Flash :: Globe Rotation 360

Help With Globe Rotation Please?
Hi!
I've made a wireframe globe that has a US continent within and, after many days and MUCH angst, I still can't make the illusion of the wireframe rotating. I do NOT have the knack to "see" how it should do this (spatially challenged!), so this is very hard for me from the get-go.
Since I don't have a website yet, I also don't know of any other way to attach or send the .fla so that someone/anyone could look at it.
I would sincerely appreciate any and all help some kind soul could provide.

Change Globe Rotation With Mouse Direction

i have to create a rotating globe animation in flash with following features:
1.the globe should stop if mouse rolls over it.
2.it starts rotating to a particular side if cursor moves to the right/left edge.
3.on a particular point on the globe user should click the mouse to get the details of the companie's portfolio in that region.
4. the whole interactive animation would then b converted as a screensaver.
5. the cursor changes at a particular point or edge. i know how to do this in director but in flash.....m not sure i can do this without any plugin.....is there something in v5.0 to achieve this.
what bugs me most is the second and fifth point mentioned above. has anyone done anything similar or have any ideas about any of the 4 points kindly help. its sort of urgent......the project hasn't taken off yet but i know once its started i'll b a start to finish job......so plz give ur suggestions ASAP.

Ok, I know that I had downloaded a 3D globe from the movie section of this site. I searched for it clicked, found it, clicked on it, and it said that the page was gone. The globe looks like this (www.hollywoodtapmall.com/something.html).

Oki Thanx For Showing Some Interest in my topic....
I need some help with the 3D Globe In Space as found in movies>interfaces>3d globe.....

I've tried to contact the designer for some help but no replies. So i turn to u in hope to get an answer.

I need to know where and how to use the continents to link them with a webpage?
These a buttons, but extra-ordinary buttons a i can't edit the behavior nor AS for the buttons...
How can i do this?

Looking For A Globe
i want to make a map of the world(earth) i want this to be 3D, so the user can choose a country, moving the mouse would turn the earth to the continent they choose, then i will have a hot spot that will light up.

How would i start this, does someone have an example that would show how to turn the 3D earth image with the mouse.

hi can anyone help me with this globe?

heres my sample of the globe how do i make this?

this picture will be the globe where by all the pictures will be clickable and then once clicked the video will pop up in the movie clip

and where my mouse goes to the left it will scroll left and to right it will then go to the right

i have this script where by it shows the whole globe thingy in flash mo but how do i make the pictures merged together like the picture ?

Hi

I'm doin a site where the client has asked for a 3d wireframe globe which can be rotated left and right.

I've had a look around all the usual places and the only semi-well done examples I've been able to find were on flashkit.

Has anyone done anything like this before or know how would be best to do it?

I was toying with the idea of using the bitmap data class to distort a 2d map but as the globe needs to be wireframe you need to be able to see through to the back of the globe.

Any help on this would be much appreciated!

Arrow Going Around Globe
Hi:

I'm trying to create a Flash 5 banner and can't figure out how to get an efect to work.

I have a static globe. I'm trying to get an arrow (with a tail) to circle the globe on an arc. The arrow needs to disappear when it goes behind the globe but re-appear when it circles around the front.

I can't get the arrow and it's tail to stay on the arc, and can't figure out how to make it look like it goes behind the globe and then re-appear. It's suppose to just loop around and around the globe.

Does anyone know how to create this effect, or know of a tutorial that teaches this effect?

Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Moving Globe?
I have two flash site and I want to copy a clip from one to another it is of a globe spining I have copied and pasted it into a new flash page no problem but when I cop and paste it into the site I want it to go into it won't work all I get is a grey square box and nothing at all if I even try to edit it there. What is going on why would it work into a new fresh page and not into this site. Help please.

The globe is just graphics with masking.

my boss gave me the difficult project. he wants me spin the globe.
now i can spin the globe forward and backward. but has one error that the globe cannot play backward continuous when my mouse is move more than 1/2 of stage width.

it's should be
forward :: frame 1, 2, 3, 4, ..., 24
backward :: frame 24, 23, 22, 21, ..., 1
no have error when play on frame 1 - frame 23

find the error when play frame 24
it is
forward :: frame 1, 2, 3, 4, ..., 24
and not play backward

and the problem can found when play until the last frame.

Spinning Globe
Hi everyone...

I'm looking to create a globe that the user will be able to click/hold the mouse button and then spin it manually.

Any ideas? I have created a spinning globe in After effects which I can import in, and I have also created one with a single map image and a circluar mask... but just cant figure out how the click and spin thing would work.

Has anyone created anything like this before?

Hi

I created a movie clip wherein an orbit moves 360 degree and there is a text block over the globe which stays put. But the problem is that when I put this movie clip onto my main movie stage, only the revolving globe is visible while the text block is gone. When I move the timeline, it looks fine with globe rotating and text block sitting silently, but when I test the scene or put the movieclip on main swf file, text block is not visible. Any clues guys?

Text Around A Globe
Hi All,

I could have sworn that I saw what I'm looking for now earlier today (when I was looking for something else of course), but after 2+ hours of searching the forums, well, you get the idea.

In any case, you know the Universal Studios logo that we see on TV or at the beginning of a movie? Anyone know how to get that effect (the text coming around the globe) in Flash, or at least something similar? Just a point in the right direction would be great.

I am impressed with it actually looks like the user is shaking the snow globe. The snow and characters are reacting to the spead of the mouse movements. The animation does not look canned.

Hello everyone. This seems to be a really nice forum.

My Problem:

I have a client who sells products worldwide. What he wants on his site is a rotating globe, with selectable countries and/or regions, which will give information about those areas and direct to new pages.

Firstly, I'm not too experienced at flash. I'm just a beginner really. Basic knowledge.

I've been looking around at some fla files for globes and the like. A lot of what I've found has been made up of individually drawn frames, with the buttons set in each frame.
I think with the amount of areas/countries required, the file size and time required would be too large for me to attempt anything like that. Also, my animation skills are pretty bad.

Has anyone got any ideas? I don't think I've seen any real 3d objects with selectable buttons on them, everything I've seen has just been animated frames.
So far I've been working on a flat atlas map where the continents blow up in size to select individual countries and areas. If the worst come to the worst, I can probably pass him off on that.

hi all, im trying to get my hands on a 3D spinning earth. ive done a search on flashkit etc and found a couple, but my movie is 30fps and the ones ive downloaded are done at 12fps so i end up with an earth thats spinning really fast!

Hey all,

Does anyone know where I can find a flash animation - vector preferably - of a rotating globe of earth?

I need something that's fairly detailed and accurate and probably something that's >=48 frames. I'm willing to pay for it if nessisary.

I tried searching flashkit but I really hate that site. I haven't visited it in years but I'd hoped they'd improved the reliability and quality of it.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,

Im sure many of you have seen the papervision globe example. I have been able to make the globe zoom and spin but I need to add points on the globe that are clickable. Adding the points are easy but making them clickable is the issue because it is thinking the points are part of the globe texture. Is polar coords the answer.

Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Rotating A Mesh Globe
Anyone have any tips on how to make this globe rotate?

I know how to make a regular globe rotate no problem but as you can see this globe as a funny axis point and not enough mesh lines to actually keep a round sphere shape.
I have tried creating it in 3ds max and then exporting it as a SWF but as you can see it doesn't have enough mesh lines to support the circle...
One Idea
I'm wondering if there is a way I can make this globe 3d somehow and then use a rotate engine on it...this might be too much work!

Rotating Globe Animation
Hi, I am new here and relatively new with Flash.

I have a rather complex task which includes a rotating globe. I found this animation http://www.flashkit.com/movies/Anima...1095/index.php here on Flashkit.

Now I need to figure out how the rotating animation was drawn? Was there any 3d application used to make it easier or just manual drawing of the map rotating frame by frame? Since the Globe is transparent, wich makes it look totally awesome, I am especially puzzled with the back of the globe.

All suggestions are welcome. May be even Bishal himself can explain the drawing process here?! Thanks so much in advance!
