Exporting A .txt File From Flash
What I'd like the user to do is type anything they like into the swf and click a button that exports it as a .txt file called 'NewsText.txt'.

I know this is potentially tricky so I would be really grateful for any help that could be offered.

Exporting Flash As An .exe File
Ok... everytime I buy a new CD that has the "Enhanced CD" logo I get all jittery to see what the content is. Most often, the content is a simple autorun textfile that redirects to a Macromedia Projector Application file. Now, I'm relatively sure that Projector files come out of Macromedia Director software. So here's the question... Can I create these same applications in Flash. If so, how do I successfully add the .exe extension to the Flash file. Is this something which requires the use of Extension Manager?

Flash MX 2004 Pro Exporting To Mov File
Hello all...

Can someone assist me with this issue? I am attempting to publish my FLA as a MOV file and I consistently get a Flash/Quicktime error when publishing stating that "the installed version of Quicktime does not have the handler for this Flash movie file"? Not sure what this means. I have Quicktime Pro 6.5 installed and I also attempted to do this with Flash MX and MX 2004 Pro...same issue..

This worked before..but with a different fla. But this comes up for many of my files...and furthermore...what's the point of the EXPORT feature if that doesnt work properly either? I attempted to export the fla as an AVI file and the animations are not working properly and it is real slow! The FLA I am using is only an animated logo, but the stage is set for 1800x1200 res...please help.. Thanks!

Exporting A Part Of A Flash Video To A File...
Is there a tutorial here or anywhere else that shows how to export what is seen in the .swf to a emailable/printable file? Maybe someone here knows how to?

If that makes no sense, you know those flash apps where you can make a little cartoon character by choosing different things like hair, nose, eyes, etc. and then print or email the finished product? That is essentially what I want to be able to do.

Exporting AVI Problem... MCs Won't Play Out
Please please help me if you can.

I have to publish my flash movie to an AVI. unfortunately, I have created the movie so that the first frame is a MC. This means that when I publish the file, it only publishes 1 frame, and does not run the MC in total like a SWF file.

Anyone out there know a technique for me to avoid having to rebuild the MC and doing it over on the main timeline??

any help is appreciated. I'm on a deadline like no other (who isn't?!)

Getting An Swf To Play Within Another Flash File
I am trying to get a small swf to play within another larger project I am working on.

Its just a simple 25 frame animation with an object fading in and out but it needs to be in the background for the entire animation so I thought the best way to do it would be to export it as a separate swf and then place it into my larger project.

The problem is although its in my library and on my timeline it just doesn't actually play. Have I got to add some scripting to tell the frame to play the swf or something?

It's listed in the library as a 'movie clip' - I presume thats correct...

I have this html page with a flash animation (intro) and I would like it to only play once to the visitor and the next time the visitor views the page go to the end of that animation (with a button to have a choice to play the animation again) or play another swf.

Tiggering A .pps File To Play From Within Flash
Hello, all.

It's a client requirement: he wants a PowerPoint presentation to play after clicking something from a Flash file. I have saved the PowerPoint file as a .pps file to ensure it plays, hopefully, everywhere it goes. In Flash, I tried the getURL () method, but this method prompts me to either download or open the .pps file. While it's all good to just click on the open option to run the .pps, my client will just get me to think of a better method to do it. So, does anyone have a idea on how this could be done?

Flash File Doesn't Play On Web
Right.

1. I have a video file (.avi)
2. I import it into Flash CS3
3. I then save the file
4. I export it and publish it (I also do the Crtl + Enter shortcut to test)
5. I double click on the SWF file and works fine
6. I click on the published HTML file and movie runs
7. I have a mapped drive (R:) to the root of the INTRANET where I store all the files
8. I can run all the files from the R: drive
9. When I try and access it via http://ourintranet/video.asp or video.swf I get nothing

Please can someone help me please! I tried the flash sandbox security thing but nothing came of that.

It seems not to work on our INTERNET and INTRANET but works on our EXTRANET and on my personal site as can be seen here: http://downloaddog.co.uk/video/video.html

Anyone have any idea? I am thinking it's something to do with the server itself but would like to know for sure. I have tried testing it in latets version of IE and Firefox with latest (stable) versions of Flash Player installed.

How To Play Out Of Flash Limit File?
I had a little app to do. In fact it's really simple it's about 40 little flash file (.swf) that are playing in loop.

Up to now I make a flash file in which I put the number of scene of my swf (1 to 40) and I put a loader component at the beginning of each scene which play the file(1 to 40). The number of frame change each time. Also i need to set the time which mean if 1.swf during 425 frame I need to put 425 on scene 1...

What's happen is that after 16000 frame flash loop on the scene. So I need a way to bypass that.

Flash MX EXE File Created In Mac Will Play In PC?
Happy New Year all:

I was wondering if I create an EXE file on a Mac using using Flash MX Mac version, will this same EXE file be playable on a PC?

IE, create Flash Movie first on a MAC, then create projector resulting in file_name.exe (to be used in a plug and play CD-Rom, etc.), then will this executable file play on a PC?

Or do I have to use a Flash MX PC version to play on a PC (for movies and exe files, etc)?

- then using a Sound Object, I am loading each songs.
- pretty simple, but it does not work in firefox.

I heard it have something to do with the javascript file that flash CS3 generates, but I don't know java very well.

Can anyone help please. I have been trying to export my swf to a jpg. The picture is going to be used for the background to my site. The dimensions of the image are 1000px by 1 px. I get a message that I can not export with anything less than 4px width.

Play CD Audio Tracks From Flash File On CD
Is it possible to launch the CD Audio Tracks from a flash filed used as the start page for a Enhanced CD. I am unsure of how to link to the tracks in a way that will play them as a standard CD.

Example:
Auto-play opens flash file animation in HTML page
A link launches a video on the CD
Want to add a link to play the CD Audio Files

One Flash File To Play Different Movies On Each Page
i have a flash header on a site that i am building right now. it has a short little intro that it plays through, but since the rest of my site is in php, everytime a new page is visited, the movie starts over.

i think i thought of a way to do it, but i'm not sure how to implement it. i basically thought that there could be a file that flash calls everytime that will have a variable that says if the user is on the front page or not, and then writing the appropriate actionscript telling the flash movie to play / not play the intro movie inside.

i hope that makes sense. it's a little hard to describe i guess. but if anyone has any ideas or has worked with this type of situation before and know of a better way, then please let me know.

Error Everytime I Play My Flash/swf File.
Hi guys,
Ive been experiencing some problems with a project I am currently working on. I think I know what the problem is but I have no idea how to resolve it.
Basically I found out that every time I add in some actionscript (there are no errors at all in this code by the way as Ive used the exact same code somewhere else) to the main timeline the movie plays all the way through without stopping or reading any of the coding, plus I keep getting this error as shown below:

Flash SWF With Video File Will Not Play In Web Page
Hello Flash group,

I have created a flash video file from a *.wmv file. myvideo.flv.
I have used flash to build an swf file that plays the video (with a default skin).
I have then imported the media file into an html page using Dreamweaver. I did not import the flv file, but the swf file with the "video" in it.

The page plays find on my development server (where Flash,Dreamweaver, etc is installed).
When I moved the html page, the flv file, the swf file and the skin to my production webserver (linux and apache)
the flash files do not show up on the web page. The dev server is a windows XP running apache 2.2)

Any ideas on what I need to do???

I Need Flash To Play Two Movies In A Single Swf File

I have two videos: bending.flv and lifting.flv (I also have them in swf format).
I want the user to click play and for the videos to play one after the other, basically combining the videos
into one. However, I need to add a screen that says the second video is coming up after the first one finishes

when i do the same in html it obv does load but before it does i get a yellow warning bar on my browsers top telling me to not do this and it is only after I close the warning bar that the flash loads.
