Creating A Pop Up In Flash

The "pages" are pop up windows inside the swf. How do I create one of those? More specifically, what coding would I put on a button to open one, then close it, and also drag it within only a certain range like this movie?
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Creating Animations / Creating Websites In Flash 8
I am trying to find some advanced animations for Flash 8 as well as information on how to build a website in Flash.
I am not exactly sure where i can find these questions out. I need websites that have tutorials that go step by step for beginners because I tried a simple custome scrollbar tutorial on here and got lost. It integrated all this actionscript but never told me where to put it or anything.

Outputting Data In Flash To Text Documents, Creating Textdocs With Flash & Mc Filters
Question 1: How do I add a filter to a movieclip from actionscript,
More specificly, the "adjust color" filter, and I want to decrease brightness, saturation, hue, and contrast... by actionscript...
If you dont know what I mean, use the circle tool to create a circle, convert to movie clip, click the "filter" tab, then click + and add a adjust color filter, you'll see what I mean...
Question 2: I need to output text to 'text' documents, no I cannot use shared objects for this, as it is a program for a client, and it isn't safe enough for me...
Basically, this is what I want to do...

Flash SWT Files Creating Flash Button Templates For Dreamweaver
I was working with some students who like the Flash Buttons that are part of Dreamweaver. They thought it would be a cool idea to create their own buttons and add them as templates. Reading on the Adobe website it says to use Flash 5 to create and export the file as a SWT file type. There are further articles that says this can not be done with Flash MX. Has Adobe brought this back for Flash 8 or CS3? How else would someone accomplish this?

"i did the drawing tool tutorial and it works great, but now i want users to choose their own color, so i replaced the rgb value with a variable called 'mycolor'... This only seems to work if i define 'mycolor' in the frame-actionscript, and not when i put it in a buttonscript..."
does anybody know what i did wrong? or does anybody know a tutorial of a drawing tool with more options? (colors, eraser, maybe even store drawings???)

Creating A Flash Rollover Link From XML Output - Flash Noob
So pretty much brand new to Flash, I wanted to see if somebody could point me in the right direction.
I have an XML file that uses a loop to output four images... the images form 1 column.
I have an additional image for each of those that need to appear when hovering over the image and stays loaded when clicked to be clear what page you're on.
I think I'm more confused because I don't actually get to play with each image on stage and their being input dynamically.

I'm trying to create two effects and I'm new to using swish. Anyone have some hints on how to make a 3D tunnel effect- as if the person viewing is entering a winding hole going down.

Problems With .scroll When Creating An Flash 4 Project With Flash 5
Hi,
I've got a problem with scrolling the text in a dynamic textfield. The script is quite simple (var.scroll = var.scroll+1) and when I export the movie as Flash5 swf and check the "HTML"-Box the scrolling works. (without checking "HTML" it doesn't, wich seems quite strange to me...). But when I export the movie as flash4 swf (which is quite important to me) nothing happens, no error either.
Can someone please help me?

Hi, first of all I wasn't sure where to post this.. So move it of some other location is more proper..
Anyway, I just read the latest Computer arts projects (the one with 100 rules of graphic design) and at the last page I saw this add:
Xtivity (www.tivity.com) - (quoted literally) Xtivity is a web design program that lets you add motion, streaming video, audio, animation and interactive graphics to a web site.
They say you can just click and do without knowing action code to make such websites. I guess php integrations is like totally impossible? I think you miss a lot of the power of actionscripting (allthough I'm still a big noob with flash, these are just assumptions).
Anyway, I wondered if anyone has experience with this. I just downloaded the trial and haven't really checked out the showcase on tivity.com Need some sleep first

Creating A CD-ROM With Flash
I am looking to create a CD-ROM with Flash MX2004 Professional. It's the first time I have done this so I'd appreciate some help with the basic ideas for putting it together.
Some of my questions are:
What size do I use for the Stage?
What Frame Rate?
How do I link 'pages' on the CD-ROM together?
On this 3rd point what I mean is if I have a menu with 7 sections is each section a new Scene or just a new frame?
If someone can even give me a checklist of how to plan this from start to burning to CD it would be very helpful.

Creating A CD ROM With Flash MX
I have a CD Rom created in Flash. It has one icon for the Flash presentation, and many other files within the main folder. These include files that are labeled: Group 1, Group 2, FS Commands, Video display, ect..
In most of these folders there are SWF files. In addition, there are also .PDF files, and .Jpeg files, ect...
Whenever I created flash, I only imported such files, except maybe for PDFs I never remember having back up folders for a Flash presentation. I do know that I must have the video clips installed for any Director CD Roms I create.
So here is my question. Do I have to have all the Video, PDFs, and graphic files in the same folder that I will finally burn my CD Rom on to? I always thought such files were going to be in my Library?

I took a job from my boss, and I really don't know how I will go about doing this. I am very new to flash.

Creating A Csv Using Flash
I have a project that I Am working that requires that I export data collected throughout the file in to a .csv file so it cna be exported into a Database.
It has to go to a CSV because the machine that the file will be running on is not connected to a network or internet connection and is a stand alone machine. We are collecting data for a research project here at the University.
If it is not possible would it be better to write in Flex instead?

Creating A Flash Map...
Hi,
I'm currently working on a map. I wanted it to work in such a way wherein when you rollover a state (or province) it will animate and become bigger, and then there are dots that are actually buttons and when you rollover them, it shows the name of the location as well as other information like company name, address, telephone, etc. The main problem right now is stacking issue, wherein one state or province is on top of another, or sometimes underneath. I've already tried the swapDepth tutorial and it did work. The only problem is now the points buttons doesn't wanna work at all.

Creating PDF From Flash
Hi all,
I'm researching a new project, my requirement is to dynamically generate plan drawings of staircases. The user defines the number of steps and the layout of the landings which is all captured by PHP. I'm open to suggestions, but my current plan of attack is to use Flash to draw the geometry. Once the plan is drawn I need to fit it onto A4 and combine it with pre-drawn elements showing detail areas then output to PDF. All of this could (maybe should) be server side - the user only needs to see the finished PDF not necessarily the Flash used to generate it.
Has anyone out there tackled anything similar? Is Flash the best route or should I consider PHP to generate the geometry? Any advice gratefully received.

Creating ASP-String In Flash
I want to create an ASP string with two varibles and send that with "loadVariablesNum" to my server. So i create an URL like (for example) http://www.example.de/Expample.asp?ID=5&Calc=7 . The ID and the Language are variables that are difined by the user.
Waht didn't understand ist how to create that url in the "loadVariablesNum" Statemant.
Both variables are (ID and Calc) are step in an input text
those two variables have to be used in the ASP-Url-String, but how ? I tried it but i just get the string with the Variable-Names and not the worth that they should have.

Creating An All-Flash Website
Can anyone give me any pointers on creating an all-Flash website? I've read that a website can be entirely created in Flash, but I'm a little in the dark as to whether that means it's completely composed of SWF files, or a mix of SWF and HTML. Suggestions For Creating Flash
I'm very new to Flash and I need advice on how to create a good Flash presentation. I've created a basic layout but have not applied actions to them yet.
I have a couple of questions:
1.) It's going to be a photography site, will it be better to add scenes to the movie or create a new Flash file for each category of photos?
2.) If I have a bunch of photos with thumbnails, is it better to embed the photos into Flash or have them load dynamically?

i want it to play throughout my whole movie and with a stop and play button.
i like it because it only has one button.
when you click the play button, it automatically plays the sound and the stop button replaces the splay button and vice-versa.
