Resize Flash Movie, Make HTML Page Also Resize?
Hi All Flashkitters

I'm trying to do something that I believe is probably pretty simple and I'm guessing it involves some Javascript along with the Actionscript.

It's like on Fantasy Interactive's website, when you click on different sections of the site, the Flash container movie resizes, and makes the HTML page also resize vertically, to be able to scroll the content. Does anyone know how to acheive this? Its a handy function, I'd love to master it. It opens a big door for building flash sites that can hold real content.

So, anyone can point me in the right direction, I am greatful to.

Flash Swf Alignment In HTML
I have seen some site where there is an HTML border and flash in the center.
My question is how does one align is so perfectly?

I have used Front page to try and align the swf.
I have tried using frames, but the swf wont fully go to the top nor the sides of the center frame.

I know a little html, but apparently not enough to solve this problem
...
I am 1st under the impression that for these style of site they design a bg in photoshop and then put the swf over it?

Html Alignment And Flash
I want to align my swf inside the html page on the left side with no margins , i tried many different way but no luck, the problem is that my swf has a pic that is all the way to the left and when i see in the html there's a little pace on the left side and it doesn't look good.

HTML Alignment With Flash
Hello, how can I align my .swf so the top of my Flash file touches the top of the browser window? After I publish the Flash file and view it in a browser, there is about a 20 pixels gap between the top of my .swf and the top of the browser window. Any thoughts?

Flash HTML Alignment
Ok had a problem with Dreamweaver not liking my dinamic text in my swf movie within a DW HTML page. Anyway decided to use the HTML page create by Flash with the publish command.

So now all the dinamic text loads ok the only problem is the swf file in the HTML page generated by the publish command does not align correctly (always to the left in the browser) even when I choose align centre or browser defalt the swf file is always is left of the centre of the web page.

Any idea how to sort this out?

can i get it so the stage of the swf is always in the middle of the html and the outside of the stage fills the rest of the screen? so if you have a higher resolution then you will see more of the flash movie.

Alignment/Resize Problem
Hi,

Right now I'm working on a flash site that will be set at 100% by 100% in the browser and I'm having trouble getting things to align and resize correctly.

First off I have a background clip which contains an image that I would like to center vertically and horizontally and have resize with ease everytime someone resizes their browser, etc. I figured out the ease problem but couldn't seem to get it to stay centered.

Also I have a mainMC which contains the whole layout of the website. On the homepage I would like this to center both horizontally and vertically and for the rest of the pages I would like to realign it to 100 or so pixels. I can't seem to get this to work either. I know I have to have it figured out the stageheight and then work off of that but I'm really lost. I don't nessessarly even need it to center x center on the homepage being 150 pixels from the top at all times would work but I just can't figure it out.

Then last but not least I need the footer to cling to the bottom of the movie at all times but I can't seem to figure this out either. I'd like to use ease on all of these if possible just so it transitions smoothly but I can't seem to get it to all line up.

Can someone maybe help out here?

Flash/html Frame Alignment Issue?

The above site consists of 3 html frames. When viewed on a mac all the frames align perfectly but on a pc (windows 98 and XP) using internet explorer the top from with the flash menu (uprizer.swf) and the left bottom frame with the (left_side.swf) don't align????? The bottom swf are one pixel off to the left? Are tried to do the index.html in both dreamweaver and Go-live but the result is the same?

Content Alignment Durring SWF Resize?
I created a flash intro to a website at 800x400 and i realized i needed it to be the at 1000x600 to load into the main movie and I can't resize it. When i change the document size in flash the boundaries are increase right and down leaving my intro in the upper left corner.

Is there any way to move everything on the entire timeline? or a way to resize where the canvas size is increase in the top and left regions putting the content in the bottom right corner?

How do I centre a SWF file that loads in an associated HTML file, please?
Everytime I create an HTML file for the associated SWF file, the SWF file loads off-centre (on the left side).

Hi guys having trouble centering my site when publishing. I see in the publish settings there is an HTML alignment setting which has options, DEFAULT, LEFT RIGHT, TOP and BOTTOM but there is no CENTRE.

I have a movie that I am trying to align centered on the top of the page - should be easy I suppose. I'm not too fond of anything not Flash related, so I get stuck. Here is my code that I am trying to make work:

Firefox 2.0 works right - IE 7 places the movie Top Left. Any suggestions?

80% Alignment Of Swf In HTML

when i set the document with 100% it aligns automatically in the center, but if i set the .swf to 80% it wont align in the center, but top and left!

HTML Alignment Problem

I have a movie that is 1152*864 in size and at 1152* 864 resolution looks fine but when viewed at a resolution higher than this the entire flash file is not centered it is aligned to the left. Here are the Publish settings I have:

Dimensions: Match Movie
HTML Alignment: top
Flash Alignment: Horizonatl- centered; Vertical- Top

I think the problem is under the HTML Alignment setting in Flash. I think I need this setting to be centered however there is no option for center, only left top right and bottom and default.

In dreamweaver I have tried to put the whole flash file inside a table that is center with no luck and have tried also to center the Table row and Table column with no luck. What am I missing here. By the way I don't want to use

Ok, I will word this in a different way. I posted earlier and received no responses. So, I will post once again.
I am trying to make sure that my Flash CS3 Html web page stays centered across various computer monitor
platforms.

I found this code in an earlier post and wondering if the code will work.

How To Dynamically Resize Flash In HTML...
Please look at this page:  http://www.aprimo.com/

1.  Notice how the page resizes?
2.  Notice how this is NOT simply a Flash movie that has been published to HTML and the HTML is calling the SWF.  Instead, notice how most of the page is HTML and there is an embedded flash movie that resizes with the page.

Try it with Internet Explorer, FireFox, etc. and it works fine--no problem.

Does anyone know how this is done?  Javascript?

Can anyone explain how I can do this?

The horizontal lines in this splash continue across no matter if your browser is half open or full screen. I have always wondered how you resize the window and the design stays the same...

are we putting a 1024x786 pic inside a 800x600 doc, aligning it to the left? and the rest gets cut off and seen when you go full screen?

I wanna make a flash interface where a line goes across the screen,
want the site to be seen when browser is maxxed, yet seen when its not maxxed......but to preserve the quality.....
i dun wanna have to put a flash movie in an html page......and then have to continue the line with a background image that continues the line from my flash movie . Hope this makes sense.

Picture Alignment I HTML Field.

If I have understood things right, CS3 is the only version of Flash that supports the image HTML tag when loading an HTML code from a .txt document. I use CS3, but only Action Script 2. I find that easier.

I can't get the pictuers which I load into the text field in line. When I preview the movie, they place themselves in a vertical line, not horisontal, like I want them to. This is the code I use:

Resize Flash? Embedded Within HTML (Firefox)
I'm having a problem resizing Flash movies displayed within a web page viewed using 'Firefox' I'm new to the game, so forgive me if I'm not too clear... I'll try me best Viewed with 'IE', I can get an embedded Flash Movie to resize/scale when the browser window is resized. Yet after recently trying 'FF' as a browser, and liking what I saw, I am keen to have my site compatible with 'FF' and other browsers.

Right, my problem...When I have the movie displaying/scaling on browser resize in 'IE' embedding at 100% of browser window, it all works fine. When viewed using 'FF' (and maybe other Mozilla browsers) it seems to want to resize horizontally. It's the vertical or 'height' where I think the problem lies.
I have done a fair bit of searching via Google and site specific searches (using Search plugins in 'FF' ) and only found a few clues... I'm new to the game remember The little I have learnt trying to solve my problem is that 'IE' is either forgiving or does too much for you... Or it could be that 'FF' is not as forgiving, or does too little I think it's something to do with 'FF' needing to know - "100% of what?" But as I said, I get a hint that 'FF' is taking note of the 100% width. Yet seems to ignore the height. (So I ask - "FF, why do you take note of width% yet ignore height% )

I'm starting to repeat myself... have a look at this little example:-

I hope to have a little feedback on this. As I'm sure this problem may of been solved endless times in this forum, there seems to be no clear explanation (that I can find) which clears it up for novices and professionals alike.

Embeded Fonts + Html Images Alignment Issue
I'm experiencing a problem with using embeded fonts + html text + images.

The images aren't aligned properly after using an embedded font within a dynamic textfield -- the images are aligned to the top and overlap the pervious paragraph's content.

Is there a solution to this issue?

Hello Everyone,

I just want to know, is it possilbe to resize the Stage width and Stage Height Dynamically depending upon the length of the content or the length of the text with out using the TAxt Area or Customize text area, or any scroll entity of flash.

I want this to look like a html page that you can scroll down through it's container.

i will use it in my project..

Now here's the intriguing part for me, i want to strech the stage height dynamically because if the i'll add another employee, the node will flow out of the screen and I wanted to prevent that.

Do you think its possible to do that.

I've trying to change the Stage height like this.

Stage.height = DynamicHeight;

but it doesn't have an effect.

Can You Dynamically Resize A Flash Movie In Embedded In HTML From Within The Movie?
Did that subject line confuse anyone? Hope not.

What I am looking into doing is having a movie that is 200x200 (could be any size, I just randomly chose those numbers).

Inside that movie I have an empty MC that gets .jpg's loaded in using loadMovie() .

Now I would like to be able to resize the Flash movie to the loaded .jpg's width and height....but of course in the HTML, the .swf is hard coded as (in this case) 200x200.

It doesn't look as if it would be possible but I sure would like someone to proveme wrong.

SWF Resize In HTML
I have an html/swf that I am defining through the percentage values (swf) at 100% x 100% causing a full screen website.

I am trying to have the swf movie stay 800 x 650 pixels in the browser window no matter what the persons screen resolution is set to - I hate how the movie will look one way on your computer and worse on someone elses because they are using a higher screen resolution causing the movie to either go outside the bounderies or look stretched and oversized/blurry.

I have tryed to define through pixels as opposed to percents and it did not work or I did not do it right.

Is there a code that will keep the movie looking the same no matter what? Can someone help me write one or guide me down the right path (please use steps if possible)

How Can You Resize A Stage And Have Flash Resize The Objects As Well?
Is there any way you can resize your stage in Flash and either have it keep the objects all cenetered or have it compensate for the objects and adjust them accordingly?

This tends to be a problem when I start a new file and then forget I want the stage to be much bigger.

Can't Get My Videoplayer To Resize The Html...hrm...
I've coded a flv videoplayer that loads clips dynamically from a MySQL db. The problem I have is as follows:

Some of the loaded clips are big, some are small, and I've designed the videoplayer to resize when a new flv is loaded - that part works. But when you export the swf, the size of the swf is hardcoded into the html. This means that you can't get the html window (which will be a pop-up) to resize to the new size of the swf. Am I clear enough?

Hope someone understands what I'm trying to ask...

I'm having (what seems to be) a strange issue when setting a text field to auto resize. I'm grabbing some content (HMTL formatted) from an xml doc, but when I add autoSize = true; i get an object rather then my text:

hi everyone..
i'm getting in trouble with my first flash work..i have my "site.swf" movie nested in an html page, lets say "index.html". site.swf is 800x500 in size. index.html is a simple start page in full size. once users load index.html , i'd like a new browser window 800x500 in size to be opened (the same size of the movie), without scrollbars, status bars,browser's buttons etc etc.(index.html should remain opened however) i tried to search function in the forum but didnt find the right javascript code to help me. i'm sure there's someone outthere that can help me..

Vertical Resize Does Also Reposition Swf In Html
i've got me a strange problem. Inspired by Hoss Gifford i started implementing his AS2 (do away with flash scroll bars example) in my AS3 application.

This works if you click on "wonen", "werken" or "winkelen" BUT the swf respositions itself within this new height (1200px). Original height is 1000px.

Resize Popup From External Dynamic Html
Hi Peeps,

small challenge here, i have no problem opening and resizing a html popup from within flash, but what about an external html file. All my text in the flash file is dynamically updated through an external html. even links are on this can i use the html to not only add links but to constrain the popup dimensions.

Resize (extend) Swf File On HTML Page
Is it possible to resize(extend the stage) of swf after it has been published? HTML pages and content extend as more content is thrown into them. Flash is just stuck at a certain size. I know you can resize flash in HTML just like you can resize images in HTML. Is it possible to write code that interacts with the HTML / JS / Browser and flash so that the flash file can extend it's stage height and display more content? I don't have an exact problem I need to solve, I just though that this may be a neat feature to work into a future project. I know you can pull a scrollbar and field in flash but that does not work for some things. Any one have any theories?

does anyone know how to align certain elements within a browser window so that for instance...

MOVIECLIP A is situated bottom right
MOVIECLIP B is situated bottom left

but when you resize the window the elememnts move in respect of it ??
(eg. getting closer or futher apart)

I am testing my movie on the web and have had a weird thing happen. While testing I noticed that the flash page is not flush with the top of the window, leaving a small border on the top. I have played around with the publish settings and still get the same thing. Can someone see what the problems is.

Resize Component Based On HTML Frame Size
I have an instance of the tree component inside an HTML frame(frame named "2" in the diagram below). I want to dynamically assign the height of the component based on the available height of the frame that the movie is embedded inside. The horizontal dimension is fixed at 200px, so that is of no concern. The frameset looks like this: (numbers = name of each frame)

I know their are some system.capibilities objects in FlashMX but I am not sure how to use them to achieve this.

Flash Alignment Problems
I have a JPG header image on a site I'm working on that is 760px wide and 174px high. See attachement of example. The header slice image (outlined in yellow) is horizontally aligned with the menu, but if I import that image into Flash and add some text tweening and export it with the same width of 760x174 it won't align with the menu below it. It is off to the right by about 2px. I don't know what is wrong. The table is exactly 760px wide also. I made sure the stage is also 760x174 and aligned with the instance of the image.

Alignment Problems In Flash, Help Please
I have a background image of size 295x185 pixels in my flash movie of the same size, the image in question is at x: 0 and y: 0 position, however when I export the movie and put it in a html doc it is not aligned with the images I have surrounding it, it looks like a very small mismatch

i have all this images and the flash movie in tables, but all padding and margins are set to 0px;

when I offset the background image to the position of x: -0.3 and y: 0 it seems to be somewhat aligned when exported, but not perfectly

I export the movie with 100% jpeg quality and without compression, but this does not seem to be solving the problem

It's basically driving me crazy, so if there is anybody with a solution proposition, please help

Hey,

I'm somewhat new to flash and recently ran into a problem with my most recent website.

The problem is that the website appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when I want it to appear in the center. I tried changing the alignment under publish settings but failed. I also then tried putting it into dreamweaver but couldn't figure that one out.

Any solutions?

Hi Buddy,

I want to display an image in to a Dynamic TextField in flash (mx 2004).
Image path i am getting from XML file. But in the following manner
..(one of the attribute in XML file)

I am getting image in to the desired textfield but its getting left aligned or right aligned but not CENTER

I have tried adding one tag in to IMG src tag also

But didnt work..please help ..any suggessions on to this one,,

I cannot keep my textfield at the center of the stage, but its width is similar to the stage width. In the above example: in the content attribute
I have just shown the image tag but actually there is lot of TEXT in it also. Not shown here.
