Top Banner Full Size Drop Down To Smaller Size?
This is kind of a 2 part question, don't know if this should be in the Flash forum or server-side/client-side.
First Question: I need to make a top banner for a new site, which has 4 pictures in it which will all be animated, the trick with this is I need to have it be 800x115 to show the full animation then when the pictures all move up their will be 8 or so buttons underneath the banner. Question is can I get this animation to be throughout the entire site without ever replaying that animation, without using frames? I am using php includes changing the ?id.
Second Question: If the first one doesn't work, I need to set it up using two different tables having the top banner in one and the buttons in the other. Here's the question, how can I do that animation from the first question with just javascripting, so the animation will not play again?
Reiterate: 1 Animation, a top banner which will be a box with 4 pictures in it will start out at full size (800x115) then the 4 pics will move up so that they will now be (800x85) and then buttons will be in the (800x30) spot.
I have seen some codes that look like they would work using cookies but I will need an explanation as to how it works if you can help me. I might have another animation in the site so I will need to make sure that some animations can play over again.

Making Canvas Size And File Size Smaller
Hi guys,
I made a flash projector file recently for my company,
Its 1024 * 768, and a pretty big file size, but we had it burned onto dvd so that was ok....
However now I want to make it 250 * 250, cut the filesize down, and put it on the companies web site....
Is there any way i can do this in flash?
can I do it in Premiere/ After effects...

.swf Size - Help Me Make It Smaller
Hey folks. I am making a portfolio of my paintings. But the final file size is REALLY BIG! So the load time is HUGE! Now, I have made the imported JPEG files as small as possible without them looking like crap. So what else can I do? Are there any compression programs out there that can help me make the swf smaller?

Need Smaller File Size
i need to reduce my file size from 250k to 10k.
my .swf file is 250k and i need it to be 10k. i have tried to do everything that i know to reduce it.
it's an ad and the demensions are 130 x 100.
i changed the 2 images to 8bit bitmaps and then imported them into flash. i changed the jpeg quality to 0 and then save and compact then pulish and i am still getting 250k.

Making Your Document Size Smaller?
I have made a navigation bar with sub-menus in flash and wasnt sure how big the sub menus were going to be so made the document size quite large.
Now i need to make it smaller and when i change the size it cuts my picture off from the right. I need it to cut off from the left as that is where the space left over is. any ideas??

I purchased a template to help me to learn FLASH. Once I published it to my web site what once took up my full screen miniturized into a 1.5" square. I am thinking that I need to add something to the html but this is only guess work on my part. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Make Smaller .swf File Size
I am making a small ad (300x250) and need the file size to be 30K. I need to use four images and have already change those image sizes to be as small as I could using 72dpi. Currently my .swf is still 56K. Are there any other little things I could do to make my file size smaller? Does using nested movie clips help at all?

Text Options: Smaller File Size?
Hi all,
One of the things I've noticed while working with flash, is that text often makes the file size of an otherwise small flash movie much larger.
So I'd like to know what my options are in keeping the filesize down? Are there specific fonts I should stick to? I wouldn't even mind making the fonts alaised.

How Do I LoadMovie Large Swf Into Predefined Smaller Size?
Hi,
I have a project where I am working with a SWF file that is 640x480 called hd.swf.
I have a master movie called howarddean.swf
Inside howarddean.swf i have an empty movie clip with an instance name mc1
I need to loadMovie the hd.swf into mc1.
The only problem is, the movie loads up but takes up the whole screen. I need the hd.swf to come in at 320x240 not 640x480...
Please help!

[F8] Video Or Vector = Smaller File Size?
As a general rule of thumb, I'm just curious which format will produce smaller file sizes? Say, for instance, I've created an animation of a 3D model walking across the screen in a white room. The model isn't the most realistic, perhaps mirroring the quality of "The Sims" characters.
I have the ability to export this animation as a video and bring it into Flash (whether it be FLV, externally loaded SWF, etc. Point is, it's raster-based), or I can take the other route and export this from an Electric Rain product directly to vector art. So basically, does anyone have any advice for which will produce a smaller file size?
I'm in a bit of a pinch and don't really have time to experiment with the two. Since the model is so simplistic, I have no worries that the vector version can't produce comparable results to the raster version concerning detail, shadows, etc. File size is my main concern. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

Can anyone help me? My flash site is up, but although it loads great on my computer, it takes awhile and needs to be refreshed on my coworkers computer and doesn't show up in Safari. Any suggestions on saving to make the file size smaller so that it will load faster?

Smaller Size File Type For Sound In Flash?
what is the smallest file type to save the sound in, so the movie loads faster, obviously not wav, for a 30 second intro, and ive been using mp3 format, but that also is just way too slow, for it to load anywhere near 1:30 with dialup, i had to drop the mp3 sound format down to speakerphone format hehe.so any suggestions on the format to help it load faster, thank you so much.and also any suggestions on what program to use to convert it, would also be very much appreciated.thanks so much laters =)

Making Ad-banner Size Animations
I have flash 5, which I bought when MX came out, which made it very cheap, I am making a website, and a client would like animated banners to put on the site. I can't remember the exact size for banners, but I think that it is something like 468X60 (pixels?) and this is the size I need. I have absolutely no idea of how to make a flash movie a different size in flash 5, can anyone help me?

[F8] Initial Download Size For Banner Ads
Hi,
I have a question regarding Flash generated banner ads. I usually don't design banner ads, so I'm in the process of understanding some of the unique specifications for them.
One of them is the Initial Download requirement. Basically, the hosting site requires a Initial Download size of 15k. The total banner size is 85k.
I used the ifFrameLoaded function to (hopefully) keep the rest of the banner from playing until frame 1 is loaded.

Would anyone verify if this is the correct way to work with the Initial Download requirement for banner ads?

Recommended Banner File Size?
Hello.
I did a google search for "recommended flash banner file size" and didn't find much other that the Adobe site which advises to keep it under 15k.
15k are you serious?
I've seen some pretty graphic heavy banners with images and everything and I find it hard to believe they are under 15k.
I can only get mine down to 52k.
Does anyone know the recommended maximum file size for an average flash banner. (like the myspace ones for example).

Problems Using Logo In Flash, And Exporting Banner At The Right Size
Hi there,
My first ever post lol.
1) I am currently designing an animated Flash banner in Flash 8. The client wants me to use the company logo in the animation. But every time I try to use an image of their logo it looks very blurry and pixellated.
I have tried importing various formats, gif, jpeg, png, but everytime I send the movie to the client they say it looks very fuzzy. I am not compressing the movie when publishing. But i did resize it a bit in Flash.
I have the original logo in EPS format, but I cannot use this directly as I need to retain the transparency around the logo (its circular).
I thought about recreating the logo in Flash so it would be crisp vectors but I have neither the fonts or the time to get it right.
How do I get clear images in Flash?
2) Also how do I publish this as the exact size of the banner? When I send it to clients it is in a sea of white space and doesnt look like a banner. Aah!
Please halp I am the only one at work who is creative and I need this sorted by Monday! waa!

Full Screen But Set Size?

Open Full Size?
i have a flash projector file that i want to put on a cd with an auto run file, but i want the flash file to open full screen with no menu at the top or borders.
i have a sample cd like this, but its just an exe file and a normal autorun file(no special commands).
is there something in the flash file to make it run full screen when its played?
this seems pretty simple, but i just cant seem to figure it out.

so i have been seeing a lot of full size flash sites
and some of them are real nice
i have been fooling around with it a little bit but have some opinionated questions
what do you prefer to code for:
1. chromeless window
2. full size pop-up like window
3. full size in browser
also, how can you get the viewable area of the movie
i can dynamically set the size of my objects inside my movie, like a back screen, but how can i get the users viewing area.
i was thinking javascript and just throw it on the end of my src call, flash.swf?uHeight=800&uWidth=600
something like that, any other ways?

Full Size, 100% Projector
hello
i'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out- i have my projector file and it plays in full screen at start - fscommand("fullscreen", "true"); - however it automatically goes in "show all" mode instead of "100%" so it actually resizes it to bigger which in turn messes up the resolution.
How can I have it run at its actual 100% at start?

Not the best example (but a nice site), but it shows it.
How do they get a full screen animation (I've got a 20" LCD and it animates on the entire thing, but does not scale the text or jpgs) without scaling anything? It really looks good like this - flexible, only full screen if you want it to, no (seemingly) arbitray borders, etc..

Full-Size Window
Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm simply trying to make the entire FLA fit the window height and width as best I can. I see the original "player.fla" is constructed at 930x700 pixels.
Is this the best size to fit a window? I originally built my movie at 800x600 (or 900x700) but am not sure what the best size to start in is. What's the additional 30 pixels for in the width?

Full Screen On Any Size Monitor?
I am trying to put my website on a CD so I can enter it in a contest because they requested it that way.
I decided to use the following FS command and it works fine as long as they have a 21" monitor.
