hi guys.
well yeah when i draw in flash and i preview it as flash the drawings show but when i publish it they dont.
ne reasons why this would happen.
cause say i have a bmp image in the background set on layer 1 and then i draw something in layer 2 using the flash drawing tools it dosent show, when i preview the movie in flash it shows but not when i publish it.
but the weird thing is it will always show up if i have nothing else besides the drawing it self on the stage.

ne ideas how i can fix this problem cause id draw more in flash if i new why it does this.
and yes i make it that they are arranged so the drawing is in front and the its layer is above all the others i want it to be. so why does this happen.

Flash Buttons Dont Show Up In All Browsers

It has been awhile since I used flash. I am pretty well versed in 3d studio max, photoshop, premiere, illustrator. I get by in dreamweaver, but am not what I would call proficiant in it.

I use dreamweaver MX, flash 8 , all the PC's I tested my page on had security set to MEDIUM.

I publish to make a swf file and a html file, default ,I think. There is a Radio button that makes it use flash version detection. I used that. I edit the html by adding a table,(1x1), at the begining of the page and drag the flash module/icon into it. I do this to make it center up better.

I did all the design,( not much design ,it is a simple page), from home.
I made an intro with Flash4D.
I made a simple flash page consisting of a banner and 2 animated buttons.
I did all uploading to site from home.

It all works fine from either PC I have at home.
It works fine from the laptop I use at work.
I work in a small strip mall, we are all on the same network, all PC have security set to mediuim.

When I try to view the page from any other PC in the strip mall , they all display the Flash4D intro just fine, but when they go to my simple page I made they can not see the 2 orange, animated buttons.
The banner does display.

Anyone know why this is happening?

[F8] Flash Player Dont Goes "Show All"

I am finishing 5 games to a customer that will run them by double-clicking the SWF directly from the desktop. The problem is that after to maximize the Flash Player window, the game remains centered in the screen in the original size (dont goes to Show All automatically). It works fine in MY computer, but dont in the customer ones.

I added the following lines in my code, but it seems do not make any difference when running im my customer computers:

Scroll Bars Dont Show Up
Hello,

I've been designing web sites for a while now but I'm new at the Flash game. Using Flash MX 2004 I've added scrollbars to a few pages on a site i've created. On my computer everything shows up fine...but I've noticed that if I view it on another computer the scroll sometimes doesnt show. I'm not sure if this is an issues with resolution, flash version or mabie the "drag & drop" scroll bars I used from the components menu.

Dynamic Text Dont Show HELP
Hello. Got a seriouse problem going on.
I have a flash movie (M1) with an empty MC where I load another movie (M2) . On the loaded movie (M2) I have a dynamic textfield where a .txt file is dynamic loaded. When I test the movie M2 everything works as it should. But when I test M1 and the m2 load , the text does not appear. I can scroll with my scroll bar component though , but I dont see the text. I am sure my text has different color than the background.
What could be wrong?

Please help a poor guy out.

Dont Wanna Show The Print Dialogbox...
Ok, my Project requires that I dont show the Print Dialogbox (normally shown while using the Print functions and Classes (Print(), printAsBitmap, PrintJob()). I can't use any third-party applications..u know..like VB etc..to hide the dialog and stuff.

Dont Show Print Dialoge Box When Printing
Does anyone know if there is a way of printing an swf using a print button within the swf but without showing the print dialoge screen.

I guess there must be a way of doing it as if you hit the print button from the i.e. menu it just sends the job to the printer using the default settings. Thats exactly what I want to achieve but by using a print button from within my flash movie instead.

Can anyone help me out?

Text Doesnt Show When I Publish ?
I have the strangest problem. I am using flash MX and when I type on the top layer, the text will show while I am in the editor, but it dissapears once i hit publish-> preview. Anyone know whats going on?

Question About 'show All' In Publish Settings...

Was wondering if it is possible to set a limit on the '100% show all (default)' html option in the publishing settings... Basically I want the page to stretch to the edge of browsers (not exact fit though, in scale) if the user's monitor res is 800x600 or above. But I don't like the way it shrinks down completely when you make the browser really small, I want it to then be scrollable when it gets below a certain size.

I've seen it on a variety of monitors and was fine, but when viewed on a really high resolution the amount of space around it was too much. Is the 'show all' html option a way round this?

Italic Fonts Dont' Show Up In Dynamic Html Textfield
Dear Forum

I am loading in xml text (CDATA nodes) and parsing the text with the "XML.firstChild.nodeValue" function into a dynamically created textfield (html set to true, putting text into .htmlText).

I am having problems with getting the italic text to work(<i>Italic text</i>). Underlined text works (<u>underlined text</u>). Does this mean that the font doesn't have the outlines embedded for the italic text? I would think so right?

Well I've tried to embed it by adding another font in the library with the same name as the regular article font, only with the italic option embedded. I have also on the first frame a dynamic text field of that font with the embedded option of all characters, numbers and latin characters enabled...

I am honestly stuck with this one... what else could I be missing?

100% Show All Publish But Keep Part Of Swf A Fixed Size
Hi,
Is it possible to have the movie HTML publish settings as 100%x100%, "show all" so that the movie fills the browser window BUT keep a movie clip inside the movie at a fixed size?
I assume you need to scale that movie in relation to the users resolution?
How can you do that?

In case I am thinking all wrong, here is what I want to achieve.
background image movie clip in my movie fills the browser window completely.
main content movie clip stays a fixed pixel size in the center of the window.

[MX04] Embedded Images Dont Show From A Dynamic (xml) Generated List

I'm having trouble with the dynamic textbox showing the images embedded into it when it loads, thing is, as soon as you scroll (strange sliver of boxes on the right, I have as yet to sort out the layer heights of the duplicates, just getting the mask to work properly was an arse) ALL the images instantly appear, so it's clearly not an issue with loading times.

The src info is filled from a xml file, and all the src info in that xml file is complete url's (http://www.salisbury.ac.uk/media/cad/name.jpg) and all the files appear when you move up or down so the images are definitely not progressive's.

So, my question is this, am I missing something simple that flash needs to do or what?

It's some time ago I make a question in this forum, but I guess it fits the topic quite well.

I was experimenting for some time now the posibilities of form tweening (even more after seeing some videos of the working by FI) and found that it gets innacurate when the vertex number varies between the start and the end of the tween. This is not a real problem if you work on modifications of the same form. Or that was what I guessed once. Next I noticed that when gaining in complexity, there appears extra vertexes "out of nowhere".

This is not desirable, as you can imagine... I wonder if there's a way to avoid this, appart from "keeping it simple", 'cos it's not allways possible, right?

Can't Do Publish/Publish Setting A Movie In Flash CS3
I installed Flash CS3 while still keeping Flash 8. When I try to publish/publish setting a movie, an alert pops up saying 'No valid HTML Templates are available to complete this operation'.

Probably there was a conflict so I uninstalled both Flash CS3, Flash 8 then installed Flash CS3 but the problem still comes up. What is that?

If Undefined Dont Show Text That Says Undefined
Curious to know, I am using flash, .Net, and MySQL and have elements (text fields) posting in flash.

Question is, if the table in the data base is not holding the var char how can I set the text field in flash to not show undefined and just be blank?

Overlapping Drawings
You know that when u do all the drawings in flash, if they overlap they'll "join" or erase each other. Is it possible to disable this as a whole? I know that you can transform into a symbol, group or place in a different layer but it's really quite troublesome. Thanks

Saving Drawings
Hi All

I basic question here, I aint after any code I just need a point in the right direction.

So ultimately I want to create a simple drawing application. the twist is though I need to some way remember the drawing someone has done, like a save function.

Someone will draw a simple drawing and I want them to save the lines, so the can load the simple line drawing they do next time they come back.

Now is there a way I can record where the line is made on the stage by co-ordinates, or can i save a movieclip as a vector images (SVG i think) some how??

I have been searching for a while now, i have instructions on how to draw but not saving. any ideas/link would go down a treat

Flash Uses XML File To Show Pics - Can I Randomize The Show Order?
I'm playing around with a flash template at the moment which uses an external XML file to display pictures in a flash frame. The file:

Vector Drawings--- AAAAAAAARRG
hello!

aah my second post... well I'm currently a Photoshop fan, and now I'm working on Flash. What I like to do is create a new layer over a picture of a drawing, trace over it, color it in and give it a background... So in Flash, I tried this, but whenever I go to use the paintbucket, it doesn't always fill... It's like I have to paint around the edges of the pencil in order to make it "fillable". help!! am I doing something wrong?? I'm new to flash and vectors, so i thought I'd ask, because sometimes it fills without any outlining, but other times you have to outline it with the paintbrush... help! thanks!

I have create a dynamic drawing pad for my website users (Online Notes), however I would like to save what they draw on to the canvas (_root).

Is it possible to save what the user drew on the _root or will I need to create a blank canvas for the user then serialize the canvas and store it into a SharedObject?

I am new to scripting things in Flash, and I was wondering if I could have some help with a project. Essentially what I want to do is create a box that users can draw in, then save their image, and reflect it horizontally, vertically and both (so it creates a sort of mirrored symmetrical design in 4 attached quadrants). So, if that wasn't clear, the idea is for a person to just design 1 box, and then the others will produce themselves based on the user's original image.

I found a tutorial explianing how to make buttons for line thickness and different colors, but what I don't understand is how to be able to draw in only a specific area, and how to use that finished image to duplicate/reflect, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Vector Line Drawings?
Does anyone know where there might be some good places to learn how to do some scripted drawings using only lines. For example, if you wanted to draw a car begining with only one line and watch as the whole thing took shape, finally ending with the finshed car looking like a blueprint sketch.
Is there a place where they might have some tutorials for this sort of thing. I'm sure that I could make a movie where I just drew every part of the car but that wouldn't look all that great when finished so I wanted to know if there would be a good way, like scripted movement, to make the motion smooth.

Reading Vector Drawings From Mysql

im working in a project where i have a lot of .fla files with vector drawings inside of them,
what i supposed to do is to create a flash movie to show that drawings but i should protect them from being copied by bots or by users,
so my first idea is to save somehow the drawings into mysql (not as swf because a swf can be decompiled also not as regular image jpg,png,.. etc) and then read the mysql database using amfphp or something similar and send the data to the swf and recreate the image using bitmapdata, so i need to know how to save the drawings to mysql and how to recreate them in the swf.

If someone knows a better way to do all this please tell me

Publish Preview As Flash VS Publish Preview As Html
Ive made a movie that add strings from several input text fields to an array. This array is sent from the flash video to php.
This is working fine when I preview the movie as Flash. The php script prints the variables as intended.

But when I preview it as html the arrays are all empty...
Can anyone tell me why?
