CS3 Pro and AS2, but I hit publish on the presentation (called Index) and use SmartFTP to transfer the .js file, the .html, and the .swf file all onto the server, but I still receive a warning that "This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js". So, I used Frontpage to look at the html to see if I was missing anything, and all the names seemed to be well I have no idea (posted below, sorry if I am not suppost to - dont use forums often). If anyone has any suggestions that would be great! Thanks - redbaron005

Possible Flash / AC_RunActiveContent Bug?
Hi all,
This is my first post so please excuse me if I trample on any protocols!
My problem is this: I want to store all my Flash movies in a different (sub)directory to the index.html that calls it. It works fine if I don't install the AC_RunActiveContent fix from Adobe. However, once I place the javascript in my code, it doesn't load.
This is my layout:

http://mysite.com/mydir/AC_RunActiveContent.js
http://mysite.com/mydir/private/flash.swf
http://mysite.com/mydir/AC_RunActiveContent.js (<< placed in here to see if this fixes the issue)
My index.html:

AC_RunActiveContent.js & Dreamweaver 8.02
With the latest patch for Dreamweaver when you insert a swf file just using the insert flash content button it now uses this script to insert it
AC_RunActiveContent.js
This works great and prevents the click to activate content in IE, this is something that Adobe should have done straight away.
I've tried viewing my site on older PC's with flash player 6 installed and in IE I was prompted to upgrade to the latest flash player. The blue bar appeared at the top of the browser.
Bearing all this in mind is this the best way to embed my content or should I be using SWFObject ? Does this offer better flash detection? I know it can offer the express install but is this the only advantage?
Its just using the insert flash button is so convenient.
Thanks

AC_RunActiveContent.js Vs. SwfObject.js
Hey guys,
I am preparing a redesign of a site for the company I am currently employed at and I finally convinced them to allow me to put some flash in on the home page. I was running my finished page through the "W3C Markup Validation Service" and I am getting some errors only on my flash code areas. They are currently using "AC_RunActiveContent.js" with the basic export setting with CS3, but I was wondering if it was better to use swfobject?
Any thoughts on which one is better/worse?
Secondly, here is what i have adding one of my flash files on the html page.
Code:
<div class="advertisement1">
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="195" height="175" id="test" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain">
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="false">
<param name="movie" value="test.swf"><param name="quality" value="high"><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff"> <embed src="test.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="195" height="175" name="test" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">
</object>
</div>
Is there a more correct way of adding this and do I really need to put in the <noscript> section ( i know its if the person has javascript turned off, but I don't care for people like that, )?
Thanks
Scott
Include AC_RunActiveContent.js When Publishing
Hi
I copied and changed the default (Flash Only) html publish file but
when I publish my flash file, it doesnt create the AC_RunActiveContent.js file.
How can I get Flash to include AC_RunActiveContent.js file when publishing?
Ac_runactivecontent And Firefox Problem
We published a new version of our site yesterday using flash cs3. I was under the impression that the genereated ac_runactivecontent.js file would automatically detect and update the users flash player. It was doing this in IE but we have a customer who was using firefox and it was not doing the detection and upgrade. I did a netmeeting session to confirm this. Is there something more I need to do to get it to detect and upgrade in firefox? Thanks.
Passing Url Variables Through AC_RunActiveContent.js
I'm using the AC_RunActiveContent.js file I downloaded from Adobe as a fix to the unsightly box IE puts around objects. I want to still be able to pass my variables through the html Does any one have a fix for this?
Here is the code that calls the Java Script
Code:
<script language="javascript">
if (AC_FL_RunContent == 0) {
alert("This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js.");
} else {
AC_FL_RunContent(
'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0',
'width', '100%',
'height', '100%',
'src', 'index2.swf?Current_page="Home"',
'quality', 'high',
'pluginspage', 'http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer',
'align', 'middle',
'play', 'true',
'loop', 'true',
'scale', 'showall',
'wmode', 'window',
'devicefont', 'false',
'id', 'index2',
'bgcolor', '#a1a1a1',
'name', 'index2',
'menu', 'true',
'allowFullScreen', 'true',
'allowScriptAccess','sameDomain',
'movie', 'index2',
'salign', ''
); //end AC code
}
</script>
When I use
HTML Code:
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="100%" height="100%" id="index2" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name="movie" value="index2.swf?Current_page='Home'" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#a1a1a1" /><embed src="index2.swf?Current_page='Home'" quality="high" bgcolor="#a1a1a1" width="100%" height="100%" name="index2" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
</object>
It works Fine!
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Thanks for the Help!

AC_RunActiveContent Vs. Search Engines
I know Search Engines can index SWF content. Seen it myself.
But this “new” AC_RunActiveContent method of embedding the SWF uses JavaScript to write the embed, sidestepping IE’s ActiveX enabling “security.”
To my experience, things “inside” JavaScript can’t be seen by Search Engines. (They don’t parse or run the script.)
Doesn’t this mean that SWF content embedded with AC_RunActiveContent will no longer be visible to Search Engines?
If so, that's very sucky
FlashVars With AC_RunActiveContent.js - Can't Get It To Work
Hello,
I've read the tutorials and posts at Adobe but can't get this to work. My url passes this to the page with my.swf movie:
Code:
http://www.etc/myswf.html?var1=3&var2=A
var1 and var 2 are set depending on the button pressed on the previous page.
This is what I have for the code on the page with my.swf - but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?
Code:
<script language="javascript">AC_FL_RunContent = 0;</script>
<script src="AC_RunActiveContent.js" language="javascript"></script>
html body etc ...
<script language="javascript">
if (AC_FL_RunContent == 0) {
alert("This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js. In Flash, run "Apply Active Content Update" in the Commands menu to copy AC_RunActiveContent.js to the HTML output folder.");
} else {
AC_FL_RunContent(
'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0',
'width', '800',
'height', '600',

); //end AC code
}
</script>
<noscript>
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="800" height="600" id="myswf" align="middle">

</object>
I have "var1=var1&var2=var2" this way because in my.fla movie I pick up var1 = var1 from the URL and var2 = var2.
Thanks!

AC_RunActiveContent.js Bug Related To Frames
I am using Adobe's AC_RunActiveContent.js on my flash but had problems in a specific area that I thought I would mention. I have an html site with some flash in it but the owner wanted music througout. To accomplish this I created a frameset with two rows set to 100% and *. In FF and Opera the script didn't run. If I just used <object> tag it worked but not the script. IE plays it though. In order to get around this I set my main frame height to 99%. This triggers the script in both FF and Opera. If anyone has any ideas as to why FF and Opera do this or a way to get around it I would love to hear them.

Preloader That Requires 100%?
Curious about scripts that would require a preloader to show 1-100% before going to next scene. ( so on really small files it doesn't just show the animation )
I've tried doing this so far and havn't gotten it to work.
Thanks in advance.
Preloader That Requires It To Go From 0-100%?
Okay yet again I post on this topic.
I need a flash preloader that requires it to show all the loading numbers ( 0 --> 100% ) even if someone has loaded that part of the webpage before.
A good example is the fact most preloaders do not even show up if you hit the refresh button on browser.
Examples of what I am looking for are like 2advanced.com preloaders where it still shows it and it going 0-100% even if you have visted that part of the site.
Thanks In Advance

Where Can I Get A Php Mailform That Requires...
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can direct me to a place to either get or purchase a php mailform. I do a few but I would like to find one where it requires the user to imput his email twice just so the email is correct. I am not sure how to hard code that in. The contact form would have 5 imputs: "Name", "email", retype "email" again, "contact phone number", and a "message box". I am asking in the Flash MX section cause this is the program I design my sites from. I really appreciate any help.

Novice Requires Help.
K I am a complete novice when it comes to flash and really need some help on probably the most basic of errors. I have followed various deifferent methods found on various posts and forums but none have solved this issue. I have created a basic animation with a front page then wish upon the button click the next part of the animation to load and bring up the menu for the rest of the site. However it either plays the animations straight through or it doesn't play at all.
I have uploaded the fla file here
Untitled.fla
Please could somebody take a look and show me where I'm making the obviously stupid mistake.
Dave
