I read this technique before but cannot get it to work...is there any quick and simple way to copy the exact shape of an image once it is imported into flash?..instead of manually tracing it?

Say if I import a picture of a house, I would want to copy the shape of that house...any trick to do that quickly?

Flash MX -copying Galleries

I bought a Flash MX template for a modelling site and it has 3 galleries. But, only gallery one is there - I need to copy it to make gallery 2 and 3 and I haven't got a clue how to do it! Copying And Pasting From Flash To IE
When ever I try to copy anything from a dynamic or input textbox into Inernet explorer, it just doesn't copy it. I tried CTRL + C and Right click -- copy, but both don't work.

I know that there is nothing wrong with my Clip Board, as I have tried copying from anywhere else, and it worked.

Why does this happen? I am using Flash MX.
Also.. Is there any way to use actionscript in order to copy text (from an input or dynamic textbox) into the clipboard?

Copying Flash Player In CD
hi...

One way of playing flash movie in a CD is by using publishing as exe.

What if I need to play it in swf file, but don't want to convert to exe file.. can we install a player in the CD?

fscommand ("fullscreen", "true");
fscommand ("allowscale", "false");

will make fullscreen, but not scale the movie.. does the 'stage' command properties make the swf file to scale?

Copying My Flash Files
I created several flash files, linked them together, and then successfully linked all of my files to external files. However, I now need to copy those files to a different folder, but everytime I copy them the same links break. The files only work from the original location. I have tried copying them and publishing them again, but that doesn't work either.

Any ideas? I'm on a deadline and can't get my files posted!

Copying And Pasting Within Flash
I've made an animation in flash, but I now need to move it to another flash document. I didn't make it a movie clip to begin with, I can't figure out how to convert this animation into a clip whilst retaining the layers. What the best way of doing this? Once I do this I can copy it into the other document. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Copying An Existing FLASH Movie?
Hi,

I am new to Flash and have only recently stared using it. However, my skill are still not that well developed and I am having trouble copying this Flash movie.

I am interested in the opening sequence which shows an overlap of lines running from left to right!
All I want to know is how this can be achieved in FALSH, but not at the expence of it beign too large.

Is it possible to get a copy of a flash file from a website to see how they did things? I learn alot by looking at other peoples creations and have seen quite a few websites that I like the look of and would like to learn about.
What about getting a copy of the pre-loader? Is that possible? How do you do it?

ok one thing i have not been able to figure out in flash 5 and MX is how come you cannot copy and paste entire sections of actions script in one move.Seems at least I am only able to copy small sections and a time..why is this and is there a solution for copying lots of actionscript say from one button to another....took me ages for my last project cause of this.....

I have a animation which yearning to complete but flash keeps crashing when i try and copy my frames along the timeline.

Is there no way to copy and paste text into flash? It always shows up as gobbldie-goop when I past it (and it even takes a few minutes to actually paste the goop!). I'm redesigning a site that is text-intensive into flash and would *rather* not type everything out ... Are there any plugins to help with this if there's no way to do it with Flash as we know it? Copying Artwork From Adobe Illustrator To Flash MX
i am doing all of my drawing in Adobe Illustrator (10) and copying via the clipboard straight into Flash (MX). however, most of the time, part of the file i am pasting into Flash is missing(certains shapes or lines etc.). Flash displays a message about parts of the file not being understood.
I have tried saving the file as an .ai or .eps in Illustrator and importing it into Flash but am still having the same problem. it is a real ***** as after spending time doing a nice piece of artwork in Illustrator I end up having to redo parts of it in Flash with the much cruder tools available there. any help would be appreciated by me (and my wife who has to live with me). thanks

Slow Dragging Flash MX On Mac When Copying Frames
I am running into a continual problem on Flash MX 2004 on my Mac. After I've been using it a while, it starts running slowwwwwwwwwwwwww. Eventually I find that if I copy a frame, the little rainbow circle will spin for at least 5 minutes before finishing processing....even if all I am copying is a simple vectorized square. The only solution seems to be to restart Flash. (I seem to recall times when I also had to log out, or maybe even restart the computer....but even the current need to restart Flash is a hassle.)

The current .fla file in question is 8.2 MB. It contains very few .bmp graphics, and the animation itself is not so complex. I have imported a bunch of .ai files into it, and a 25 second mono sound .aiff file. But this is an ongoing problem....I've had it since I got Flash MX 2004 about a year ago.

I am running OSX 10.3.5 and MX Flash Professional 7.0

867 Mhz Power PC G4
2MB L3 cache
896 MB SDRAM

Any ideas?

Copying / Pasting , Duplicating Things In Flash
Wow, this is really driving me up the wall. I'm new to Flash, and no matter what I do it seems whenever I want to copy and paste or duplicate something it never just leaves the original alone. It creates an instance so i cant edit one independently from the other. How can i just simply easily copy and paste a symbol movie clip ect. and have it be completely independent from the original?
I figure there must be an easy way to do this?

Newbie Flash Question - Copying Scenes Between Movies
I'm a Flash novice, but I need to make some amendments to an existing movie.

I have several versions of the movie, each one slightly different. I have made the necessary amendments to the 'scene' to be changed - is it possible to export or copy just that scene into the other .fla files, so I don't have to make the same amendments to each one?

I guess basically what I'm asking is, is it possible to copy+paste entire chunks of timeframe plus assets from one file to another?

Allowing Viewing But Preventing Copying To HD From Flash Drive Problem
Is there any way to have a script tell the flash file to NOT be copied to HD from a Flash Drive but ALLOWs viewing from the flash drive? In other words is there a method of telling the flash movie not to copy by comparing HD sizes from its source drive (flash drive) to a pc HD (as HD are rarely lower in disk space as a HD)?

Have a client that wants to send out a multitude of Flash Drives to his clients, and doesnt want anyone downloading his flash file from the Flash Drives.

Copying To "the Clipboard" From Flash?

want the user to be able to copy text from an input-textbox to the global-clipboard (so it can be pasted into word/notepad etc)

I realise the user could select the text and use ctrl_c, but is it possible to set up a button in flash that will do this?

ideally i want it to select all the text in the box, and copy this to the clipboard.

any hints as to how this might work would be gratefully recieved,

Is it possible to copy a swf onto one's site thorough the URL? something like this(html), but with the <embed> tag <img src="the URL"> So as to know if my flash files are protected from copying or not.

I have multiple instances of the same movieclip with a bunch of variables in it. If I wanted to change all of the variables in a movieclip based on an Object, is there a way to set them all at once?

What I mean is, instead of this code:

clip.title = obj.title;
clip.time = obj.time;
clip.desc = obj.desc;
clip.size = obj.size;
etc...

can I have this code:

clip = obj; //this doesnt work.

that code diesnt work, but its what I want, is there some other way?

It wouldnt be a big deal, but each movie clip has 11 different properties (author, title, description, voice dredits, music credits, length, filesize and so on...) and I want to be able to switch the contents of the movieclip from holding the detals of one movie to the next often and quickly. Plus it would be cooler this way

That copy's all the content from myArray1 to myArray2 which is what I want, but the problem is if I change something on myArray1 it changes also to myArray2, is there a way to copy an array but keep it independent?

I'm sure that this is a very easy and obvious answer, however it currently eludes me! Here it is. Let's say I make a really cool button with some awesome movie clip up and over states. How do I copy those buttons to make buttons that have different text (than the original one) without changing ALL of the instances of that button symbol. In other words, I'm looking to use the same button with the effects for different ones without having to recreate or copy and paste the effects (which still doesn't seem to work) all the time. I'm sure there is some way to do this. FYI.....I've tried the duplicate setting in the right click menu in the library to no avail.

("Copyable" means you can your mouse drag on the text, right-click, copy it and past it on where you
want.)

We can't copy the text in flash.
Non-copyable swf file, I think, has both advantage and disadvantage.
The text is more protectable than the text in HTML.
But I want to make a text on flash movie copyable.

Hi fab flashers:

I have several scenes with many layers and I was wondering why sometimes Flash lets you copy multiple layers and sometimes it doesn't, it seems completely random and it's damn annoying. Ctrl Alt C does it but doesn't work all the time...anyone know?

I am having to copy each scene layer by layer....some of my scenes have 20 layers.

Hi, I have another stupid question with probably another obvious answer (I solved my last one with some help). On my web site, I have a section where I have lyrics for some songs. I want people to be able to copy and paste them into a text file or something. However, I noticed that when I make the text box selectable, the quality of the text is lowered significantly. So to combat this, I figured it would be possible to make a "copy this song to clipboard" button, but I have no clue how to do it. I have searched the Flash methods for text boxes, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

when copying a scene. I would like the second scene to loose all connection to the first. However if a alter a layer in any of the scenes both scenes are changes, but if I add a new layer in one scene it is not added to the other. Does anyone have a solution to this problem???
