Internet Explorer And Flash - Freakin Explorer Bar
Okay, I'm pretty new at with Flash, and the whole actionscript/xml/xhtml stuff. When I upload my .swf to the web, I always get that explorer bar dropping bombs everytime I open the page. And I get it on just about every computer. Is there a special embed tag or some trick I'm missing to make that thing go away. Also, why do some sites automatically focus and others not. How do I do that?

Having Different Result In Explorer And Mozilla
Hi guys,

First post here sorry if this has been asked as I am exhuasted from finishing my portfolio and later finding that in explorer and mozilla the annimation plays differently. For example in explorer it plays a bi laggily while in Mozilla its playing perfectly like the way I test it with the raw swf on my hard disk. Is this a bug in Explorer flash? Or is my site having too many large file thats causing it? Hope someone can help me out

Java Script Problem With Mozilla And Explorer
Hello all,
im doing my web on flash using java script pop ups. This works perfectly on safari, but on mozilla and explorer as soon as you click on the link that will open the pop up window, the original window goes blank. The pop up opens fine, but the original page goes blank with a [object Window] message on the corner.

I also have to target the pop ups from flash to the .swf files, because if i do it to the html files the popup will open, but with the flash movie completely distorted (on mozilla).

The code im using on the flash button to call the popup is:

Mozilla Works Fine, Explorer Doesnt - For My Website
I just tested my new website in two different browsers.

Mozilla shows it perfectly but iexplorer sort of "doubles" the
website so that you have to click away one "layer" get started.

The swf-file seems to work like it is suposed to when i test it.

I made the site very simple. Its just a swf-file inserted inte a dreamweaver 4

Internet Explorer 6.01
Hi,

I have experienced a strange thing lately. My website worked well with Internet explorer 5.5 and still works well with Internet explorer 6.01. However, since I made a windows update on my pc I get scroll bars at the bottom and on the right hand-side of the content window. The website has been built in php and redirect several pages to flash MX. It is working well from there. But as soon as I am using the link from flash that tells me to come back to the content window in php, I get the scroll bars on the content window when it never used to be the case with my other version of Internet Explorer. Maybe I need to add some lines in my source in flash to make it work.

I don't understand why it won't show up on internet explorer. It kind of annoying because internet explorer won't show my transparent images either. Plus it always makes the text bigger than it is supposed to be set at, but that I can't fix. Anyway, can someone help me out so my flash will show up? Also if you could, could someone tell me what file format shows up transparent on IE?

Pop Window Internet Explorer 5.5
ok we have a site (flash) hosted on some ip address (given in html code). its working fine. but we don't want user to see the ip address so we are using a frameset file hosted on some other server so that when opens the site he should see that frameset page's url. but when we put that index2.htm (given below in html code) one of the links (reservations) in the flash site that opens up a pop up window doesn't work particularly in internet explorer 5.5.

PLEASE SAVE IT AS HTM AND OPEN IN IE 5.5 CLICK ON RESERVATIONS ON THE LEFT LINKS. IT SHOULD OPEN A POP UP WINDOW BUT IT DOES NOT. ALTHOUGH ITS WORKING IN IE 5.0 AND NETSCAPE.

I have a movie that is fairly large and holds alot of narration. When I test the movie in FLASH MX software package everything is in sync. I test it in the stand-alone-player and everything is in sync. I embed the movie in an HTML page, test in Netscape and still in sync. I'm using a SharedObject to track what the user's last page visited on my site is in order to restore the site to that page if the user leaves the site and then hits <Back>, or if they visit for a second time then they will skip the intro. My dilemma is that the code works as I expect in both Opera 7.0 and Netscape 7.02, but fails in Internet Explorer 6. I've chased this all day, and am positive that IE is properly reading my SharedObject, just not advancing the movie properly with the gotoAndPlay.

The code on my first keyframe is as follows:

Damn Internet Explorer
i have a website in which visitors can listen to songs, and i play the songs in a flash mp3 player file, but so the visitors dont have to wait for all the songs to load i have a 1K swf that says "Listen" then when the click that the swf loads the 200K mp3 player swf and the song plays.

Now in firefox and other browsers it works fine, but in internet explorer it doesn't even show the Listen swf and a security notice pops up saying "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options..."

Is there anything i could do to the html page, or the swf file so that Internet Explorer won't block it?

Hi , I have come across something weired.I'm developing a web site in Flash MX and for every button on the Main Movie,a second movie is loaded.Everything runs fine when I test the movie in Flash MX software.But when I upload the movie and access it through IE some of the movies do not fully load e.g some of the images will be missing.And if I press the button once again that is supposed to load the movie then the movie loads.Now if I exit IE and then load IE and access the site again, I dont have the problem.But then if I delete temp internet files before exiting IE and then load IE again,I get the same problem again.Please help,thanks

ive got two sites that dont want to work with internet explorer. (1)www.adambakerdesign.com and (2)www.theoverflowcottages.com.au they boh work fine with opera but when attempting to load on ie they 1. repeat the preloader or 2. dont load at all.

A movie i've been working on works fine in safari and firefox, but with IE it won't load the .asp page. I used IE Watch to see if the path was correct, and it seems to be getting the page properly, but then flash just decides that it didn't.

Problems With Internet Explorer

I've made an easy animated header ( LINK ), te HTML code sent some FlashVars to the movie to obtain the link for the clickable logo an the top right. With FireFox it works fine , but with IE, no FlashVars was recived by the header.

I know this has popped up so many times and im sure there is a simple solution, I have searched everywhere, but the answer im looking for just isnt around.

If you have a second to glance at www.tbadventure.com/play in internet explorer (i dont think this happens in the latest internet explorer though)

If you login as a guest, all will be ok. Say you logout (press refresh) note that the login screen appears straight away without the intro. In addition, when you press login it no longer works! Whats more, open up a new internet explorer window and - the same thing happens!!

Is there any way around this. maybe non cacheing? any help much appreciated.

I'm building a basic 'now playing' flash applet for a radio sration website. The now playing info is uploaded via FTP by the software in the studio as a text file, and I have got the Flash to look at the text file every ten seconds and update a dynamic text field which displays the artist and song title.

When displayed as an embedded object in HTML, it works perfectly in Firefox but fails to refresh in Internet Explorer, until the entire page is refreshed.

Is there something wrong with the Flash file, or is there any way I can update using Javascript or something similar?

LoadMovie Only In Internet Explorer
Hi,

i have a little problem with LoadMovie in Flash 5/MX when using non-IE browsers like Opera, Netscape and Mozilla.

I have the following simple code on frame1:

Holder is an empty MC placed on the first (and only) layer. Frame1 is the only frame in this movie.

When previewing from within the flash program, it works. When using IE it works as well (both .swf and .html). But when using Opera, Netscape or Mozilla, it's a no-go. It loads the movie, but there is no picture.

The image is not progressive.

Anyone, who can help me out? or did i just run into a flash limitation?
