Anyone know where I can find/buy a component that creates this flip book effect or a tutorial that shows me. I found a component online for $25 but only for PCs. I need one for Macs. The effect doesn't necessarily have to drag either. The user can just click on the bottom of the booklet and the page can turn. Thanks!

Book Pages Effect
I need help getting started with creating a book...like page flip effects and everything. It's a new layout I'm going to make.

Now, I read through all of the other questions pertaining to mine, and didn't find any tutorials...I did however find 1 site that has the exact effect that I want to obtain.

But it's not what I want. First, if I can just get some help on how to start out with creating pages and then I'll go from there.

So, how do I start? I know it deals with masking, but I don't know where to exactly begin. I'm starting from scratch, creating my own pages, etc. ...So, can someone help me out here? How do I create the pages?

The only other time I use masks is in photoshop, so is dealing with masks the same in Flash?

'Book' Effect In Flash With Pages...
I posted this up on the Cool Sites forum but it's something that has facinated me. This is probably old news but has anyone seen the Cut Chemist site at www.cutchemist.com? A fully interactive 'scrapbook' with turnable pages by dragging the corners up and over?

I have seen some tutorials for books on here and also it seems pretty easy to work out how to do a very basic one like the one found at www.mattisimo.com. But never before have I seen anything like this!!! How would you get it so you can actually pull the pages across?

this isnt somthing i've done, but i've never seen it before, so i'd thought i'd share it.

Click the "episodes" link at the bottom, and it loads up a book, you can then click on the edges of the book, and turn the page.

The pages also can be moved up and down, left and right, and they fold in real time with the writing. (also, no "hand" appears to say there is a button their)

I'm sure some of you will have seen this before, or even know how to do it, but i just thought it was cool.

I'm trying to get a simple fade effect to work with the "Realistic book page flip" found at http://www.flashkit.com/movies/3D/Ps...0710/index.php
However when I get near the corners with the mouse the effects are reset and start over.
I'm ready to pull my hair out because I can't find a solution!
Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Client Wants Flipping Book Page Effect
i've got a client who wants that flipping page book effect

i'll need to find a way to load the pages dynamically from a db though. (probably php, mysql, xml).

1. anyone know of a good source for figuring out the effect?

2. what issues are there with trying to load 100-200 "pages"? I imagine i'll have to load three at at time (prev, current, next) and somehow move throught the array and keep three mc's loaded with the appropriate pages. any input would be great!

Moving Clouds/Object Outline Effect/Buttons Effect - Please Help Me Help My Friend
I've neglected flash for years, mainly because it seems extremely confusing. I've tried to get into it, but it's confusing with 50 different objects in the flash project going on at once, how do you work with all that?

Anyway, I'm doing a website for a friend of mine, and I had this really cool idea that I've seen around and would like to add on to this and give him a nice surprise.

Basically I would like to add a moving clouds loop in the background, similar to this: http://www.templatemonster.com/websi...ates/9630.html

(actually I'd be fine with any button effect )

And I'd be happy with just the cloud effect lol. I looked around for tutorials but none of them seem to be what I'm looking for.

I would like the clouds to blend in with the blue background gradient, but I don't know how to do this, in Photoshop it's Overlay. I've tried Alpha in flash, but all that does is change the opacity.

How Do I Change The TextArea Component OnFocus Green Outline Effect? I Can See The Same Effect On This Text Input Box

I have a textArea. When I click on the tab key, the focus shifts to the textArea. And along with this a green outline comes around the textArea. How can I avoid the textArea outline color? IS there any way I can modify this?

I had once modified the checkBox component styles by editing a swf. Later I loaded this swf to the flash library. Can i do it something like that?
Will I have to use some AS code for this?

Timeline Effect Same Effect Multiple Images Layout
I'm trying to use the timeline effect on some transparent .png or gif file's...
All I want to do is create say a 100 frame effect... have it fade in at the beginning and out at the end for .png 1.
Then be able to re-use the effect without having to step back through the timeline effects creator dialogue for .png 2 and so on...
In other words I want to create multiple movie clips all w/ the same animation timeline... and then have them easy to edit on the main timeline maybe overlapping a little etc.
Also the client will probably want to tinker w/ adding new images and suggesting which one's should go first in the fade in and out string of animation's which take place simply one at a time on the stage.
Here's a basic link for what I've got.... the machine images should be easily changed maybe even loaded as a seperate .swf or something:

The main priority being the main movie timeline should be easy to edit w/ the movieclips... this is prolly a newbie question, but I'm having trouble keeping this simple, for editing in the long run...

Im seriously getting into the scripting side of flash, but want a good.. no great recommendation for a book. I don't want just the good pictures and easy to copy codes, but something that will TEACH me about actionscripting so that i can design my own unique ideas. Help much appreciated!

To Book Or Not To Book
Lo everyone,

I am, as most people on this forum, an absolute complete newbie. I'm 16 years old, and I really want to learn Flash well, for various reasons. Now my problem is the following:

I've been experimenting with Flash a lot lately, but now I really want to learn it the right way. I saw a book in the store, which is just out (Flash 5 Grand Cru if anyone has it, it's in Dutch). Now I was wondering whether it is worth to buy that book or not. I have no problem with paying for it, but would it be worth it, or is there more then enough reading for newbies on the Internet. I did search for tutorials on the Internet, but never did I find one which builded up from the start to the end. They always specify a different aspect of the program.

Now, what should I do? Do notice that that book is in my native language, Dutch, and althought I do not have much problems with writing and reading English, maybe Dutch would be better.

Please give me your honorable advice.

If you are a Flash user and you want to build games or just learn actionscript, then "Flash 5 ActionScript for Fun and Games" is definitely the book for you. I knew little about ActionScript before, then I bought this book and I've learned a ton of valuable stuff and I'm not even done with the book. "Flash 5 ActionScript for Fun and Games" is a must-have.

(P.S. This book assumes that you have basic skills in the drawing and animating areas of Flash, because it is mainly a book about ActionScript)
