Flash :: Dreamweaver Question:

Hey all.

I have a flash animation that I would like to have STAY at the top of my web site (where the navigation bar is) throughout all the pages. In other words I dont want to force the user to have to reload the flash animation every time the user clicks throughout the site/pages. Is there any way to make the flash animation permanent, along with the table that contains my navigation/buttons,, and just have the CONTENT change ?
I am using macromedia dreamweaver to create the site,and im a newbie... so pleaase answer in plain english.

is there a way i can change the size of a html page in dreamweaver so i can make it, say 300 pixels, by 300 pixels? kind of like a pop up window?

I know this is a flash forum but I was wondering if somebody could help me with dreamweaver. I am making a website and I have a table with 3 columns which I converted to layers. Hi!

Just look the RGB Code in PS and Dreamweaver. e.g. #FFFFFF for white.

You just have to choose RGB mode in PS and not CYMK.

this is slightly off topic, being a Flash board and all, but it's the most relevant i could find...

just wondering, what exactly is the point of Dreamweaver (the program). I know that flash can be used to make whole websites, and as a result, isn't dreamweaver useless? i don't really know much about what it does, but could someone fill me in?
also, if it's actually good, is it crucial to make a good site, or can flash be used effectively on it's own? i only make sites for fun/friends, not professionally.

I'm really sorry, know this is Flash forum but haven't found one for Dreamweaver. And here someone could help me. If it's problem, delete this...

My problem is quite small but it's bugging me. When I make a page with CSS for links making them without underline they show up that way when saving that page on my computer. No problem there.

But when I put that page on the net links are showned with underline, and that's bugging me. Have I done something wrong or what? Anyone can help me?

Hi everyone! I am sooo new to Flash and website hosting... I am actually doing it for my friends who already have the domain but just need to re-open the site up... How does all of this stuff work? I've made several different .swf files and I am thinking I will link up the buttons once I get the stuff uploaded onto the website domain and get URLs for each different area- so that I can add that to the buttons in the different flash movies... I was wondering, do I have to put it into Dreamweaver or can I just do it all through Flash? I have both programs, I just don't understand how I go about doing all of it... I need a mentor! Haha

i really need some help with dreamweaver .
im designing a site for a resturant and on my index page the link works fine but on the next page the buttons wont even apear i just get a red circle with across in it but on my site map it says all the links are fine also i find that when iv saved it some times links to the old page not the new one ? if anyone has any tips or knows of a good dreamweaver site please help cheers

I know this is a flash kit forum - but I wanted to ask the experts and this is where I ususally get the answers..

In Dreamweaver- I have a scolling text box - and the scrolling text boxes have white backgrounds - but the page I want it on has a black background... Is there a way to change the scrollbox color background - I have attached a style sheet and the font changed nicely - but NOT the color of the background...

Any thoughts??

I was wondering if someone could help with FTP-ing files via SSH using Dreamweaver MX.
I have putty in the config/ssh folder as explained in the technotes, and have the dreamweaver ftp set up. I am also running an ssh session. I still get the error: "cannot make connection to host"

I know its the wrong forum but can anyone help me with a problem I got in Dreamweaver....

I have inserted a jump menu inside the left frame. When selectiong one one of the choices from teh list I want it to open in the main frame. Is this possible?

when posted in, it is tiled and shows up around 4 times on the screen, i want it to be seen only as i originally made it (bigger), how do i do this?

I am new to Swish and have just created a very small one scene movie that I tried to bring into my Dreamweaver website. Only a portion of the movie is visable once it is put into Dreamweaver. I can't figure out what the problem is. In Swish it is working perfectly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey Guys,

I'm gonna start using DreamWeaver soon and I would like to know if any of you know a great site like FlashKit that has to do with DreamWeaver.
Still on that subject, I really enjoyed this site and it has been the root of me learning Flash . I self-taught myself Flash over the summer with help from random tutorials and forums, and now I feel that I'm an advanced user of Flash. By the way, I'm only 15 and when I first started, I felt as though it would be impossible for me to learn, but I did .

not being a flash question i didnt quite know where to post my problem, as most of you folks will have been using dreamweaver i thought i would go out on a limb and see if anyone here can help me out.

The problem im having is with the templates, I have made a site comprising of some 150+ product pages based on a template, when I come to change my template however it does not update the product pages based on it, argh!!! I really don’t want to change the lot by hand and was wondering if there is a way to re-assert the templates association with the other pages and make them update again? Its got me going a bit crazy as all the product pages even say that they are associated with the template (top right corner in the dreamweaver interface)

do most of you guys put your sites together using dreamweaver is it easier and worth learning....and do you recommend putting your site together using the program

How Can I Do THIS In Dreamweaver
Hi i am running studio mx and want to know how to get the enter button on the doom 3 site http://www.doom3.com to work on my site.

I want an image on a basic HTML page (my index page) to open my first flash movie in fullscreen with no scroll bars. just like the doom 3 site i posted. Except my button isnt in flash it's an image on a HTML page

Hi Once again I am having to ask for help in another Macromedia product but to be honest this froum is the only one I trust to help me. on my Dreamweaver 2000 when I try you paste something on the page I get a error message that reads while executing onload in paste fireworks.html in file" paste fireworks.html reference Error intialze is not defined.

and when I try to log off the error message say's onload in teamAdmin temp delete the following javascript errors occurred:
in Admin tempdelete refance error: delete tempfile is not defined

can someone please tell me were the teamAdmin temp files are.
I have look all over my files ans I cant find it.

i would like to apologize as this is not a flash question but a dreamweaver one.
i greated a website in photoshop and imported it into dreaweaver. i created slices....the question i have is why is it when i try to put layer over it. for example...some text over a content box, it never lines up when i view it explorer or netscape but it lines up when i do it in dreamweaver. any idea what i'm doing wrong.

Maybe that club is trying to tell me to stick with another all Flash site.

When testing my movie, it works fine. When going directly to the file after I upload it, it works fine. But when I put it in Dreamweaver, it stops working properly. It may help to know that it's a picture slideshow using XML. Any ideas?

have a dreamweaver developed website and have made a little flash movie approx 149k that i want to embed in it. I am not able to test it on a browser yet ao can anyone tell me if this this .swf is too big? will it take a while before it can been seen on the web page? how do people get around this problem? How are paople making great flash websites that the browser display really quickly? Am confused!

I am having a bit of a problem, Okay I am using the flv Playback Component to play a FLV file. I preview it in Flash and it works great but when I import it into Dreamweaver, it shows alright but there are no controls when I preivew it in my browser. Why?? Can someone help.

Hi there,

I was looking for a dreamweaver forum here but couldn't find any so i posted my question here, hope it is ok.

I designed 2 layouts in fireworks 8 and then exported the HTML and CSS Layers to dreamweaver to make them templates. The design in dreamweaver shows my site on the left side of the page. My question is, how can i move the layout and design to be in the middle of the page? I tried cutting the whole layout and trying to paste it in the middle but it didn't work..

When I view it locally it plays correctly.  When I upload to server it only shows a white box.  The original file is 340x260 and I resized in Dreamweaver to 225x169.  I'm not sure if that makes a difference.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it?

I have Dreamweaver and Firewroks. I also have Flash. Why exactly do I need Dreamweaver or Fireworks for if I have Flash? Doesn't Flash do everything?

Flash 5 Into Dreamweaver Help
Can anyone please help with what I'm finding is an annoying problem.

1. I have small flash 5 movie, with a complex bitmap background.

2. I can insert this in DW no probs

3. I want the movie to take up ther whole browser screen, just for the intro
of the web site.

4. The problem(s) I'm finding are:

The flash movie simply cannot be big enough for the browser, and I have
an annoying white background border around my movie (the bitmap background
to the movie itself is predominately blue)

The alternative of making the bitmap the background to the html sheet also
seems not the work, as I create my movie in flash with a white background
(difficult as most of my animation is white) then publish it a swf, I have a
large square of white indicating the white background of the movie.

I was always led to believe in the transparent nature of flash vector
graphics??!!

Any suggestions would be most gratefully recieved
