well im having a problem....i never really had the need to do this but im trying to make some buttons anime into a screen and then let the user be able to jump from screen to screen but for some reason im having a problem with that ....can someone plz help me out i hope im clear enough if not then plz let me know...hehe thanx
Outlines Around Flash Anime In Explorer
testing some flash work on a number of different computers and found that on one computer white outlines appear around any flash animation when the mouse passes over it. Once clicked the outlines disappear and will not reappear. Only appears to happen with the lastest version of Explorer (PC) as all other browsers arn't effected. Anyone run into this before?

Flash 8 Timeline Anime Issue
Im not sure if this issue has arisen yet but here it goes.
In Flash 8 if you have a mvclip animating on the timeline and inside that mvclip you have a tween with a stop action at the end, the clip wont start from the beggining on the same layer if you add keyframes on the same layer. You have to put the clip on a new layer on a new keyframe if you want it to repeat the tween from the beginning. I'm sure this is a new feature in Flash 8, but it is throwing a monkey wrench in my work flow. I am trying not to double the amount of layers i would normally use in animating. I can see how it can be a good thing, but also a bad thing since i am used to the older Flash MX04 method. Any thoughts or easy work arounds? Thanks.

Ultra-smooth Anime: Actionscript Or Tweening?
Hi, I'm not exactly a newbie in flash having first delved into the program a couple years back, but my experience is mainly limited to animations with fading images, nothing really advanced, nor any AS experience (but i do understand some basic concepts). My question is...Do the latest crop of flash sites use actionscripting or tweening to acheive ultrafast, ultra smoothe animations?

The are gazillion others but you got the idea...
The point being after years of sticking to html-only I'm about to develop several sites in the near future which will require intros, and I just don't believe tweening will cut it for this kind of animation. Any tips?
[F8] Button Anime... Onrelease.. Void Other Functions
I have a btn with 2 functions on it.
there is a simple rollon and rolloff animation.
I now am trying to put a onrelease function of the btn.
The onrelease will move the btn to a different location.. which causes a problem because once it moves away from the mouse it plays the roll off function...
how do i disable the rolloff functions for this section only

Question About Animating Cartoons And Anime In Flash
I have just started learning flash 8 proffessional and i LOVE it, i already know hwo to build a fully featured and functional website, so that one objective off the list.
however i am wanting to do a big project now, animating a short film. but i want to know how capable flash is. i have seen programs like anime studio and toon boom get great remarks, but if i can do it all in flash i would rather since im getting so much into it and learning it fast, plus ToonB and AnimeS have very little tutorial content.
i want to know a few things though, firstly is it easy (by easy i mean is the program functional and provide good features to help the user) to animate humans, and clothes? and also is there a rigging feature of some kind. eg. in anime studio you can create bones for the 2d character.
also if you could link to some projects and films that have been created in flash that would also be great!

Dear Users,
I'm currently putting together a little non-profit flash animator team called Redghost Entertainment. I'm looking for good skilled animators who are serious and responsable. Again this is non profit, but in the near future, if we begin to make profit then that's a whole different story.
I've currently have a story in the works, which will be our first project, if you decide to join me. This is not yet animated, i would do it myself, but I'm new to flash and my skills are not advanced enough. I'll give you more information on teh current story. The story envolves two CIA agents. One in wich is Max, an undercove for a group of American terrorist, who sells leathal weapons to other countries that are enemys of the state.No one knows he's an agent except one man, the ringmaster of the CIA recruiting unit, which is where he saw Max and recommended him for special undercover training.The Other agent Tom just works for the CIA and is slowly climbing up on the CIA VIP list he too was a recruit but was not sumbited to the special training as Max and is just a normal agent. As the story progress, you soon realize that nothing is what it seems, and it soon becomes a story of who works for who. Who's side is whom on.Has Max turned evil since he's been in undercover too long, or does the terrorist have there own little spy. That's a basic intro to the story.
For the design i was looking to do something dark, like the x-files type thing, with cross over with matrix style action shooting. With heavy metal, techno, and all sort of awsome music. The whole story will be divided up into 4 epidsodes. The style of the cartoons will be like the way they design the characters for teh band Gorillaz. Aswell to make things look darker, we could use only 3 or 5 shades of grey to black.

Hi, I'm really new to flash, and the only animator I currently have is 3D Flash Animator. I can't seem to figure out how to actually make an animation, so far. I'm just wondering if you guys know of any really simple animators I could use. I'm only planning to do stick animations at the moment, and I dont think I need all the fancy vectoring and layer masks and stuff. Thank you in advance,

Classical Animators, Please Help
Hi all!!
I'm working on a new project and it has some classical animation techniques which I know in theory but I never used.
My boss gave me this incomplete Flash animation and I have to finish it as soon as possible. The animation has 3 different sizes of frames and a cross in the middle which I know is the center of the movie. I read that those frames were used by the camera in old times but why would Flash need 3 different frames?
In Flash when I want to do a zoom in or out, I just make the whole animation bigger or smaller. Does he want me to choose between those? Or there is something else that I don't know? Which size should I use?

Flash Animators Opinions
Hey People,
I'm working on a site for a particular client who owns a manufactured housing dealer. The client wants a virtual tour type thing (something like http://www.mesquitecanyonhomesinc.com/vls_2867VT.htm click one of the red deals, hope this isn't breaking the rules as it isn't my site). Now I'm not a flash designer my self so I'm going to probably have to outsource it. I've taken a couple courses in Java though an am pretty proficient, but I don't have the time and I prefer flash in this case.
How much would a flash designer charge (would need to be a "dynamic" sort of deal so I could set it up for different houses, probably need to integrate with PHP/mySQL) reasonably to do something like that? I'm thinking of just going to RentACoder and posting a bid request. How would you recommend I do this? How hard is something like this to do? Any input is greatly appreciated.
Flash Animators Wanted For Fan Film
(I'm not sure if I posted this in the right section. I didn't see an 'Animators Wanted' type section. Sorry if this is the wrong place, and feel free to move it, mods.)
I'm making a feature-length Jurassic Park fan film (you can see a teaser for it here: www.martinrandle.co.uk/jp/JP4Teas.mov, or email me if that doesn't work) that will be almost entirely Flash animated with some live action scenes (about 7 minutes) and some CG scenes. Right now, I'm doing all the Flash myself and I'm looking for other people who might be interested in helping out and who are willing to work for free. Before I go on, let me tell you a little general info about this film.
The story is about a virus - the same virus that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago - that is now threatening to bring on the extinction of the human race. When dinosaur carcasses start washing up on the shores of South America, a team of scientists from the C.D.C. (and Alan Grant) under the protection of a military squad, are sent to the island to study living specimens and find out why they are all suddenly falling ill. When they learn about the virus, it quickly becomes a race to save humanity from extinction. The government orders the destruction of Isla Sorna immediately - and, since the team members themselves may have contracted the virus, abandons them on the island. The team now has less than six hours to find out if they're infected with DX and try to find some way off the island before the bombs hit - all while having to survive those nasty dinosaurs.
I have the script and I can send it to you at your request. I plan to have this finished by next February and released on the web with a possible free DVD release. I'm a broke film school student so I can't pay you but you'll get credit for your work, and have it be seen by likely a wide audience (just my teaser had over 3,000 viewings).
The way it'll be done is with Flash animation with voice over dialouge, sound effects, and music. If you think you could do a half a minute, 5 minutes, one shot, or whatever... that would be cool. Any help would be appreciated. We can get started with me describing what I'd like right away, or if you're busy at the moment, you can do it whenever you convenient. Like I said, I plan to have in finished around a year from now, so no rush!

Animators- Satisfied With Flash Tools?
For those of you animators usin MX 2004 as your medium... Are you satisfied with the drawin tools in Flash? Or do you use a 2nd program to conjure your pictures?
I'm lookin for some more freedom w/ colors and shading and brushes and I'm curious as to what you guys do? I've been inkin my figures in flash as of late, but I draw with a graphics tablet and I want some more out of my tablet rather than having such simple characters. I like to do lots of detail on my characters.
Any input welcomed!!!!
Can You Give Animators Some Quick Tips?
OK there's a site called newgrounds.com which is FULL of flash animators who make awsome flash. Though most of them dont... that's why I decided to make a tutorial and submit it there. Can you guys give me some quick actionscript or drawing tips which would help them? Keep in mind when i told some members startDrag(this); and adding a box in the hit section of a button to make it easier to click.. they were amaized here's what my menu looks like now.
Ofcource I'll change the design later and I I added 2 photoshop tutorials and a dressup game option because they're MAD about that . All options are working. Any tips? Suggestions? Simple codes? Drawing techinqes? ANYTHING welcome

Anime Style "rushing" Animation
Hi,
I need to find a good example of a flash animation of the classic anime style "rushing" animation. Dragonball z tend to use it a lot but its basically just a load of rushing white blurred lines that are used to make things look like they're going real fast.
Anyone know any good examples?
