Change Stage Size (not Scale) Based On Browser Size?
Not sure this can be done. I've looked through LOTS of resizing tutorials, but they don't do exactly what I want, and I'm not sure it's possible.
Basically, I have a slideshow that loads from xml and fades in a variety of sizes of images in random positions. I'm trying to set it up so that the swf (which is in a div tag in an interface) will resize depending on the browser size and will use the NEW stage size to determine the x/y position of the images (without resizing them) and will skip any images that are too big for the stage size...
Any ideas if this is possible? Dynamically sizing and determining the "working area" of a swf based on the browser/div size?? Any tutorials out there?? I can figure out the code, I just need to know where to start...

Change Movie Clip Size Without Changing Whole Swf Size?
ok this is kind of hard to phrase this question... but i have a movie clip and there is stuff in the movie clip i dont want to be seen... i thought about hidding it behind a white background but that doesnt work because it covers up other movie clips that i have.. so is there a way to set what can be seen in a movie clip

Why Does It Change In Size?
I was wondering why when I maximize my browser my flash also gets larger.. It makes it look a bit distorted, slow, and low in resolution. Is there any way I can fix this? I'm new at this by the way.

As I have tried to change the size but when I do I can no longer see the 'E'.
So I make it bigger and its there again so I imagine it is aligned or something like that.

Is There A Way To Change Font Size In AS?
i have a movieclip that contains a word.
when i click on some button i want that same word to be bolded and 12 point font instead of 10 point non bolded. is there a way to change font attributes through Actionscript? i looked through the actionscript reference and was surprised cuz i couldn't find anything on changing font attributes.

HELP Can't Change Movie Size
I have tried every way possible to change a movie size to 300x450. I want it to play back on a web page (http://www.tapestryproductions.com/alitest.html)
No matter what I try I get the same thing, the movie is too big for the window. I am only seeing about a quarter of the movie created. I've reset the size in modify, I reset the size in publish, I made sure the code shows the right sizes but nothing works. What am I doing wrong? This is terribly frustrating.

i have a layer with two keyframes where text is displayes. in the first keyframe the font size is smaller than in the second. now i want to have a smooth change of the font size (i want to make the text get bigger). i applied a motion tweening but the text size only changes when the last frame is displayed. how can i get a smooth change of the text size?

How To Change Document Size...
hello everyone...how do i change the document size if i have all the elements in it...i want to center the graphics because when i preview it in html, it's off...i want to lessen the top part of the graphics (movie) cuz it takes too much space.
i tried going to modify + document...reduce the size but i can't center the graphics on the page? if i select all the frames and center it...just makes it worse. i need help. i gotta show it to my client/friend. i just want to reduce the size on top...without cutting the movie...get it? i hope i get a reply.

Change Movie Size
Hello All,
I am working on a project that is natively 550 x 400 px in size. I have a SWF that is a box asking if the user wants the presentation normal size or double size.
Normal, the 1st movie will just load the second movie as is, 550 x 400. Double, the 1st movie will load the second movie at 1100 x 800.
I have it using a variable between the two movies to determine if var is this value load normal size, else if var is that value set the width and height to 1100 x 800.
Not working, any ideas??

Stage Size Change
I have been looking for tutorials and in this forum for anything that might help solve my problem, but no luck in that so I'm hoping someone can answer my question.
I would like to create a banner for a website using flash. After the preloader, a logo of the website pops up, and then the shrinks vertically. Basically the stage size changes and the bottom of the .swf shifts up with the logo.
ESPN has done it recently with their site so if anyone has been to ESPN they should have a clue as to what I want to accomplish. I can get the preloader and everything else working, but I'm really stuck on that last part. If anyone can point me to a tutorial, or give me some help, that would be great.
Need To Change The Stage Size
I am working on a Flash movie, which I have also attached. Now, I want to make the stage bigger vertically. However, I want to do this and still have everything "centered" on the stage. Is there an easy way to sort of center everything once I've vertically doubled the stage size?

Change ScrollPane Bar Size?
Hey all!
Right now I have a scrollpane object that has its path set to an exported movieclip that contains a dynamic text field. The dynamic text field is tied to a string variable that is loaded in from an outside text file.
As it is right now I have the movie load in my vars from a .txt file and then assign my local vars(vars within the movie) accordingly. I then set the content path for the scrollpane to my exported movie clip and inside that exported movie clip I have a line of code that sets the dynamic text field to autosize = "center".
This works great if I only load in one string and assign it to my local variable. The scrollPane sizes the scrollbar perfectly and all is well. In the future I may want the dynamic text inside the scrollpane to update at certain intervals but the scroll bar doesn't seem to change size accordingly.
What I'm wondering is, is there anyway to basically reset the scrollpane's bar size so that it will reconfigure itself based upon the new text in the dynamic text box?
Also, I have a theory question.
When you set the content path of a scrollpane you have to set it to an external file (.swf, .jpg, etc.) or to an exported object in your library (like I do). What I'm wondering is, how exactly does this get attached to the scrollpane? Also, as I mentioned I have the code that sets the dynamic text field to autosize = "center" in the first frame of my exported movie clip. It seems strange to me that this code has time to take effect before the movieclip is "attached" to the scrollPane.

Change Layer Size
Does anyone know how to lower the default height of layers? I've downloaded people's FLAs before and they had layers about 2/3 the height of what I'm used to seeing (in version 6 or 7). I'm mostly just looking for this because it's annoying to have more than 5 layers up and try to animate stuff because you have to scroll or sacrifice stage room.

I have been creating flash ebooks for children reading programs. These ebooks have soundtracks which I animate the pages to and highlight text for the children to read along. Being a freelancer, the work has slowed to the point that I need to search for other sources of income. What I would like to do is take some of my ebooks and make them smaller to be able to display on a resume type page, so that perspecive employers can view some of my work. I'm looking for suggestions on how to do this (possibly examples/tutorials). The ebooks are sized 600-400. I am a self taugh flasher and hope there are flash guru's out there that can help me better display my abilities. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Not use to being without work, updating my resume currently to assist in my search. Also, if anyone knows about anyone looking for this type of animation, I'd love to know, and desperate to find.

Is There Anyway To Change The Stage Size
With respect to a specific side? You can do it in Photoshop (change canvas), but I can't find an option to do this in Flash. It's frustrating because I want to stretch out the top of the stage but then I have to attempt moving all of my content down piece by piece. Help!

OK I know this is totally a newbie question, but I can't find an answer to it anywhere.
I have a movie clip that I am loading a JPG into, but when it loads the JPG I want it to change size.

Dragging Change Mc Size? How?
Hello all, this is my first post.
I want to crate a simple thing I hope,
I searched on the net and I was shocked not find such a thing.
I have a movieclip of a character that is built out of many other mc
inside of him, like parent and childrens and so on.
You can drag the whole man with the torso part which is a button some
where inside the man mc.
But I need it to resize the man as you drag him up and down
on the y axis, as if he is getting far and close.
I use flash 8 and actionscrpit2 with the script assist turned on.

I checked out the Stage object but it's properties are read only. I also looked up fscommand but didn't figure out if it could be used for this case.

Hi, I am experimenting with Macromedia's Sample Client applet and trying to create a moderator applet with more options that the regular chatters. One of them is the ability to change text size.
Can someone give me a suggestion as to how to change my client to sendMessage() with a different font attributes besides color. I have tried to send putting the ".htmlText" attrib instead of the ".text" and include the html tags in the sendMessage(), but the server doesn't parse it to the other clients in html. I am at a loss. Can someone give me a suggestion? I have seen people claiming this ability all on the client side script.
Oh and if you could give me a tip on how I can "pop" in and out of the peopleList without closing. I would appreciate it.

I wonder if possible to change the current size of a new window. That is, i got flash project in an ordinary index.html file when that window opens the size is 800x600.
Is it possible to make that window scalable and also so the flash project adapts to the current window size?
