I want to create a cdrom for a client that allows them to add/delete images from a folder, and then just reburn the cdrom. Dont want them to touch the flash - just add remove jpg's to the folder.
There are 5 categories off the main page, each will be a thumbnail/click here to view larger version.
what is the best way to approach this project, any examples?

Is It Possible To Have Non Editable Text In An Editable Textarea?
Hi guys,
I'm using textareas and loading in text. Some of the text that I am loading in I want to be editable, and some text I want it to be impossible for the user to edit
Is there a way to combine editable and non editable text into just 1 textarea?
and make the non editable text visible - e.g. have it greyed out?

Hello Friends,
I've got a question ...
In a flash5 movie, if I am having a dynamic textbox .. is it possible to have the dynamic text box in an editable format... i.e. when the movie is running... I want to edit the text like any other text field.(input type)
The second difficulty I am facing is that the dynamic text box is present within a movieclip.
Can someone please help me figure out how to achieve this result?
Are .swf's Editable?
I am about to embark on a redesign/edit of a website that was designed entirely in flash. I have downloaded the files that were created for the site, including swf's and html files.
However, there are no .fla files that are available on their server to do the 'editing'.
Am I incorrect in thinking I need .fla's to do the edits, or can I edit .swf's?
Your guidance is greatly appreciated!

I am trying to place text on a webpage that the user can modify in terms of font type, size and color. Is there a way I can accomplish that in Flash, where when a button is released a new flash window will open with the text and the ability of the user to modify it for ease of viewing?

I am looking for an example or tutorial on how to work with text on a layer. I want to be able to load in a paragraph of text and then allow the user to edit it in flash.
Basically a flash text editor. So the user can change the font size, the color, and the text itself.
If anyone can guide me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Editable Gradients
What I would like to do is have gradient being a variable. I want to have it where the fade is defined by the two colors the user selects, then flash creates the gradient. I've seen a tutorial on this before, but didn't need it at the time, if you happen to know where one is located or if you can just tell me how to set this up I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

anyone have an idea of how to make text editable in flash. for instance i am making a restaurant website for a client, and i need it so they can go in and edit the text. i know how to change things dynmically in flash, but i don't know how to store the data so that when you re-open the site, everything saves.

Is there a way that i could set it up so that my client could edit the text from their end?
I only way i could think of would be get flash to load some kind of text document which they can edit then overwrite through ftp. If i give them the password etc.

Are SWF Files Editable?
Sometimes a client asks me to do something that I think is impossible, so I'm asking just in case the universe has changed since the last time I poked my head outside my office. Don't want to get caught with egg on my face.
Is it possible to edit a .swf file? I have a client that sent me a couple of .swf files but needs a completely new sized banner ad. I could probably rebuild the whole thing but then it would take longer than I'd like and more time than he probably wants to pay. So I'm asking. Is it possible?

We have web-enabled SQL database using Flash as the GUI. Our problem is creating an editable dropdown. Of course, it is easy enough to set the dropdown values, but is it possible or is there an easy way to allow the user to Add, Delete, or Modify the values and have them update in the GUI and Database. Editable Scrollpane
Hi
I want to have a editable scrollpane that I can use over and over that let me change the skin in each project.
Here are the options I think I have:
Build a scrollpane from scratch?
Find a custom scrollpane that some one made already with easy to customize feature to edit the skin?
or Edit the default scrollpane that comes with Flash MX? wich I tried alrerady and I couldn't get it to work.
What do you guys think is the way to go?

XML Editable DataGrid.
The fact that you can't add xml to the datagrid and have it be editable is guetto!
Who knows how to use this xml connector crap to fix this, I've been un-able to get it to work from the live docs junk. :x
Why Is My Text Editable?
I am creating a flash website, and for some reason on my intro, you can highlight text and type/clear it. It doesn't affect the swf file, but it is weird. I'm sure it is something simple. I set it up as text boxes inside of movie clips. I have attached the .swf file.

I am creating a CDrom using Flash - this runs fullscreen. I wanted to be able to link to the web, but when you get URL the site just runs in the background.
Do you know of any way that I am going to be able to achieve this, or even a workaround to get this effect?

While the form only has to be filled in Once on the CD
then when it gets submit it fills in the form for the user on the web.

i know i can launch the file automatically using autorun.inf file but i need the file to load either as fullscreen or without the status bars etc..

I am using the scrollbar component with some dynamic text on my site, but the scrollbars definitely stand out a lot and don't blend in with my site at all. Can I change the shape, color, or alpha at all? Thanks
Editable Dynamic Text Box
Hey everyone. I have an issue that I don't know if it's possible to pull off.
I have a database in mysql that i am accessing via flash and PHP. I can send my data to the database form flash, and I can view my data from the database in flash also. But what I'd like to do is to be able to edit the text in my dynamic text box, after I got it from PHP. I can make it "selectable" but not editable.
I could probably pull the data in from PHP then have a button that would pass the variable info to another window that is a editable text box. But even that is a little complicated to pull off.
What I am trying to do, I can easily do just in PHP, but I want to keep my site in Flash as much as possible to retain the look and feel I already have.

Okay, I've done part of this animation, and when the Motion Tweening is over I need to edit one of the objects (long story short I'm zooming in on a skull and I need to edit the skull's mouth to make it talk).

The client would also like to be able to update this text on a regular basis from there own pc terminals.
Could anyone suggest any topics that cover this, the best way to do it or give me any answers to get me started.

Editable Datagrid Question?
I am using the datagrid and setting it to 'editable'. When I publish my file the first cell gets focus and erases the content. All that is left is a flashing cursor awaiting input. Is there a way to avoid this?

Editable Text In MX2004
Hi Guys, I'm hoping that someone can help me out as I have a site due out this week that needs one final touch before launch.
I'm working on this site for a musician that is on the road alot. He wants to be able to update the "News" section of his site which I have made in Flash.
I am assuming that there is some way to draw the text from a text file for the news section, but the tricky part is setting it up so that he can edit it via an online form (preferably html based).
Anyone have any experience with this?

Making A Movie Editable (swf And Wmp)
Is their any way to import an swf or windows media player file (wmp) into flash then rather than it being one long file up in the timeline I would like to convert it into individual frames for further editing.
This is how it looks straight after importing it a raw swf file:
When I select that layer and go to modify > timeline > convert to keyframes
it just converts the first frame into 567 keyframes rather than converting the whole movie.
Is their any way to make this movie editable as I have to remove certain parts of it that are not needed (i have swf files and wmp file that need doing)

the problem is that i only want the user to be able to edit the second column cells.
is this possible?

Editable Dynamic Text?
Hello,
I want to make a dynamic text field that I can edit without having to open the fla. What I want to do is create a Flash that has concert dates, as these dates change I want to be able to update the movie to reflect the changes. I originally had a dynamic text box that called on an external .txt file that I could update regularly, this caused problems. For one I wasn't able to add breaks in the lines and links were not clickable. For an example, I'd like my text to show up in the movie like this:

Instead the text looks like this:

And the links are just text, not clickable. Is there a way to make Flash reognize HTML and read the .txt file as such? Then I could just use HTML tags to add links and breaks, as it sits now the HTML tag just displays as text as well.

This is probably a simple problem but I can't seem to get it to work.
I have a input text field on the stage (frame 15) with an instance name of "emailInput".
I want to make this field ineditable when the user logs in but editable if registering.
I have tried
emailInput.editable = false;
This has no effect.
I am new to flash and assume I am omitting something very basic.
Any help would be appreciated.

So I am building a site for a customer that wants to be able to edit the text himself. I have seen sites where the person can edit the text in the SWF by just altering a txt file on the server. Anyone know how to do this. Or point me in the right direction to a tutorial
Editable Combobox Component
I have created a application using combobox wherein the combobox loads the names of the persons from an XML file. I have created the application using XMLConnector component without writing a single line of ActionScript code.
The editable property of the combobox is set to true. I would like the combobox to display the person's names when the user types the name directly in the editable combobox.
For Example: The combobox contains names like Alfred, John, Sandy etc
If user types 'J' or 'Jo' the combobox shoud open up and select the names starting with J.
AS3: Bug In HorizontalScrollPolicy And Editable In Datagrid
I have a possible bug for datagrid in cs4 (as3). The scenario involves having horizontal scrolling, good number of columns and editable columns.
The following codes basically layout that particular scenario.
The bug is the edibility of columns on the far right. If you click on them to try to edit them, another column on the left of it would become editable instead.

Creating An Editable Board Using AS
i want to make a editable board, that i can drag and drop activites into,

Creating An Editable Grid
I'm having problems creating a grid that will change individual movieclips' frame when rolled over when the mouse is down. My script seems to be acting erratically, when I push buttons, all of the mcs change even though the code to change them is onRollOver.
An example of what I am talking about is here:

Text Guestbook - Editable
Hi Everyone,
fewer clouds, more sun, hiogher temps.
What I`m looking for is a guestbook that writes the entries into a simple XML or text file. And just in case I would like to edit certain entries (which are not so nice of course...) it would be cool to do that from the flash site itself - withour DL the file and editing it - something like a simple admin interface.
