Need To Change A Video Component To Something Like A FLV Playback Component For Video Playlist
I'm pretty new to all this flash stuff, but have been getting my way through it the last few months. I bought a template a few months ago for my wife's Wedding Videography Company. I've been struggling trying to get a Video Playlist with working video for quite some time now, but found a good tutorial on Adobe's website recently. The template is exactly what we want except that it does not have any playback buttons at all.

We are using Flash CS3 and unfortunately are limited to AS2, not AS3 as the Template that we bought for the website is only AS2, as I've been learning that video is much simpler in AS3.

I want to change out the "Video Component" to something that allows me to have a skin that has like Play, Volume, etc.

Any help with being able to swap it out and have the XML file link to the appropriate new component would be greatly appreaciated.

If The Flash Component Is There, Why Isn't The Video?
I'm trying to get a demo reel site up and my flash video isn't showing...the component is there because I can right click and see the Flash option menu on my live page. But I can't get the video to play..or even show up.

I'm using Fireworks/Dreamweaver to build the site. I've imported a FLV (same size as the slice created for it) and it works fine in the Dreamweaver preview.

Flash 8 Video Component Cues
Can anyone tell me or point me to a tutorial on how to communicate with cue points that are added in the component inspector of the flv playback component? I do not understand how to talk to the name of the cue point or the parameters that need to be set. Flash Component: Video Conference
Hello, I'm using the FCVideoConference component, it basically allows webcams to be used through flash.

I'm trying to figure out how to keep track of people. For example, let's say only two people are going to video chat with each other. The id's are generated by random numbers, but how will I know which random numbers to call to?

[F8] Flash Component Shows, But The FLV Video Doesn't.

Multiple Movies In 1 Flash Video Component
Hello All!,

So I have 13+ minute â€œmovieâ€ broke down into chapters, 9 all together. As of right now each chapter is in its own separate movie file. I want the option of being able to turn on and off different chapters to play in sequence through the single video component. I have the file setup in director but for various reasons I was wondering if I could do the same thing in flash, unfortunately I do not know where to begin. Any help or direction where to get help would be greatly appreciated.

Once the first video ends, the next begins...

Currently our FLV player takes 1 filepath passed by FlashVars and plays it.

First things first... I just want to get the function of having one .flv file play after the first has finished... do I need some kind of listener?

Tracking Via Google Analytics & Flash Video Player Component
Hi,
I'm trying to track when a user plays a video on our home page. I'm using the standard Flash Video Player component and Dreamweaver to hook it up. In order to get the player to call Google analytics on play I think that I need the FLA for this player but I can't seem to figure out how to access it. Any suggestions?

Video With Synched Slides Used As A Video Component ?
I would like to take an existing Synched video and slide show .fla file and convert it to a FLV file for insertion onto a page with multiple videos. I was willing to try and convert to QT format and then convert to FLV and drop the video component on the page, however CS3 reqiuries you to output in flash 5 format for QT conversion....... CS3 wont let you convert synched slides and video below flash 6. Hope this makes sense to somebody.... I suppose there is a much better way to handle what I am trying to do.... Any help would be most appreciated ....

Video Player Component Using Flash Player 6
I'm streaming video using Flash Player 6. The problem I am having is that the video will only play at a super small size, something like 180 x 60 (that's a guess). Is there a way to play the video at the 320 width that I redered it as?
I'm using Flash Player 6 because some code that came with my purchased Flash Template does not work unless it's published to Flash Plaey 6.

Does anyone happen to know what would cause the controls for a standard video component to not show the controls (play, stop, volume etc...) in my site, they show up fine using test movie...

Just not when i view through a browser... The video still plays fine though, just the controls don't show up...

I have made sure to upload the external controls.swf as well...

Am I missing something...?

Help With Video Interface Component.. Anyone
I am using a video component (video player interface) in a multimedia cd interface. When I add a instance of the component (the stock component, unmodified) to my current flash interface (MX of course), save, and test the flash movie or projector file... the interface plays the correct movies, however no text displays in the movie title list or the counter at the top. The movies play correct and seem to be in a list of some sort because I can click on the title listing (though there are no video titles there). PS. the video component will play correctly and show the correct titles if I open it up directly and test it.

My deadline of end of the week is quickly coming up to have this project done and I am getting frantic here.....Please please help! Anyone?

Why Can't I See The Video Component Controls?
I am only using Flash MX 6, so I hope it is ok, but I am having a major problem.
First I need a video component that works, hopefully there is a few one that is floating around out there.
I have a QT.mov, I have converted it to flash and I drop a video component on it (surprisingly, it looks like the QT controls). I test the movie, it works, but when I use the swf in Dreamweaver on my page, the controls are no where to be seen. I can't see them, therefore they are useless to me!!
Has anyone else had this problem? How can I resolve it? Thanks in advance.

I'm new to flash Video Streaming. I have to change an existing application that actually allow my client to :

- broadcast live video form a emiter page
- client can se the live video with an reciever page

Both pages have been made by a non developper, so He used nothing else than FlashComm Components like AVConferences etc ...

My work is to change some features :

- create an archive video file into FlashComm server
- allow to broadcast a second sound Stream, in order to allow client to switch between the Video's sound track & the other sound Stream

I've seen this can be done throught code easylly ( record mode ), but my question is :

Can I adpat these components via parameters to change the Video mode, to record mode, or in client part, via code to put sound off ( sound of the video display component ? )

or

Should I right now destroy all the actual application and recreate it all with actionscript ? this means recreate also the simple login component, chat, presence etc component ?

Video Component Usage
I've created a simple video object using the 'New Video' option in the Library panel to dynamically load different .flv's when the user clicks on the link. When the videos come up there is no skin. How do I customize the video object and/or use the video components. Every time I try and use the FLVPlayback component I can't get it to work. Also, I'm not sure how to properly use the video component buttons. Could anyone recommend a good tutorial on using the flash video components or customizing the video object.

Frustrated By Video Component
I made a test movie just to try out the new MediaPlayback component included in MX 2004.

After following the tutorial on this site, I had no problem diplaying my .flv file in a bare bones, one frame swf movie. Of course as soon as I tried to implement the same thing on my actual web site, it didnt work. I followed all the same step and used the same exact file. When I test the movie, a white rectangle appears that reads: "player" and thats it. I even stripped away everything on a copy of my existing site so that only one frame and one layer remained. Tested it, and it didn't work. I cant imagine why not.. my test movie has the EXACT SAME SETTINGS!!. I checked about 40 times!!

What in the world is causing this to happen??

XML Video W/out List Component
Hey everyone, I'm trying to modify Lee's video XML file to have dynamic text boxes load in the video description instead of the list component, and I also have my flv's in a folder near the swf and fla, so they're not url's. I cannot get the text or the flv's to load and I've searched the forum for previous posts but didn't see anything similar to my situation. I'm new to the coding world! Can anyone help me?

Video Component And Squeeze Movies
Hi,

i downloaded the following video component:

when i use this component with movieclips (quicktimes etc) that were directly imported into flash and exist on the stage when exporting my swf, it works fine.

now that i want to have SOUND in my imported quicktime, too - i use "Sorenson Squeeze" to create swf files from quicktime movies.

I then load the external movieclip into a "named" clip in my main swf and want to control it again with that video component.

The only problem i have is - no matter if I attach the component or put it onto the stage when exporting, i cannot assign the instance name of the video to the component.

Does anyone have some experience with using squeeze movies AND this video component ??

I have been pondering for a few days on how to set my flv file I'm using as a entrance or splash screen prior to entering the main site. My only issue is that I would like it to automatically enter the site after the file has concluded instead of clicking on "Enter site" or "skip Intro" link. The file is on Frame 1 and the site starts on Frame 3. I tried on (complete) and onUnload and all sorts of other ideas, and still have not come up with anything except a website that loads, plays the main video, and then sits there on a black screen. Any Ideas?

Hi, Im trying to attach the volumeBar component to my video player which loads flv's from an xml file.

The usual code is;

Using The SeekBar Component For External Video
I'm trying to attach a seekbar to control an externally loaded flv that plays in my movie. I've managed to get the play/pause toggle button to work, but can't seem to find any way of attaching a seekBar to the video. I've managed it if the flv is embedded, but can't do it if it's external. Does anyone know a way of doing this?

Basically, there are 3 top-level buttons, each of which loats a different video. This I've got working fine, as with the play/pause button, but a way of using the seekbar is eluding me, so any help would be most appreciated. Here's the code I have:

Video Display Component Not Playing
My problem is that I want to play a recorded video in a VideoDisplay Component on client side which is kept in C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 3applicationsVideoStream folder on the server side. btw VideoStream is my created aplication.

I'm able to connect to server successfully and open a stream from there so that I can read the flv but during coding I could not find any property/method that could correlate my NetConnection and NetStream Object with VideoDisplay Object.

Please tell me how to go about it? Which property should I use to tell my VideoDisplay Object to read the stream? Do I need to add something to main.asc file in C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 3applicationsVideoStream?
