Face Animator Smart Clips Up For Download
I've been working on this for about four months now, ever since I completed the biped animator smart clips (I'm not good at taking breaks) and it's finally ready for the taking by anyone who's interested.
What it is: the Face Animator is an interface that you access through smart clips that you drop on your stage. In the interface, you can create fairly articulated facial animations and lipsynching, and then the code is exported back into your smart clip. Publish your movie and your animation plays! It's a fun little toy, and I'm hoping it proves useful to some of you in your animations.
At my site, in the face animator section, you can download the interface, help files, and four premade smart clips (you can create your own based on these). Have at 'em!
Any suggestions/comments, as always, would be greatly appreciated. Especially if anyone has any thoughts on the code (I've optimized quite a bit since my biped animator, but could always use more)-- send them my way!

I want to create a web page where viewers can download free clipart.
I know for .jpg .gif etc, they can just right click to get the download started.

Recently I had to come up with a all-in-one tweening solution for one of my AS 3 projects, so I built this little class that handles tweening of all object properties that you might throw at it.

Ok, well I am starting to look at flash but my problem is simply: Is there a free flash editor besides Macromedia ones that cost much bucks?

Well, it's finally done (I say with a hopeful shudder)-- the last of my Animators which I've spent a good many months developing. This is the best of the lot, methinks, allowing Flashers to assign textured, bitmap symbols dynamically to faces on a 3d configuration.
The interface to do all this opens up through a smart clip, which lets users create and then animate vertices and faces on a simple timeline. They can then export the animation in either solid or wireframe form back into their smart clip to publish in their own movies.
In addition to the animated vertices, Flashers can animate position and angle of view, or let the run-time user control these aspects.
The link below contains samples, downloads, a helpfile, and the interface itself. All open source for anyone interested in picking it up.
I hope these might prove useful and fun. I'm off to do a long animation with NO CODING involved. Ahhhhhh.....

FREE DOWNLOAD Beta Of A Search Engine
I just felt like making a search engine in Flash....because I didn't know what to do this afternoon, after a whole night up studying, and an exaam gone quite badly (20/30).
So I did it...it's simple and neat...just a little bug for the scroller (which is probably due to the promisquity of sizes in the text contained).
I think this is a cool present I give to you, just 20 minutes before going out for my summer holidays!

Audio Download Link From Flash To Download Dialog
I am defining a URL to an MP3 file and then having a button use getURL onPress to open it. On my computer, this opens a dialog box to save the file.
However, on some computers, it opens the file in Quicktime in browser, I'm guessing just because Quicktime is configured to do so for them.
I want the link to always go to the regular save dialog box, so that it doesn't go away from my full screen Flash site, and so the user can download the file instead of just listening in browser.
Any ideas on how to do this, either by using a different link or a different method?

I have been building my website in flash and have a simple question that I cannot figure out for some reason (maybe its too simple) . Anyhow I have uploaded my mp3 songs of my music and used the geturl and _blank so that when someone clicks on my link the music opens right into thier quicktime player (if on mac) or windows media player (if on pc). I want the user to be able to download the mp3 to there computer (ie like a normal download window appears stating "do you want to download this file to disk" is there some other code or line I need to add ???? It seems so simple? I would really appreciate the help as I have tried a number of things with no success. I have seen that I have to use FileReference but I do not completely understand it
here is what i currently have which is not working... I have a button that I created and placed this in the action within the button

How To Download The Akamai Download Manager
Hi. I was trying to download the Flash CS4 Trial to try it out, but it told me I needed the "Akamai Download Manager." I searched around for it, but I could not find how to download the actual download manager itself! (I am using Mac OS X if that's relevant by the way).

Force To Download New Text--->
Ok I have simple dynamic text on a flash web site.
The text field pulls the text from a welcome.txt file.
Now if I edit the welcome.txt file and change the content inside it...upload the text file to my server and then reload the web site it still keeps showing the old welcome.txt file content.
Is there any way I can force the text field in flash to always look for the latest content instead of taking the file from the browser cache?
I assume that is what is happening.
I can't expect people to empty their cache everytime I update my text.
Am I missing something basic?
Oh! and my web provider media temple updates the content instantly so that is not the problem.
Please help me!
Download File From Xml Text
Hi,
I am making a site for a client.
They want to be able to upload videos and also have the viewer be able to download the video.
But...they want to be able to add the videos / files to download themselves.
I was going to use an xml video player component, so I figure it will be fairly easy for the client to add or take away videos.
But I'm not sure how to set it up so that the client can add a link that will automatically download a file?
Any ideas?

I'm working on a project and I want the user to be able to download the text from a text field as a .txt. So is there anyway to make it when the user clicks a button in flash it will take the data/text from the text field and download it onto their computer?

I've made a button that allows users to download a text(Word)file to their hard disk. I have used the right path and an zip file. But... it still doesn't work.The browser turns up with a message that the page could not be found. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong??

Hello, I'm rather new to flash. How can I make a link so when its clicked, it will download the file (in my case an mp3) rather than open quicktime and play it? I was told I should put the mp3 in a zip folder, but I keep thinking that there must be another way. A better way. A way that does exactly what I want. is there? I hope so. thanks.

I was wondering if someone could help me out with this simple little problem I've run into. I want to put a link so a person can download a text version of my resume or whatever. How would I go about doing this? I've tried get url with the absolute address of the file, but it always tries to open a new browser window. I suppose I could always set up a 'print' function, but I would like them to be able to download the actual file. Is there a way I can have it so that when they click the link, the 'save as' windows pops up and they just save the file? I suppose this could apply to other things such as .zip files and stuff like that. But anyways, if someone could help me out that'd be great. Thanks in advance.

Setting up the menu system and button is no problem, but despite searching through the language reference, I seem unable to find a function/method that will allow the download to start.
I originally thought that I could use the fscommand to communicate with the browser (and ultimately the server holding the text files), but have been completely unable to make this work.
I am using Flash MX 2004.
Am I thinking along the right lines here or barking up completely the wrong tree? Any help would be much appreciated.

it just opens the file in the browser.

If I give you this text scroller download can you make it scroll smoother? Thats the challenge I havent seen one roll smoothe yet. Can you apply some code to make it scrol in small pixel amounts and speed as well? So that it rolls up or down the screen the same as movie words scrol on the TV screen?

Work was a bit slow today so I made up a little demo. The text is being pulled in from a XML file and you can use the forward and back arrows to go through the nodes in your XML file.
Nothing too fancy or crazy but something to have fun with. I have attached the FLA and if anyone see's any immediate problems with my code or ways to optimize let me know.

Moving Text On A Free-from Area ? (free Curve Scrolling)

I am trying to get some text to move inside a specific area.
I have attached a gif showing the wanted rute - inside the legs of the non-conform X-letter.
Is there a way to do this - i dont have any math on the movement of the X-legs.
1) I am kind of newbie, so where do i start out - please help.
2) If i can get the rute specified for my text to move - can i then save the path for later use with other text.
i will use it on my homepage as some kind of intro-news-text-scroller.
