Do you customize your actions panel colours for syntax highlighting. I have mine coloured like PHP in Dreamweaver it looks nice.

To Run Action Script From Action Panel First
i am new in writting flash action script programming,besides being new on thi area , i have written a flash action script after pressing F9(windows-action) from flash 8 starting screen ,the action panel comes in semivissible format ,
then i select new action scriptfile from file menu ,then the action panel came out. there i have written the following:

Where Has My Action Panel Gone
Another dumb question.
I have created a short movie with a built in graphic clip. After useful help from this forum I can now cause the animated graphic to loop for a specified number of seconds. the number of seconds is specified in the first frame of the main movie. All working a treat. HOWEVER .. My action box has disappeared ! I can use any or all of the techniques for bringing it up e.g. Double clicking on the frame containing the action ... but no sign of my action panel . The movie is still working so the actions must still be there (the 'a' symbol is still there on the individul frames also) .... HELP !

Action Panel
Hello,
Can someone please help me. The action panel is hiding on my monitor. I am trying to edit a GetURL link on a button I created and when I right click the button and left click on Action, the action panel is nowhere to be seen. It is checkmarked. I tried rebooting to see if anything resets, but I had no luck. thnx.

Can't Find Action Panel
I know this may seem dumb, but I can't find the ACTION panel. I don't know where it went, but it's a little difficult to do action script without the panel...
Maybe I've disabled it somehow, but i've clicked the small upward arrow, and i've pressed Ctrl+Alt+A, No action panel...

Action Script Panel.
I just upgraded to mx professional - Very nice.
It looks like the only action script panel there is - is an advance mode. Does this version not offer the simple mode where they helped you out with the code? It used fields, and put in all the commas semicoloans etc. for you.
I miss that layout. Dose pro have this setting somewhere?

Action Panel Has Gone Missing
I normally use Flash mx but the computer that I am currently working on only has flash 5. I was getting pissed off with all the panels getting in the way. I dragged the actions panel and put it somewhere but now i've lost it!!! How can I get it back?

Action Panel Change
I usually work in MX but because i'm working with someone elses source files, I've been forced to upgrade to 2004 prof. On the outside, it didn't seems much different but when I try and create some basic actionscript, I see it's changed big style. I only know basic commands so I always used to create my AS in normal mode as I don't do enough to remember the syntax. I always used the drop down menus and text input fields but they now seem to have been removed – can this be true? I only upgraded because I was forced to, is there no way to get the new actions panel to work the way of the old i.e. in normal mode rather than expert?

Action Panel Copy Paste
Before I even begin with my somewhat silly question; let me clarify – I’m a total newbie with flash so maybe you guys can make life a lil easier .

And it seems easy enough up till the part where I get upto where I have to copy and paste the script into my action panel. That should also be simple enough except that ive never used the actions panel before (oh and I have flash MX installed), so I go into Window, Actions and the Action Frame opens up with lots of options so at this point im thinking I just want to copy and past but how on earth do I do that?
I know ive prolly made a goofy mistake of not understanding the instructions but could someone guide me along…

To Capture A Text And To Put It In The Panel Action
I want to capture the text typed by a user with the keyboard and to use it in a program (written in the panel action).
For instance, the user types the text "TEXT" and the program automatically catch this text and process it (for instance, the program writes this same text in bold letters; so the text TEXT appears in the result panel).
How can I do?

Scrolling Thumb Panel Action?
Hello All,
I just customized Lee's Scrolling Thumb Panel and have tried to add an action to move to another frame in the movie but it does not seem to be working? Any suggestions what I maybe missing?
Here is the code I have on the button itself after opening it from the panel.

Inverting Colours Or Replacing Colours
is it possible to use AS to replace a certain colour with a another one?
To explain, I have a large number of fla's with text in them, and most of the text is black, but some of it is multi-coloured. I would like to be able to change the background to black and the black text to white, while keeping the coloured text the same. The fla's are pretty complex, with most of the text in movieClips, so to try and select onlt the black text and make it white is way to complex...plus, I want to give the user the option of either black background white text, or white background black text...

as per my original question, is there a replace colour function, or any way of making ONLY the black text white?

Changing Default Text In Action Panel
Hi there,
I am a beginner of ActionScript. I bought a book which provides me with the effect that I wanted to use. After changing all the details in actions panel (as per instruction from my book), I could not see anything that can allow me to change the typeface in my action panel. Is that typeface consider default that I could not change? Could anybody tells me how to change it?

Movie Clip Symbol Calls From The Frame Action Panel
I created a library movie clip that implements an "API". In the movie, I define the API, and from a main movie which uses the clip, I can make calls like:
myapi.callMyFunc();
This works great when i call these functions in button handlers, but I can't call the functions from my Frame Actions -- I'm assuming because the movie isn't loaded yet? Is there any way to have a user-defined function in another movie called from Frame Actions? is this the best way to handle an "API" type object?

Accentuation Works In Action Panel And Doesn't Works In A Class.

I have created a add on for the Answer Panel!
This system is working like this:
I have made the menu and stuff, but when you select on the combo box "Answer", theres the code loadmovie and it laods the Answer Panel (like before)!
This add-on WILL NOT DAMAGE OR CREATE CHANGEMENTS on the system of the Answer panel

Flex Controlling Items In Panel A From Panel B [Flex3/AS3]
Hi all,
Currently I am working on a project that seems a bit daunting to someone that's quite new to Flex 3 and the Flex Builder 3. I'm trying to create a Build Your Jacket app that will allow the user to create a "Letterman Jacket" with logos and text of their choice ( something a bit similar to Spreadshirt.com ).
At the moment I'm trying to work out how to have 2 Panels communicate with each other.
So say for example:
In Panel B I have a Text field where someone can type one line of text. When they type into the field, I'd like it to appear in Panel A and allow the user to manipulate that in Panel A.
If someone has an example of this in Flex 3 or AS3 form, then that would be great! But if not, then I'm really looking for some direction on things I can look up and focus on in order to accomplish this.

Panel Layout Question (panel Sets)
I have never been able to get the Library to stay part of my custom panel layout. I run dual monitors and all my other panels (actions, colors, ect...) are on the second monitor and open fine in their respective places, but not the Library. I have to always hit F11 to open it and then resize it, drives me crazy! **I don't want to 'dock' the windows because it puts them below each other and I don't need that. I want them next to each other and all half the size of my monitor. It makes for a very nice workspace with all the tools on 1 monitor and the entire stage and timeline on the other.
As far as I know there is no way to dock panels next to each other as opposed to vertically. Just something that has bothered me for oh, around 3 years now! Any suggestions?????

Ok, posted twice on this subject but havn't got any useful replies. after some digging up, ive made some code you can use to customize the look and feel of your components (the font, size, colours etc.) here goes...

1. drag a component on stage. in this case it is a list box.
2. give it an instance name. i have used 'myListBox'
3. Select this component by clicking on it, then create a new layer above it - name it if you want. select any frame in this layer and open the actions panel.
4. enter this code.

add other properties as required. thats it.

I want to have a editable scrollpane that I can use over and over that let me change the skin in each project.

Customize Skins?
Hi
I need some help in customizing my own skin for web playback...any good tutorials out there? Also, any free skins out there?
I know I open the fla file of a skin in FLASH PROF 8, but when I do how in the world do you get it in the form and size you want it? Tons of buttons on the stage, and a long chrome bar - how do you make it the size you want (500 x whatever small height) and just a few buttons, ie play/pause, mute/on, scrub bar?

Customize Esc Shortcuts
Guys, I'm pretty new to the forum, searched all over, seems there's no post about that.
I got a question to do. It is really pissing me off.
Is it possible to customize those Action Panel shortcuts (like Esc+S+T, Esc+S+S, etc)?

hi there! I'm making an adoption/virtual pet site similar to bunnyhero labs'. I can animate and make buttons work, but I can't actionscript to save my life (hopefully joining this site will help.)

hi everbody. just found paul neaves excellent flash google map (http://www.neave.com/lab/flash_earth/) and i really like the interface...easing movement, keyboard control, compass... so, i've tried customizing the flash source to work on a vector image project.
however, i'm having trouble with a button that will turn off labels on the map. i'd like the "label" movie clip alpha to quickly fade out when the test button is clicked and then fade in when the button is clicked again. can somebody please help?

- the map is located in the No Tile mc (see library)

Saving Swf Within Swf(customize)
Hey guys,
is it possible to create a flash swf, put it online and save it thru the swf to your harddrive?
i want to create a small flash piece that people should be able to change the address of a link within the flash relative to their own site. then they save it and upload it to their server and use the "customized" flash piece?
