I have decided to switch web hosting and am looking for advice on the best web hosting suppliers. I don't want to be constrained by lack of resources on their end.....thanks for the info!

I know this has nothing to do with flash... but since I've answered so many of other peoples questions here...I thought maybe you guys could help me out...
Anyone know where I can find a "good" web hosting package? I want to find one that offeres cgi support and at least 50 megs of web space. I also would like to pay under 10 bucks a month. Anyone out there know? Perferrably respond if you actually bought a package through the same company...

I have made a forum that needs asp too work, i will only need about 10 meg of web space preferably without banners but can live with them fo a bit.

Hosting Swf On PC Help
I did up a swf file, the swf files actually connected to mysql database running on my pc.
I put the swf up on my IIS. So I can give the web address to other people so that they can connect to my IIS to see the swf file.
However, they are able to see my swf file and graphic. But as there are some links on the swf which need to connect to the database on my pc when clicked and some results will show.
What happens is when people clicks on the links, it did not show anything! While I see my my own pc, it works and show the results.
Does anyone know how I can fix my IIS or my flash such that when they click on the link which reads the database and display result, it can show up on their IE as well?

Hi all,
I have got my Flash sorted, no worries there.
It all works lovely, locally.
When I upload it to my hosting company (Linux running Apache), the pre-loader works, then stops at 100% and nothing happens.
My hosting company have said the following:-

Hi, I'm trying to set up a live streaming webcam in my flash website. From what I understand, you are able to install the FMS software on your own computer and transmit directly to your web host (I have done this with the trial version). If so, what are the benefits going with a hosting provider like Media Temple or Influxis, which has FMS capabilities on their servers?

What exactly is needed to host Flash files?
My ISP offers webspace to all thier broadband customers, but when trying to make my index page a swf it doesnt work. I called them and they said they dont support flash for that. I dont understand what is needed for this. I can place an html index page pointing to my swf and that works fine. Is there any way around this?

More Hosting Problems
I appreciate all the advice FKers gave me on getting my domain off FeaturePrice. I presented my client with several new hosting options and he chose Go Daddy. Fine. I managed to get the domain transferred and set up a hosting account with Go Daddy. Not to badmouth GD but I have so far run into 3 major problems with them:
1) Despite my numerous requests for FTP information so that I could have all the files on the new server BEFORE the domain transfer went through I did not receive any of the FTP information until after the domain had been switched (the information was right there for me on the 404 page that all the site's users were getting while I was frantically trying to upload all the files)
2) They have diabled the sendpath for cgi scripts so that the cgi script I was using to handle the site's forms will not work and I am basically stuck using their script which sorts information alphabetically and does not have an auto-reply.
3) We are unable to access the domain's email except through GD's webmail! This is a MAJOR problem! I have contacted GD (starting to think that stands for something other than Go Daddy, btw) who said that it is a problem with Outlook Express (I have also tried to access the email w/ Eudora to no avail) which they don't support!!! I know Outlook Express isn't a popular or commonly used program or anything...<g> I have triplechecked the POP3, SMTP, password and username. GD has verified that all of this information is correct but all I get is that annoying little password pop-up box in Outlook and an error message about authorization in Eudora GD's webmail has a 3MB storage limit but you can buy more space from them if you need it <rolling eyes> and I'm really starting to think that this is not a coincidence!
Has anyone else encountered similar problems? If so, how did you fix it?!? I really don't want to transfer the domain AGAIN but this is ridiculous: my client needs to be able to access his email through his normal email client which already contains all the old emails and contact information of HIS clients!

Web Hosting? I Need Guidance:)
Hello, I have been asked by a friend to design a small site for her in flash, she wants a full domain name so I can't use a free service. I have a few questions about the role of a small, home based designer.
1. I don't have the knowledge or money to host the site myself, so what is the procedure for hosting her site? Do I find a hosting company and tell her what the yearly fee is, and then she pays for it? Is that what most home based designers do?
2. When we have decided on the name for the site, eg www.hersite dot com, do I have to go to any sort of agency and secure the name first, or do I just go to the web hosting company we have chosen and let them sort this out?
3. I realise that FTP must be used to send my files to the host but I don't know anything about this procedure - any advice?
These questions must seem stupid but I have spent most of my time learning studio MX and have not delved into the site hosting side at all. It seems vague and I can't seem to find answers on any forums, that's why I have chosen to come to you people.
I hope you have the time to review my questions and kindly offer advice.

Hosting PHP Scripts Help
I done up a few PHP scripts for the connection of my Flash program to a database located on another server.
What I do is i uploaded the php scripts into the my web hosting server. I created a folder called Class and another folder called Form.
As I did the same on my local pc which I have php server setup and install. I tried to run one of the php script in Form folder and it returns me the results from the database.
But when I try to run the php script from the web hosting server's Form folder, I get error:
Warning: main(../class/clsExerciseEducation.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/nrevic/public_html/Form/getexercise.php on line 2
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '../class/clsExerciseEducation.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/nrevic/public_html/Form/getexercise.php on line 2
Basically I just put the 2 folders in the public_html folder of the web hosting server and i run the address as http://mywebhost/Form/getexercise.php?MuscleID=1Gender=M
It gives me the error on top.
Heres the 2 files. clsExerciseEducation.php which resides on Class folder and getexercise.php resides on Form folder.
