a new question of this newbie for ya experts:
i have 2 swf files in dreamweaver, movie a and movie b.
I want to start movie b when movie a is finished. how does that work??
then question 2 ; after the 2 movies are finished i want to show the buttons and the main page so that the page is displayed.
(the movies are the incomming frame's into the page and the animation that happens in the frame)

Flash 5 Into Dreamweaver Help
Can anyone please help with what I'm finding is an annoying problem.
1. I have small flash 5 movie, with a complex bitmap background.
2. I can insert this in DW no probs
3. I want the movie to take up ther whole browser screen, just for the intro
of the web site.
4. The problem(s) I'm finding are:
The flash movie simply cannot be big enough for the browser, and I have
an annoying white background border around my movie (the bitmap background
to the movie itself is predominately blue)
The alternative of making the bitmap the background to the html sheet also
seems not the work, as I create my movie in flash with a white background
(difficult as most of my animation is white) then publish it a swf, I have a
large square of white indicating the white background of the movie.
I was always led to believe in the transparent nature of flash vector
graphics??!!
Any suggestions would be most gratefully recieved

Hi,
When i'm desining a webpage in dreamweaver and importing a flash movie. Then i can only see a small figure that represents the flash file. When i test the website (f12), i can see the hole scene.
What do you advise. 1. Making the entire website in flash or just importing a view flash files in dreamweaver?

how can i prevent a white square from flashing when an animation is either loaded or changed by another???
in both the flash file and the dreamweaver file the backgrounds are the same color, still i get this annoying white flash when pages change!!!

OK. I am working in Dreamweaver. I have 2 frames.
On the left frame I have put a flash file with some buttons.
My question/problem - Is it possible to give action to these flash buttons in the left frame so that they open a new page in the right frame ???

Flash Only And Dreamweaver Together?
Hey everyone
Im new to web design work and I was wondering if the pros out there use Dreamweaver in conjunction with Flash or just Flash by itself? I know Flash has the ability to export and publish directly to the web but someone mentioned to me once that for professional results all flash movies (buttons, animations, etc) should be imported into Dreamweaver and then published to the web. Using Flash In Dreamweaver
I have created a button in Flash that I am trying to use in a Dreamweaver website I'm building. The button in all the states, over, down & up, works fine when I preview it in Flash/Test Movie, but not in Dreamweaver. When I test the site in IE browser there si nothing in the buttons space. When I run the mouse over it a little red symbol appears and I'm told I don't have the plug-in to run this, but I have the flash player and shockwave installed. How do I get the button to work?

I am just learning about Dreamweaver and I have a couple of questions on how it relates to Flash. Okay, bear with my maybe stupid questions... I have a flash file and I want to integrate an html file on the same page. Like, I am using Flash for the overall layout....background color, location of buttons, tweening, etc. Now, I want to add an html file to this layout. So can I use Dreamweaver and set up tables and somehow import my flash file (the .swf or the .html file) into the table or better yet as the background and then add other html files into other cells of the table and then get my overall final layout? Alright...here goes....
I have been working on a site in Dreamweaver. Everything has been fine. Recently, for no apparent reason, all of my flash text buttons have gone weird. Before, I could test my page in a browser with no problems: pages would link together just fine. NOW, whenever I test a page and click a link that is Flash text, the Flash text file becomes part of the URL...does that make sense? an example:
When testing in a browser (IE 6), if I click on "button.swf" to link to another page, say "page.html", I would usually be linked to www.mydemonstrationpage.com/page.html.
NOW I get www.mydemonstrationpage.html/button.swf/page.html (and of course, the page cannot be found). I did nothing to alter the flash text (or so I think). How do things go back to the good ol' days?

When inserting a .swf file into a Dremweaver cell, the cell expands vertically even though the dimensions of the flash file should easily fit in the cell. What is causing this to happen? How do I stop it?

Flash Swf & Dreamweaver
I am having a problem imbedding a SWF file in my dreamweaver page.
I create my movie using Flash MX. Then I choose Export movie and save it as a SWF.
Then in my dreamweaver page I click the Flash button at the top and select my SWF file.
If I click preview - see the file ok.
When I publish the two files to my server then view the page I see a white box only where the movie should be...
Why is this ?
The rest of my site seems to be working ok.

I made the main setup for my webpage in Flash MX, however, I realized that I will need to make so many updates in the future and I need to add so much to my site, that it would be best to finish it off in an html editor such as Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. Help With Flash MX & Dreamweaver MX
I am having problems with a movie that I am embedding into Dreamweaver MX. The movie works fine in Flash. It even works fine in the Dreamweaver MX Interface, but once I send it to be previewed or publish it to a site, it stops working. Does anyone have an answer as to how to fix this. I have tried everything.
The movie uses the loadmovie event to move the photos into the target.
Please help soon. I have a school project do.

Do I Need To Use Dreamweaver With Flash?
I'm a newbie who's trying to make a Flash site and I was wondering if I needed to use Dreamweaver inorder to launch my Flashsite? Will I need to make a page that has something that says "ENTER SITE" in Dreamweaver, then somehow link it to my Flash site?

Flash & Dreamweaver - What The?
Having a bit of trouble with my Flash navigation. I've created a Flash MX navigation bar for a website that is set-up in frames. There are only two frames, a top frame to hold the Flash navigation and the bottom frame to hold the HTML etc.
Is there a tutorial out there that explains how to accomplish the above that I've described using frames in Dreamweaver.
My action script for each button is set up like this:
gotoAndPlay("history", 1);
getURL("history.html", "bottom");
When I place the Flash navigation in the top frame and test it, the navigation sometimes loads the page in the top fram instead of the bottom frame. I double checked the script and it is correct as it is telling the html to load in the "bottom" frame. Also the bottom of the navigation bar is cut off slightly at the bottom. I've checked the height of the frame based on the height of the Flash navigation bar and they both match...I'm clueless.
Also when I re-size the browser window the top frame expands leave a huge gap between the top frame and bottom frame, when I would prefer the top frame to stay tight to the top and the bottom frame to stay tight to the top of the bottom frame while expanding from left to right as well as stretching from the bottom..if that makes any sense.
Please any help will be appreciated?

Dreamweaver And Flash
Hi, I am currently having trouble with dreamweaver and flash, I have flash embeded and also some pics and a template, when I build the page I upload it using dream weaver, now the images and flash aren't coming up on othermachines, just mine. The source code for a picture is c:documents and settings/user/html/pic1.jpg and such.
How can I make it convert to just src=pic1.jpg instead of the documents and settings thing, with out rebuilding the entire site, it happens with the flash as well.

When I view my published movie in a browser.. it seems that Dreamweaver adds and extra 10 pixels or so to the left of my movie...I've tried <align> "left" to the HTML but it seems to do nothing...Anyone have this problem before...I'm sure it's a simple solve but I'm having a MAJOR block.

In Dreamweaver (building a simple .html page) you can select to insert Flash buttons in your page by selecting 'Insert > Interactive Images > Flash Button'.
When you do this, you get the option to set the text for the button's label (font, size) and also the link for the button, target, etc.
What I want to know is how does the flash button receive the variable for the button's label. There is nothing in the .html code that passes this information to the flash button. (I think it uses Macromedia Generator).
What I am trying to do is build a blank button in flash, embed the .swf for this button into the .html page and then set the text for this button from within the .html page that it sits on. How do you do this without using Generator ?. Is this possible ?.

Dreamweaver Before Flash...
Hello,
I'm setting out to make a simple, fast-loading Dreamweaver landing page for my visitors before sending them to a Flash site.
I've only worked in Flash, though, and I know nothing about other website development methods.
I want control over the look of the Dreamweaver landing page, but I also want it to load fast. It will be on a white background with a headline and a logo and two simple buttons for the user to choose between broadband and dialup.
Shall I set the headline in Illustrator and bring it into Dreamweaver to control the look, or is it better to specify it in Dreamweaver and lose some control? Shall I make the buttons in Illustrator, do you think?
And how do I integrate the Flash Detection Kit that I've downloaded. It confuses me and I don't know where to begin with it. Do I use the "Dreamweaver Behavior" aspect of it? Is this the only aspect of it, since one needs a non-Flash starting point to detect for Flash?
Any advice will be appreciated.

Can I use a flash mouse cursor in dreamweaver? When I import my flash movie (cursor) in, it works either above my HTML stuff, or below (wherever I place it). How do I make it work over the whole entire page, or is this not possible?

Seeing Flash In Dreamweaver?
I've made my Flash intro page with moving graphics and fading text, etc., called index.fla, published it so now I have index.swf. When I import the Flash into my Dreamweaver file all I see is a gray box with the Flash "f" inside. Why can't I see the Flash intro in Dreamweaver? I need to add buttons to it in Dreamweaver cuz I can't seem to do it in Flash but I can't see the file in DW to do the buttons.

I've completed all the button but when I click them the corresponding html file doesn't open in the frame I want it to, I can only get it to open in a new browser window or in the same frame as the nav bar.

I've edited my original post (since I received no replies). Also more searching revealed a number of similar requests.
Recap: I am trying to call to layers in Dreamweaver via my Flash navigation that I've inserted as a swf in Dreamweaver.
I found many reference to using this code:
getURL(" javascript:MM_showHideLayers('Layer1','','hide','L
ayer2','','show')");
It doesn't seem to work anywhere I put it. Meaning in the main movie timeline on the button, or in the button state time line. I also keyframe the "Down" state converting the button into a movie symbol, entered that time line and inserted the code.
All to no effect. Any suggestions ?

Flash Mx To Dreamweaver Mx
A couple quick questions for anyone who might know. I'm designing a personal website. I have been creating pieces (individual buttons, movie clips, backgrounds, etc.) in flash to import to dreamweaver. To have these pieces work properly, do i have to make each individual piece it's own .html or .swf file, or can i import the entire completed file as one .html or .swf file and all it's individual components together and have it work as it does in flash. I have buttons with roll-over animations and looping animated movie clips that i want to play in the background of my site. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Flash And Dreamweaver Help
when I design my site I create slices in photoshop cs then in dreamweaver I create a table and insert the slices in and it all looks great. When I export one of the slices into Flash MX, create my work area to the same exact size of the slice, add stuff in flash to this and export as swf. now when I change the slice.jpg into the swf file, I always get some white showing in the background, I have it now where I still see a small hairline so the images don't line up exactly with the swf file, anyone else experience this and knows a way to fix this ?

I am trying to figure out how to make images fade in on a layer in Dreamweaver after a Flash file has loaded.
I set up my Dreamweaver file using layers.
I have a transparent Flash layer in the Dreamweaver file.
I also have a layer that is a table with several images.
I would like the Dreamweaver images to start fading in slightly before or just as the Flash animation finishes.
I cannot do this in Flash because the client needs to be able to easily update the pictures.

Pop Ups Within Pop Ups Flash MX/dreamweaver

Please go to the gallery section and click on the social images button. Things seem to work fine up until then. A preloader is supposed to play in the small window and doesn't. After the small window is loaded as you can see you can sort of scroll through the images using the arrows. When you click on an image, instead of the image popping up within it's own window it pops up within the small window. Can someone help me with this?

Dreamweaver To Flash
I had a project brief for college.
Had to use dreamweaver to make a website.
To cut a long story short. I used Flashound.js to sonify the site and used
dreamweaver layers and behaviours.
It all worked fine but due to browser incompatability issues with layers etc
I now have to rebuild the entire site in Flash.
This is where I am at right now and I would greatly appreciate any help.
I want to use the .htm pages that exist already in my Site folder. They are just basic .htm pages. I could re do the pages in flash and use a 'go to' and timeline marker. It would work that way.
I would rather use the buttons on the home page; (The home page is constructed entirly in flash right now), to open the various .htm files in (,self)
Basicly I want an index file that has an embeded .swf with buttons that open .htm
files from a folder.
If anyone can point me to a tutoril for this I would be a very happy person.
Sorry if this is long winded can think of no other way to describe my problem.

Help Please, Flash/dreamweaver
I have flash files (swf) that I have imported into dreamweaver files. However, when I save the site, the flash will never fully load. The page says it is still loading but no matter how long you wait the flash will never load. THere is just a white space where the flash movie would be playing. Do I need a preloader or something or what is the problem?

Hi...I have a flash movie embedded in a html page. That page also has several layers with text. All these levels are set to invisible at the page load so the only thing visible onLoad is the flash movie. Can a script at the end of the flash movie make a invisible

i have a sfw interface which is my entire home page
i have inserted this sfw into dreamweaver.
my problem is the browser window (+dreamweaver itself) show an ugly white border around the flash. can i specify a page size in dreamweaver?? or if not how do i set it up to launch in its own sized browser window (w=900) from an html "enter site" page

Flash Vs. Dreamweaver
Hello everyone,
I have been slowly learning Flash 5 for a while and am able to make a basic site with basic/fun effects. Now a friend wants me to build a website for him about his upcoming marriage. Nothing fancy. I was planning on doing it in Flash 5, but another friend said that if I wasn't going to use any animations, then I should build the site with Dreamweaver instead.
He also said that if I make the site in Flash then some people might not be able to view it, but I was under the impression that if I publish my Flash site as both an SWF and an HTML and upload both, then people who don't have Flash will automatically go to the HTML version.
I don't have any experience with Dreamweaver, so I don't really know what the difference is from Flash.
Any suggestions/advice?

Dreamweaver And Flash
So I've created what I want to create in Flash, at about 640x400 or so. When it loads on the web is sizes to this size of my screen and sticks itself in the upper left hand corner.
I decided to go into Dreamweave and insert the Flash inside of a table that is centered on the screen with some nice text.
The text shows but the flash content is not there or not loading properly. I thought it might be because it's not loading fast enough so I put a preloader on it. Still nothing. I tried loading it in, in different folders in case the site information was screwy on the the index. Nothing.
So the html file and the swf file are in the same root folder for the web but only the html stuff is showing up and the box where the flash is supposed to be is blank and white.
Anyone know why?
