Flash Background Sound Loops
I've been attempting to use flash to create a simple .swf that serves as a background sound loop for a web page. The problem is that when I set the sound file to loop, an annoying skip is heard as the sound repeats. This occurs for mp3 and wav loop files and doesn't seem to be a problem that is flash-only (Frontpage wants to do the same thing with background loops). I've tried different sound card drivers and I've tried editing the sound files themselves to align the start and finish. I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Can't Get Background Sound To Loop Without Small Pause Between Loops...help.
I have small 9 second sound clip that I want to loop in my flash project. I import the sound into a layer, and set it to repeat 999 times, and sync=event.

When I play my movie, the sound plays through once, then there is a split second of silence, then the sound starts again. The silence is NOT from the actual sound its self, but it seems when flash "rewinds" the sound to the beginning, it pauses the sound slightly, thus it does not sound SEEMLESS.

What do I have to to to make the sound seemless?

As I have it right now, the sound is in its own layer within a scene. The sound is not in a movie clip.

Selecting Between 3 Background Audio Loops.
Hi everyone. I'm a bit of a flash newbie, I'm trying to figure out how to allow a user to select one of 3 background audio loops to play. Maybe have 4 options, one for each of the three loops and an off.

I'm using MX2004 and the project I'm working in is in ActionScript 2.0. Any assistance is appreciated. I'll be honest, I don't really know what I'm doing.

Subsequent Sound Loops Sound Quieter
Anyone else noticed this in Flash MX?

I have a sound loop which is fine when initially played, but then its subsequent loops play at a quieter volume.

Extra info:

I have a movieclip which has the sound placed in its first frame.

The sound is set to "start" as opposed to "event" or "stream"

The sound in the library has a linkage that only exports for Actionscript.

The wav sound has an export setting (via the library) for Mp3, and is not overridden by the publish settings.

Anyone know the reason for the reduction in volume for subsequent loops?

Sound? I Dloaded Those Sound Loops But How?
I can't import them it just shows a black screen... and i just can't get them into a movie at all!!! how do you use those loops they have here??

I recently got my entire hard drive flushed.. and i lost everything, so i'm having to start from the ground up.. im over it.. well i finally set it back up and have everything up and running. I never really liked the loops I had saved, so i was wondering if any of you know of any good places to download some good quality loops, or for those of you who make your own music, can you recommend any good programs? I tried to use Acid Pro 3.0 but i could never make seamless loops, so any advice about how to do it with Acidpro.. other programs, or good sites would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I would like to start creating my own sound loops. Just wondering what steps are best to take... Is there a particular program or something that is used to record? I have a multitrack recorder but it seems that the file sizes would be much too big. I'm new to flash and not familiar with it's compression capabilities. I have an .mp3 that I would like to loop.

My problem is, I always seem to get a half second of dead air before the loop starts over again. Is there an easy way to get rid of that half second that FLASH seems to put in as it's looping back around?

Does anybody know a way to loop a sound throughout a whole site without it starting over everytime the user loads another page. Also i want to be able to control the sound (on/off) with a button in flash but i dont know how to do this considering the whole site isnt created in flash. There are just a few flash movies to the site. one in which holds a sound loop. I just dont want it to start over everytime the user switches pages.

I am using Flash MX 2004 and cannot get my sound loop to play. I dragged my sound file into the frame and the sound appears and plays when I drag the play head along the timeline but does not play when I play the movie. I have no stop action on the frame and do not have the sound on an event. Is there something I am missing?

I have recently been testing out using sound loops in my swfs to add some spice.. that works fine...except, when it loops i notice a small gap. the loops themselves are seemless. i've tried event, start and stream (stop doesnt work) -- no luck. Any ideas..

sorry!! i had a thread about this but i can`t find it no longer.
i use few seconds sound loops with attachSound and loadMovie. it works ok in what concerns AC but but the loops are interrupted and are not playing fluently even though i edited them very carefull.

how can i make loops that play fluently??????

i have inserted a sound loop into my flash movie. Is there a way to get rid of that minor delay when the loop repeats itself? You can hear when the loop repeats and I am looking for a smooth transition.

I have problems with looping sound in flash5. I have mp3 sound that loops in the scene, it fades in and I dont know, how to make that at the certain keyframe this looping music fades out and stops playing.

Hey, I'm new to this forum and I have 2 questions

Here's the scenario: I want a song to play on my website, but the thing is that it takes up to much space, so what I decided to do was to cut it in 2, so I have an intro to the song, and then a continous loop that follows.

What must I do so that the intro plays, and then right after its finished the loop comes in?

Is this possible?

Other q:
Is there actionscript code that will display how many seconds ellapsed in a sound file, for example in my music player on the site

im about to embark on a small flash presentation for our company. im looking for some funk/jazzy background music. becuase its not destined for the web, i dont want to limit myself to a 10 second sound loop, but i cant find anything longer (ive been on flash kit, and although the samples were great, theyre just not long enough). can anyone help me out. i dont want to just rip off one of my cds for copyright reasons.

is there any chance i could find something like that loop for free?

Im unsure if this is really the place to post this, but I'm looking to purchase cd / cd 's of sound fx.

I'm looking for quality stuff, nothing run-of-the mill.

I'm aware that most of the things are produced on an as-needed basis, but I'm just curious as to if there's any top prospects in regards to *buying* quality sound fx/loops on CD's.

Any URL's comments would be appreciated.

I am having troubles adding sound to my movies.

I have added an MP3 file that keeps looping throughout the movie (ok, so I've looped it 999 times)

But everytime the sound loops, for a fraction of a second there is a small jerk and the sound seems to have stopped before picking up from there.

Can someone guide me how to make the sound loop smoothly?

ok then..

I've created my sound loop in cool edit pro (it is looping well).
I import it into flash 5, and using the Sound Object..

mySound= new Sound();
mySound.attachSound("loop");
mySound.start(0,999);
to keep it looping for a while

the loop though sounds terrible, with a very definate 'gap'.

Anyone had this kind of problem? most importantly have you solved it!

Hello,
I am adding a 36 second mp3 file to my flash movie.
I want it to start at the beginning of the movie automatically and only play once.
My movie is about 50 seconds long, so for the last 14 seconds, there should be silence.

I have tried all sorts of methods to make this happen, but to no avail.
The sound always loops (even when I tell it to repeat 0 times).

Please help if you can?

I have a client that I have made a site for (www.answerware.com). I have a soundclip that loops 5000 times. The problem is, he only wants it to loop for about 2 minutes or 25 times. I can do that, no problem, but I don't want it to just end abrubptly, so my question is...
... how do I have a sound loop a certain amount of times, then fade out on the last time?

If u make a sound object using the script:

loopA.attachSound("loopA");
loopA.start (0, 500);

Is there a way to script this telling flash "if loop is played 5 times, gotoandPlay frame whatever?
