How Can I Embed A Flash Animation In A HTML Email?
A friend asked me if it was possible to embed a Flash animation in a HTML email.
I've been fiddling around with it for a while and I can get it to work fine with static images.
But the 'standard' HTML for embedding a Flash file gets sanitized by my mail client (SquirrelMail). That basically means that it strips the Flash file from the HTML.
This is what the HTML in the mail looks like:
HTML Code:
<OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0"
WIDTH="200" HEIGHT="400" id="bobler" ALIGN="">
<PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="bobler.swf"> <PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high> <PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#DDF8FF> <EMBED src="bobler.swf" quality=high bgcolor=#DDF8FF WIDTH="200" HEIGHT="400" NAME="bobler" ALIGN=""
TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></EMBED>
</OBJECT>
and this is what it looks like when the mail client displays it:
HTML Code:
<!-- begin sanitized html -->
<div class='bodyclass'>
<param name="movie" value="bobler.swf"> <param name="quality" value="high"> <param name="bgcolor" value="#DDF8FF">
</div>
</param></param></param>
<!-- end sanitized html -->
Is it possible at all to use Flash in HTML emails or do all email clients strip it?

Embed PDF In Flash File
Hi
_CURRENT SITUATION:_
I am creating an e-learning simulation in Flash. However, the
simulation isn’t the problem. The simulation needs to be an .exe to
take advantage of the full screen size.
My boss wants the users of the course to begin in a PDF document.
When they get to the end of the unit, she wanted the users to click a
link to start that exercise (the Flash projector file).
_PROBLEM:_
This is a pain because Acrobat will not launch .exe files due to
security reasons. Although I have created a self-closing, launcher
html page that can be launched from Acrobat, the user is bombarded by
warnings from Windows regarding launching the .exe because it is being
launched from a html file.
Any ideas on a better way to do this? I'm using AS 2.0.
Does anyone know how to embed a PDF within Flash? My idea is to
create a Flash .exe with the PDF file built in.
I know that FlashAnts projector can do it.

Can We Embed XML File Into Flash?
Hi,
I have an external .xml file which contains simply a list of values to control a wordsearch flash application (neither did I entirely make myself).
My end product is for offline use, and i'd really just like to export the .exe but flash obviously insists on having the .xml file locally at the target path..
Is there any way to embed this xml file in the exe? or migrate my values back into the .fla?
Thanks
Embed .swf File Into Flash Kit.
Does anyone know how to do something in Flash Kit similar to Html's, "
Code:
<embed src="www.mywebsite.com/shockwaveflash.swf"></embed>
"? I want to put it in my signature, only with a different flash URL and file.
If not, how do you turn on the Html code option in the bottom-left-hand corner of this window? I'm clueless.
That would be nice.
Any help is appreciated!

Controlling One Flash File From An Embed One
I have built 2 flash files - one with all of the content, and one with all of the menu buttons, (I did this so I can update the "buttons.swf" file without having to edit the "content.swf" file). I have no problem loading the "buttons.swf" file using the loadMovie function, but I don't even know where to start when trying to control the "content.swf" file.
The buttons should be able to control the gotoAndPlay function of the "content.swf" file so they can control the pages that appear in the "content.swf" file.
How would I go about doing this, and where would I need to add the code? Into the "buttons.swf" file, the "content.swf" file, both, or is it even possible?
Thanks

How To Embed Video File In Flash?
Hi all,
I need to embed a video file in flash, how do I go about doing this?
What is the best method (keeping file size in mind)?
I have 3 video formats that need to be embedded in flash. They are real player, window media player and quicktime. Do I need to embed all three or can I get away with embedding only one? Reason for all three is to make sure that someone will be able to view it without having to download the player. I imagine, a user will have one of the three already installed on his/her machine.
Please all help on this matter is great appreciated.
Thanks.

How To Embed A Flash File Into Header.
this is the site that I'm working on.
I can't get the flash file to show up in the banner section. I really don't know anything about embedding flash files. I tried to use the WYSIWYG editor in Dreamweaver but I guess I'm missing something.
Here is the code that I have for that part of the area. What do you think?
EDIT: i saw that it was missing a directory path in the url. it's done now.
Best Way To Embed Flash File In Web Page?
Hi,
I normally just use:
Code:
<object width="658" height="400">
<param name="movie" value="flash.swf">
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
<embed src="flash.swf" width="658" height="400" wmode="transparent">
</embed>
</object>
But what is the best way?
Should I use swfobject?
How do I set it up, so if they don't have Flash installed, it simply shows a JPEG?
Many thanks for your help.
Best Way To Embed .mov File In Flash Presentation
Hi have a .mov file (it runs about 6 seconds) that I want to play in a flash presentation. The entire presentation runs about 30 seconds so it's just one part of it...what's the best way to do this? Convert the mov file to a flv file and then simply make it a scene in the main presentation? I need the audio/video to run together for the 6 second part if that makes a difference in the way to do this. Any suggestions?
[F8] Possible To Embed .swf In An Email (it's An ECard)
I designed a nice eCard for a friend's Salon and really really wanted to embed it in an email so that the end user would recieve the card upon opening the message. I've done a lot of reading and it seems that embedding an .swf has become a no no for security reasons though in the past people have developed work arounds for this problem. The last few work arounds I've explored have noted that this will not work in XP w SP3 or in IE8 or whatever other caveats that imply it will not be possible.
Since none of the info I've come across is current -- I thought I'd ask here to see what the current definitive answer on this topic is.
Should it be no, it's not possible, I was thinking that I would just embed a web page that looks exactly like the eCard and use the card as a link to the actual card hosted on my server. Problem is I don't know how to make the still image (I took a screen shot of the card playing) and make it into a link.
Thanks in advance for your insight !!

Embed Flash Mp3 Player In Another Swf File Using Instances?
Is it possible to insert a wordpress flash mp3 player found at wpaudioplayer(dot)com into another another swf file? I tried using instances to upload the swf into a movie clip which I accomplished successfully with another swf, but not with this one. I know how to put it into html, but I would much rather have it actually in another swf. If can be done that way or another, please let me know! Thanks a lot...
Can You Embed Sound-animation In Email?
Hello:
I've just created a simple Flash eCard with animation and a music background. Initially, I was to convert this SWF file into an animated GIF so I can embed it into an Outlook email. I realized GIF cannot embed sound.. so, any suggestions as to how I can incorporate this animated eCard with music into a new email so it can be viewed immediately when the receiver opens it?
I know there are secondary solutions like supplying a hyperlink or making an attachment - I really don't want to settle for these unappealing options until I know there's no possible way of embedding this animation.
Is it possible though?

Email File Through Flash
Greetings all,
I am working on a rather involved project. Basically, this project allows the user to select a general design layout and add to this layout several pre-defined choices. At the end of this process, the design layout and options are emailed to my account.
In addition, I would like to allow the user the option to attach an art file/image prior to completing this process so that the email mailed to me will include their art file.
Anyone know if this is possible through Flash MX 2004? Any simple examples out there?
Thanks all.
First time user here ... LET ME BELIEVE! Kidding. Seriously, I would appreciate any help.

Email Format For Flash File?
Hello all,
I'm new to flash and have learned a great deal on this site. My question is what's the best format to save flash files in to send via email. I've put together a information piece I want to be able to email people so I need a format most people will be able to view.
Do most people have the Flash stand alone player? If people have the ability to view Flash web sites, does that mean they have the stand alone player as well?
Any suggestions would be appreciated...
PS
I will send this most of the time to companies with fast connections (if that matters)

[F8] Flash 8 - Email Form: How To Get Users Specified Email In From Portion Of Email
Hey guys,
I want to add a newsletter to my new website that people can add their email addresses to. First off, I would like to have a field that the user can type his email address in, and have that field check if the email is valid (ie make sure that there is an @something.something).
Next, I would like it to send an email to my email address, with their email address in the from portion of the email (basically as if they have emailed me directly from their email). This way, it will be very easy for me to add them to my mailing list.
Thanks a ton for any help... Ive been searching for a while on how to do this, but couldn't find a way to put the users email in the from portion of the email.

Open Email Client Through Link In Text-file Loaded In Flash?
Hi,
My flash document contain a few buttons which open some movieclips and also a txt-file with an an address and an emailaddress.
The code that triggers the movieclips and the variables looks like this:
Code:
menu.btn1.onRelease = function() {
_root.container.unloadMovie();
loadMovie("textField.swf", _root.container);
loadVariables("geschiedenis.txt", "_root.container");
loadMovie("scrollerWat.swf", _root.lijn1.scroll_mc);
this._parent.activateItem (this);
};
Everything works like a charm but the thing is I want users to be able to click on the email address so they can sent me a mail.
Normally this isn't a problem in flash typing in the URL "mailto:" option but since I dynamicaly load a text into flash I don't know how to add this "mailto" function.
My text-file contains the following:
Code:
