Copy Pasting A Project Into A Keyframe Of Another Project
This is what I want to do,

Here's the project that I'd like to incorporate into my own site,

And this is the timeline for my site, I want the above to work in the Chronicle keyframe,

I don't know if it's possible to copy paste the project into that keyframe, or how can I do this? I downloaded a free flash book that opens up and shows a certain text, and I want to incorporate it into a page on my site, that's it in a nutshell.

Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

Second Flash Project :(
Got stuck on my second flash project... would appreciate some advice here. What I intended to do is:

(1) import a small mpeg/wmv file into flash

(2) add in some effects in flash

(3) export it into a suitable format for streaming

My problem now is:

(1) the import file: can it be played at a different speed once in stored into the flash, or do I have to play around with it before I import?

(2) What is the "recommended" setting/format for streaming?

Is This Project Possible In Flash?
I have a client who wants an interactive application. I'm still new to Flash, so I need to know if this is possible, or do I need to look at some other program?

I need to have 6 to 8 layers of movies which can be moved up or down in their stacking order. I think that MovieClip.swapDepths could work for that, but I haven't tried it yet, so I'm not sure.

The second and most important requirement is that I need to use a dynamic alpha channel mask for each movie clip. I have alpha channel quicktime movie clips of each subject, but I gather that quicktime movies can't be used to mask other quicktime movies.

I have tried setMask but I'm having no luck using that to mask one quicktime clip with another. I have made outines of the alpha channel, put them into a movie clip and tried masking with that, but I get lateral tearing of the mask when the movie runs.

Single frames of the outlines work fine as masks, but when I string 8 or 12 together into an animation loop and use that as a mask, the mask tears and gets holes in it.

So, could I set the alpha channel mask in say, After Effects, and import this into Flash, or do the masks have to be set in Flash?

I would dig some guidance, I could also be interested in sub-contracting this if I can do this project for my client.

I am working on a website which offers customized gifts the gifts are wooden made wordings placed on a heart shaped wooden base this wordings can be customized. Please give me some guidelines to work on this project. Like how can I import 3d letters (typos)in to flash. If I have use transparent gifs of the rendered letters how to get rid of the jagged edges so that I can place the same letters anywhere on the the base.Is there any other better solutions and views? im working on flash project where i have created several flash demos on how to use my companys software...basic non interactive movie demos...and my boss seems to want a bar at the bottom that shows the progess of the demo..sortof like in windows media player....does anyone know any sample fla's i could look at or maybe have some tips on how to make one of these? im not that great with flash and im really the design guy but they gave me a flash project and im trying to tackle it. thanks alot and i appriciate any help you can give me.

DVD Flash Project Help...?

I am having a problem with flickering with this Flash dvd project I am making. I played around with the color settings in FCP and actually exported a DVD and burned it in DVD Studio pro....but I am still having problems with the flickers and also the type seems really eaten up ir blurry. Maybe I am not setting the right bitrate when exporting to MPEG 2 for the DVD...I exported it at a variable rate of 6.5 to 7.8

HEre's what I am actually making...its a online version and it's near what the DVD version looks like except for type is bigger....and some colors are different. The top left seems to be flickering the most.

There's basically like 6 Flash movies which I exported from Flach MX as a quicktime and brought into FCP on different sequences.

Im at a loss....the flickering seems mainly at edges of shapes...and also I tested the DVD on multiple TVs and the edges are not totally straight on the sides...but it varies from TV to tv it seems.

I've completed a Flash project, which was designed for CD rather than a web page. How do I transfer it to CD? E.g. How does the links work on CD, what would they be (extension etc)?

I am getting ready to create a project in flash and I needed some insight from the pros. The project involve the following:

- A Database to be ramdomly accessed
*This Database will contain strings of ramdom numbers and letter
forming words - such as passwrods and stuff.

*This sring of data will be itemised and divided into subjects to
be accessed by writing or selecting the name of the desired group
into an input field.

- A Data converting tool
*This will involve converting data to numbers or vice versa; for
instance if I want to convert a word such as "pencil" to its value
in hexagecial numbers all I would do is enter the word in a an
input field and a script will look out for the results stored in
the Database and then giving out the results.

This flash project is to be run in a PDA flash player "Sony Clie PEG-NZ90/U".

I've been working on some DemoCD project.

I figured out how to make links to URL's and e-mails.
I pretty much made each page of the project its own EXE file...

How Do I combine multiple pages into one EXE file?
(yes I still have all the project files.)

Also I need to know how to link from each file within the EXE.
As well as mouse over, text color change (for simple links).

Would also like to know how to mouse over and make more text appear
(Topic, branching out, then back in as cursor is removed)

I know its alot, but I can't find how to do these things, and I've been reading multiple tutorials and through forums for the last few days... its just been making me very irritable...

Ok, here is what I want to do.

I have a video of someone. And I want to make buttons such as jump, crouch etc..

When you click on jump, the video plays the video jumping. Press crouch, and it will play the video of crouching.

I played around a bit, and did this in the timeline, I put labels, and then did everything. But the problem i encountered was that when i put 3 commands, whenever i clicked on the last label, it would play from label 1 to 3. So you saw all the labels.

Should I use scenes, or should I put everything in the main timeline using labels?

Help With Flash Project
I'm currently working on a Flash MX 6 presentation at school. I am seriously behind and need help. The main problem i have it that the version i have at home is Flash MX 6 trial. So it doesnt have certain fonts. I sent the original FLA file to my email so i can open it at home and work on it but the font is set to another font, not Wide Latin. So the entire presentation looks weird. Anyone know if i can fix this or save it and send it back to school (edited with changes to animation)without changing the font?

Also, before i open the fla file i sent from school, it says has a message which reads.."one or more fonts used by this movie are not availible.Substitute fonts will be used for display and export. They will not be saved to the Macromedia Flash authoring document?"

What does that mean? It means that once i save and finish and send it back to school, the original text will still remain?

Hi, I am very new at flash i just got it because i want to learn it and i am interested to make alot of stuff out of flash in the future. Using Flash MX 2004 I'm tasked to create a seating chart for a school and I believe I can do this in flash. I'm envisioning it working like this but am open to suggestions:

A diagram of a class room can be pulled up and what I would like to be able to do is to pull up a list of images from a directory on the web server and literally drag and drop those images onto that classroom layout and somehow save that layout and be able to pull that saved file when needed; I'm also intending to print this out also. So I figured I'd take a chance and post and see if I could get some pointers on things I may not have considered in taking on a project like this. Any insight or hints and helps are appreciated.

I want to create a site where you customize a face based on graphics that I would make. The part that is throwing me off is what to use to make all the features fit seamlessly on the head. Of course I would also need to a preview area for those trying out the different features.

[F8] How Do I Add A .swf To Another Flash Project?
I have my websites design, everything is great...but I want to add a form I created with 'CoffeeCup Flash Form Builder' to it. When I saved the flash form , it contained myform.html, myform.swf, myform.php, myform.xml.

This is how I see it...

the .html loads the .swf
the .swf is the flash movie in where users enter there information
the .xml is just the layout, colors and such
the .php is what actually takes the information from the .swf and emails it.

soo, how do I throw this into another flash website I have going ?

I am fairly new to using flash and I am having some issues with using it. I am currently taking a course for flash and am doing quite well in the class, the problem that I am having is when I do my projects I have been creating new files for each project. My final is to have a full working site and the book that I have does not show how to connect all of the projects together so that they run smoothly together. I asked a friend of mine who uses flash and he was not sure. I am not asking for anyone to complete my projects for me, that I can do, I just need some guidance on how to make all of my projects connect to each other.

Is Flash Right For My Project?
I am challenged with developing an application in which we will manage construction worksite locations across a multi-building campus. The goal is to have an overall campus map with clickable building areas. Once clicked the, floorplan of the building would open showing the current work areas. Work areas would be added to the floorplan by drawing polygons on the screen and then the user would be promted for project specific information.

I am to new to everything Adobe, except Reader of course, and am wondering if creating a Flash application is the way to go, and what Adobe would be best used to do it in.

Hi all we are looking to emulate something like this but on a smaller scale

and I was wondering if anyone knew of any tutorials that cover things like this. To break it down the abaility to drag and drop objects around a screen add then to a timeline, add a text overlay and pre-defind sound overlay and then play the whole complilation.

Flash Best For This Project?
I've got an idea for a web based learning game.

Basically it's a derivative of hangman. The game chooses a random word, based on the difficuly setting and category the player chose. It will display empty blocks, one for each letter in the selected word. As the player selects letters, it adds points for correct guesses and substracts points for wrong guesses. At the point when the player has completed the word, it will go into learning mode for that word (gives the definition, provides audio pronunciation, and example sentances). In addition, the total points the player won will be added to the player's overall total.

The game will need to be 100% data-driven. I'll be building the main portion of the site in .Net 2.0 (authentication, payment, etc). The tools to populate and maintain the database will also be built with .net 2.0.

First, I want to know if it is best to build this type of game with flash? or is there another technology I should look into that would be more appropriate?

Second, what do you think a project like this could cost to outsource? If I make it myself, it will be a learning project and take a long time (I'm a .net developer, haven't delved into Flash too much yet).

FAQ: How Do You Set Up You Flash Project?
I'm curious as to how other people do this. Right now how I do it is I have the main navigation load in on _root or _level0 and a movieclip that loads everything else on _level1. How do you guy set up your projects.

I'm actually very curious because this is the only way I can think of that makes smooth transistions since only movies on _level1 get changed out. The navigation on _root always remains constant. And this keeps download times down.

Recently i got a flash project where the requirement is, i have to call all the contents from an "xml" file i tried and i could able to do it.
My client needs an enhancement in that flash project.He wants to addup a flash video inside the main content area and the presentation to be done as a slideshow like the first slide will be in normal motion tween animation and the second slide will be a flash video,all the images and contents will be called from an "xml" file.

My question is "how to do the motion tween animation and flash video in the same available space" ?

Hi,

We are currently planning a project for one of our clients. The idea of the project is to create a CD that auto runs. First there will be a screen which will have a list of the Titles of books. The user selects the books and then clicks on save to disc button and the selected books need to be saved on to a location on the hard disc with separate folders for each book title.

Now the question is this, is this possible in Flash? If yes then what is the method? Do you have any sample projects or some help on the Internet which you know?

If no, then is there some thing else that we can use instead of flash?

I really appreciate any advice that can help us.

Help! I'm the Flash animator in my school for our Colonial Flash Project! It's due next week! We are supposed to make a flash cartoon that shows the French and Indian War, the Quatering Act, and the Stamp Act. Our group already recorded the dialogues, but I still need to do animations!
