Flash Form Question : Sending HTML Form Values...
I'm trying to create a flash form version of an HTML form. It's basically just a voting drop down menu - user chooses "Yes", "no","maybe" from teh drop down and hits a submit buttons which would send the results to a CGI script though POST. I understand the submission aspect, but am not sure how to assign values to the drop down in the same way HTML does:

<option value="yes">
<option value="no>
...

Do I just set the combo box Data array to [yes,no,maybe]? If so, how is it to be sent?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to send what the user selects from a HTML drop-down menu to the Flash movie.

In this scenario, the user picks an email address from a drop-down list and this is sent to flash as a variable called 'eaddress' which is eventually used in the flash movie to send a message to this address.

Passing HTML Form And Hidden Variables From Flash To Html Page
Hi,

I have a html/flash site now, http://www.zachariack.com.

i access email from my site itself by giving the userid and pwd text box which i copied from the actual website hosting my email access. i copied the entire
<form...></form> tag to my page and thus was able to put the name and pwd in my home page only and access the email in a separate window.

now i have redesigned my webpage using only flash. i would like to know how i can implement the same using flash. as i have not much experience using action scripting i am a bit stuck about how you pass the hidden form variables. the below is the the exact form syntax:

I'm tryin to convert an HTML password page into FLASH and haven't a clue where to start. The site is www.modernvisionphotography.com and the code for HTML is

HTML Form To Swf
I think this is suppose to be a really simple issue if one knows what's going on! Well I created a html page with a form tag that,when the submit button is pressed, it sends a variable across to test.swf. The variable is shown on the URL so it is sending but the flash side doesnt seem to recognise it. Please could someone send me to the right direction?

How do I achieve this??

Get Variables From HTML Form
Hi All,

I'm looking for help with this problem.

I have an HTML form that users fillout information in, I then want to show the form information formatted on a Flash page. I can do this by recieving the variables then appending them to the link that loads the flash as below:

<param name=movie value="preview.swf?card_name=<?php echo $person_name; ?>">">

But this restricts to 256 characters ( and I need more). Can I get the variable into flash with PUT instead of GET.

I am using an autoresponder system and the company generates the form for me using html. I can not figure out how to use the html form with my flash website. I understand I could build my own form in Flash using php but I don't know how I could make it work with the autoresponder I have.

Load HTML Form In Swf?
Hi,

i'm having trouble in creating an online form in flash which sends the results via email (PHP). I just somehow can't make it work... and was wondering...

1. Is it possible to load a normal form created in HTML into my swf instead of creating the form in flash and pass the variables to the PHP file? (hope that's clear enough!)

2. I'm using the mail function in PHP... but the email never seems to arrive to its destination (my mailbox).. i don't even know if it is being sent at all! any method how I can check if it's being sent? or any suggestions which i can try?

Hello, I've been searching for alternative ways of creating a Flash form besides using php or a program like that. My question is: Is there a way to create a Flash form that goes through html or something? Even maybe imbedding an html form into the Flash file. I have set up a form in html using cgi-bin. The form itself is executed via flashmx, where a pop up is displayed via executing my html document. All works perfectly. Except I now require a close button, but bear in mind this is not a flash element as such. I have tried placing such a line of code on the button in the html document but all it does is execute a blank page not found window.

window.close();

I understand this is not flash, but it is kind of linked with my flash development, So if anyone does have an idea for what I am asking please advise, as it is becoming a stress and a half.

I have done some research and have not had much success with this. I use an autoresponder and the company generates the form in html only. I somehow need to get the html form in my flash site.

I am sure other people are using flash sites and have a form with an autoresponder attached...however I can not seem to find a solution. I know I could build a form in flash using php but I don't know how to tie that to my autoresponder.

Form Works In Player But Not HTML PLEASE HELP
I've been struggling with this for ages.

A form in Flash (I have beared it down to the minimum code to make it easier to diagnose).

I have a text field and the action script attached to the button is as follows:

on (release) {

}

Now if I open the swf file in the stand alone player on my PC it works fine, finds the cgi file and I promptly receive an e-mail with the input.

BUT and this is the bit that is driving me insane, as soon as I put it into an HTML file (whether that HTML file is created by Flash or Dreamweaver) it completely stops working, whether it is uploaded or running from my PC.

Filling In A HTML Form From Flash

Ive had lots of help to get this to work but am still struggling, I basically have a form that has a variety of sections in HTML and I want to be able to bring in information from a popup external flash file.

I have attached an example of the situation, so far I have had help getting the file to link and then once clicking on button it closes window and adds the string function to the top of the previous page (INDEX.htm)

All I want to know is how to get the value into the form box??
When looking at attachment click index to open and from there you will get the jist!

If possible could you attach file if you can figure it out!! As I am a beginner!

Html Form Needs To Control SWF Loaded
Hi everyone

I have been looking all over for an answer to this. I found a few ideas that seem like they might work, but aren't very platform/browser compatible. I thought someone here might have the solution.

Here's what I need:

I need the user to be able to select from the form on the left side of the screen and have that selection swap the SWF file which is loaded to the right.

Restrictions are:
1.The left form field cannot be in a SWF. It must be html. (I know how simple this would be if the whole page could be Flash)
2. I can't use frames.
3. I need it to be as platform/browser compatible as possible. I understand whatever the solution is might not work for older browsers, but I really can't have a big general kind of problem like - it wouldn't work on IE on a Mac at all.

It seems like it must have a simple solution, but I can't seem to find it. I apologize in advance if it has already been answered, I did search the forums already though.

Sending Variables From Html Form To Swf
I want to send a variable from a form in my webpage to my flash.swf w/o resending te page... the form is in html. How do i send the variable to the .swf? Javascript i'm guessing, but does anyone know how i can do this?

"A client has asked if they can have a CD which does something on the lines of downloading text into a word document for them to edit.

I have uploaded a simple table here:

What I need the users to do is to be able to select any of the checkboxes, and when they hit "Go" a word document is generated that has JUST the text from the items they have chosen and then opened or saved to their machine.

This all needs to run from the CD which will have all the files on it. I assumed forms would be the best way to do this but I have absolutley no experience with forms!

Is this possible at all in Flash?
