Flash :: Exporting To 4 From 5

Exporting Image Created With Flash.. Overlaying Image With Text Then Exporting As Jpg
Is this possible? Say I have a user insert certain text onto a image using flash which would not be hard, but then is it possible to export the image as a jpeg for the user to download? The seems impossible but I figured it might be possible.

I keep on getting this error message: must export movie to flash 5, what does this mean, and how do I correct the problem?

I've got a movie (wow).

When i press test movie my movie works 100% fine, exactly how i want it. When i export the movie and open the file it doesn't work. i just get a dot that sits there. i think the dot is part of the movie, one of the symbols.

It seems like none of the code is being included when i export it.

Is this because none of the code is being exported? If so how do i turn it on?

I also would have thought it would work because when you test movie it exports it and plays it.

Well, i hope someone can point out my stupidity to me.

Exporting To Cd Rom
Hi All,
I created a navigation bar in flash that has a drop down menu which will open some pdf files. I exported that as a swf to dreamweaver and all was well, UNTIL I saved it to cdrom for others to review. This site will be accessed from CDROM only and I can't figure out where to direct my geturl to so that it opens these files. I have the site set in dreamweaver to a relative site but I am lost from there.

Hi!

I tried to export my Flash movie to .mov format, but somehow, I keep getting this error that quicktime cannot handle the movie etc... The thing is I tried to do this before, but in Flash 5, and it works. So, is there any specific requirements for Flash MX wrt exporting to Quicktime format?

i'm trying to export my .fla into a movie to be used as a looping movie for our projector. when i export it as .mov it gives me an error that my version of quicktime is unable to handle the request...or something like that. i have the newest version of quicktime - but not the pro version. is there a way to export it so when i put it on a dvd it will loop continuously?

Everytime I try to export the .fla to .avi it gives me a message saying that there was an error and it was unable to create the file. It actually worked once bofre, but when tried again or at another computer it failed . Is there smoething wrong with the codecs we are using?
I am trying to get this "animation" into video Factory 2.0 and if there is a way around the .avi that would also help. Bottom line...help me export.

Exporting As Avi
I started making a flash based narrative animation for my AVCE course by creating characters seperately, then adding them as movie clips over animated backgrounds. When i hand it in it would be best if it is an avi so that it can be put onto VHS, via an editing computer, for a film showcase.

The problem is that the movie clips don't run when exported as an avi. Is there anyway around this or will i have to hand in the SWF file? Any help would be much appreciated, cheers.

Hi can someone tell me how to set the publish seting for a swf.
I would like to email the swf to a viewer, but at the same time, I would like it to show full screen and also be protected, the viewer cant do anything but view it, can this been done? thanks

I'm not sure this is the right forum, but hopefully someone knows the answer.
A few months ago I came across a tutorial explaining how to export an image from a flash movie (at runtime) in .eps format. Now I can find no sign of it anywhere. I know it included exporting the image as a text file and the user changing the suffix to .eps by hand, (which sort of implies that it is in fact a print spool file), but I don't know where to start.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

What i would like to do is export a single frame as a jpg. This needs to be done using action scripting though, i dont know if this is possible or not but if anyone knows the answer then i would be grateful if they could let me know.

Specically the preloaders and the scenes.
In other words will this be like individual movies, preloader to page?
What do I use for the preloaders as far as code . Ive just got

Exporting AVI
Hi,

I've built an animation using a song and some pictures that changes acording to the timeframe of that song. I've positioned everything so the animation looks fine and follows that song. When exporting to EXE or SWF, the animation looks fine but when exporting to AVI, the animation is faster then the song. Is there a way to fix that... Please help me I need to create a VCD in a week...

I have been playing around with Dreamweaver and Flash and am having a problem.

Can anyone tell me how to correctly export an image from Flash so that I can insert it into Dreamweaver.

At the moment when I do it the image appears to have a very fine white border around it when I load it up in a webpage.

Ive made an animation and have tried exporting as an avi, when playing the avi back the screen seems to be split into 3 and is a bit 'ghosted' if that makes sense? Does anyone know why this is happening? Help!! :-/

hey just wondered if anyone knows if there is a way to create swfs from inside flash? like if you could somehow create/export a swf from a movie clip created dynamically or manually in a flash swf at runtime?

Hows it going folks. Ok I wanted to export my Flash movie as a Quicktime .mov. Kept getting that error message at the start but upon further investigation on the macromedia site I discovered that it need to be converted to a flash player 4 file as quick time currently only supports flashplayer4.

Anyway I did that and it worked however it has caused problems with how my animation plays which I am assuming is due to the F.P4 conversion.

Can anybody help me with this problem. Surely all Flash movies arent converted to F.P 4 inorder to play as .mov?

Exporting As .avi
I have a big final project for a video technology class and I have worked very hard in Flash combining animation with live action and such. When the time came to export it as a .avi (to give it some finishing touches in video editing software and also to meet the requirement), the .avi file came out all messed up. It shows pictures but it wont animate them accordingly, its hard to explain but its almost like a slideshow without transitions.

How do I fix this? I'm desperate this project was due today.

Exporting A .swf To .gif
I've been trying to export a .gif from Flash. The .swf has several video files playing inside the timeline (not flvs) .. and I just want to make a .gif out of that.

It's exporting, but the .gif runs REALLY slow. So I tried exporting a jpg sequence and then importing that sequence into the timeline, then exporting THAT as a .gif, and it's still really slow.

The .swf file plays at 29fps (the same as the video clips) .. and I'd like to make the .gif as close to that as possible.

I even tried ImageReady, but it's still way too slow.

Any ideas?

I'm sort of new to flash... and i'm having problems with my exported movie not matching up with my timeline.

Everything looks fine in the flash document... but when exported things aren't animating correctly... has anyone run into this problem?

I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this... but here goes.

I'm trying to export my flash animation as a .mov quicktime file. But when I try, it says that "The installed version of Quicktime does not have a handler for this type of Macromedia Flash movie."

I checked the Quicktime site, but found nothing about this. Has anyone else had this issue, or know what the problem might be? Thanks in advance...

A business associate sent me an FLA file. I can open it, modify it, save it...no problem.

Is there any way to export all components from within the FLA file to individual files? For example, within the FLA file, there are a whole lot of images, shapes, etc. I'd like to be able to export everything into a folder and when I look in that folder, I'd see, "Image01.jpg, Image02.jpg, Image03.jpg" etc.

I was wondering is there a setting in Flash when exporting for movie that will grab all external content related to the file. Bacially so that the .swf can be played anywhere without having to send with it the image, txt, and other content that make up the file.

Exporting Swf
I've got a flash movie which references 2 movie clips and loads 1 external swf. I'm using creative suite 3. When I export my movie in Flash everything works fine. The .txt file that is referenced is found, and it loads the external swf. But when I go back to Finder and open the swf in Flash player (or when I open the HTML file which it sits in) the external movie doesn't load and it cant find the txt file. All files are in the same directory and I've resaved and reloaded all files to make sure they are there. Is there something else in the exporting or anything else that is causing this issue??

Exporting FLA/SWF To FLV
How can I turn my Flash 8 animation into an FLV file?

The only solution I've found is exporting it as a .MOV file. But to do this I have to use Flash 5, which destroys my animation since there's no movieclip filters.

There has to be a way to do this, or Adobe is just retarded for not seeing the massive need for animators uploading to the web via FLV. My searches online for a solution have been fruitless.

Any reason flv would not be an option when I try to export? Is there something I need to do to my .fla before this option becomes available? I can export as .swf, quicktime, animated gif, pict sequence, and several other kinds of image sequences.

I thought there might be a problem with the way my software was installed at work (Windows) so I downloaded a trial copy at home (Mac) and am having the same problem with the same .fla.

am now trying to use my thunderbird as my newsreader.

We have an ad template for some of our customers in PDF form. I need
to write something that accepts their name and website address, then
places this on the ad template, and exports to a PDF that they can
take to newspapers and such.

Is there a way to do this with ActionScript? It must be exported to a
PDF and cannot be an image.

hey everyone. i have a file in Flash CS4 that i built in action script 3. i have the file saved and compacted as an .fla, but when i try to export the movie as a .swf and save it, nothing happens. i export to desktop and it doesn't show up. no matter where i try to export it, there is nothing there. what am i missing? thanks.

I am trying to export a flash file (into Quicktime-I presume that's best) and keep the high quality resolution that I have in flash.
This will later be run on either a DVD player or a Mac and projected in a constant loop onto a screen. I would prefer to have this available in a format that can be put onto a DVD.
However, when I export into Quicktime or QT video my file becomes grainy and ugly... Any suggestions?

I've exported an Flash animation as a .mov on a Mac computer. Now I've mailed it over to my friend who's on a PC and he's unable to open it? Is there some sort of setting that makes it compatible on both platforms

I'm new to Flash MX. I just created a 400x150 button that plays sound when you move over it. When I try to save it as a .swf, it always becomes much larger than 400x150 when I upload it onto the web. What am I doing wrong?

How do I export it as a *.mov, and have it animated at the same time?

I need to export my flash movies to .mov files. When I do that it says Quicktime doesn't support it above Flash 5. So I change the settings and try again. It exports successfully. When I play the movie on my computer it plays the right way. When I transfer it over to my proffessor's computer It plays as a sound file. The size of the file on my computer is only about 6kb for a 200+ frame animation.

Can anyone help?
BTW I'm using Flash professional 8 and Quicktime 7.1.3 Pro

If i export my flash project as a "HTML" file, how do i make it so its in the center of the html page? (without making it look pixelated because my project is 800x600).

Everytime i export it as a html file, the flash file is always sitting on the top left hand corner in the html page
