And if not, what can I use with a flash site to upload a pic?

i know filereference upload files that only resides on localdisk and that we select using browse methods but is it possible that we convert movieclip which contains single image to filereference object so that we can upload it using filereference.upload() method?

Upload Page ...user Can Upload An Image
Im trying to figure out how I can create a page as described.
I want the customer to be able to go to blbla.html and click browse where appropriate and select the image that he/she wants to upload to the server.
How can I accomplish this in Flash, PHP, or straight HTML. I have a few ideas but never really dealt with someone having that kind of access to a server.
Any help would be great! I would prefer to do this in Flash for usability purposes. thanks!
Bug In FileReference: Upload->cancel->upload Not Possible
Hi,
i have written an uploader flash to upload multiple files one after another to a server.
I want to be able to cancel the uploading of a list of filerefences and continue later.
But when i cancel an ongoing upload it is not possible to upload that filereference-object again.
During the second call of upload (after a cancel before) the progress-events are still fired, but not the complete/httperror events. So effectively the upload keeps hanging at the previously canceled filereference.
I tried with Flash 8 and Flash CS3 - with both it was the same problem.
Can anyone confirm this?

Upload-script Doesn't Upload
I'm trying to make a button which can upload multiple files in Flash.
This is my code so far:

The problem is that the console in Flash does say that the files are uploaded, but they are not.
I've tried to replace the PHP to just echo "test"; and Flash still says it is uploaded.
So what is wrong with the script and why does Flash says that files are uploaded when they aren't?

My brother got me this great program and I made a real nice swi file. I exported to html and swf then tried to upload it to my web site but it would not upload the swf file.
I am using Yahoo geocities webbuilder - it took the html but not the swf. I have seached the forums up to 4 pages back in 3 forums but not found what I need. Yahoo will only take some file extensions.
Also, if I need to resize the whole movie so it can be seen whole without scrolling in the window - is there a way to resize everything easily having to redo certain effects due to the fact that they then dont move outside the movie since parameters have changed?

does anyone know a better way of uploading a file to the site. if there are a way that is....can you make a file and put eveything in the file and upload that file(guessing) the way i do it is upload everything i save as png sequen,
maybe i don't know what i'm talking about....any suggestion is helpful

Hey I just made a kind of cruddy banner for an HTML website but the place won't let me upload .SWI files. So I am wondering were does everybody is uploading these banners. (The only other thing I want to do with it is to HotLink so I can put them on these fourms)

Can someone give me the correct code for the 'upload' action in MX, I'm trying to load a .swf file into the main timeline, the .swf file is in the same directory folder as the main timeline .swf file.
In addition, can a .swf file be uploaded into a movie clip, is the code the same?

FPS Changes After Upload
Hi,
I've made some flash for a site, the FPS is 30.
I have put the flash into the HTML code and uploaded it.
But when i watch the movie online, the FPS seems to be lower, and the flash animation is much slower..
Does anyone recognize this problem?
How can i fix this?

I'm new to making flash animations, and I've just made a little one with a loader bar, a couple of buttons and some sound as well as the animation, but I can't seem to upload it properly.
I'm using freewebs, in the HTML mode. I uploaded the .swf file and the .html file and editted the .html to include the links to the .swf, but it keeps just getting caught on my loader bar thing and doesn't actually load. Whenever I play the animation when I open the .swf or .html file on my computer it works, but it doesn't when I upload it.
Any reason why its doing this?

It works on windows but I cant make it work for Mac because I got no idea what the proper Mac extensions should be called

Do I Have To Upload .fla With .swf?

I've tried to upload my webpages, but I cannot view them. I don't know what I did wrong. After I configure all the information on the site definition window, I also test it, and the connection was fine. But when I open my webpage to check it, my page wasn't there.

Was wondering if any clever people have figured out a way to create a file browser button within flash. I have an HTML page i created with form elements - mostly file browse elements. The form submits to a cgi on my server for uploading. I htought wiht the new components I could handle this form data and create a little ftp engine wihtin my new website--but so far no such luck. Add the fact I'm not really MR ACTIONSCRIPT ----so I turn to the experts.

I've this problem: I'm trying to create a upload system that use flash MX by client-side e ASP by server-side.
How to comunicate to the asp page the correct data to do the upload? I wish to comunicate this information, for example:

i recently learned how to load swf's that contained music.
The problem is the swf is 2.5mb and when i want to upload on to the server they only accept 500kb, uploads, is there any servers that allow bigger uploads ? i am using a free one at the moment

But there's still one thing I don't understand.
Some time ago...I created a site with a Flash5 movie...the problem was, that sometimes the movie was displayed upside down.
Yesterday I changed the code in the movie in...
"http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,47,0"
So I suppose that the plugin would be upgraded...but that isn't the case...why doesn't it work?
