how can i make a flash that adjust to the screen, y mean, without deform him self... like in the fwa, that the images never deform and the content adjust to the screen...? I try to use the Stage ogject but when y strecht the movie, the 0 x of the movie is not in the left side, it come a little to the rigth...

I have a gallery.xml and a gallery.as where I load the xml file, I can trace it (showing all the text in the xml file), but now I want to load the images of the gallery.xml in many containers, like we see on www.thefwa.com. How do I do that ?

Hyperlinks TheFWA Style
If you visited TheFWA (and who didn't) you can notice that you can right click on any of their hyperlinks and menu appears where you can select 'Open' or 'Open in new window' option for example. I always took that for granted until now when i started thinking how to do that because it's great addition to any Flash site from usability stand point. Has anyone idea on how they accomplished that? Is that just a custom menu which is activated on user's right click or something even easier i am missing at the moment? Or something more more advanced? No more ORs

Dynamic Thumbnail Line Up (like TheFWA)
I guess this is somewhat a newbie question in actionscript. But just can't get any direct tutorials on this.
I want to line up thumbnails that I am gonna read from an external xml file on the stage. I want to line them up like the way "TheFWA" goes. That is to say, all thumbnails line up perfect horizontally and vertically (thumbnails are gonna be in same size) on the stage, and they also response to stage resize (whenever user resize their browser window, all those thumnails will automatically adjust their gap between each other and "re-line-up" themselves.
Anyone got any clue, any tutorials or some guide on the general approch will be much appreciated.

Thefwa Site Thumbnail Layout
Hi all,
I have been trying to figure out the best approach to doing what the site http://www.thefwa.com/ have done with there thumbnail layout.
I tried re drawing the layout every time the stage is resized but the problem with that is it reloads all the images again. They seem to only load the thumbnails that are in the visible area and not reload them all again. How or what would be the best approach for this or has anyone done it before that can shed some light or code on this.

I am new to the "fullbrowser flash" technique that is getting big lately. I am a huge fan of the simplicity of "thefwa.com" site and how it repopulates all the thumbnails to be the width of the window -minus the right section.
Does anybody have the time to teach a little about how to set up an array that fills in the grid in order by date like that depending on what the width and height is. I thought it would be fun to learn and might help me understand arrays and fullbrowser actions better.

Hi all,
I was wondering what font Group94 use on the little News box of their site (the small text with dates, not the larger text to the right - although they may be the same font, i'm not sure). It looks like a vague mix between Verdana and Arial, but I'd like to knoe for sure, and whether it's available for download somewhere. I think the fonts on *****hotel.com are similar too.
I want something very clear as it has to be very small.

On http://www.group94.com/ , when the mouse is moved over a box, it lightens and returns to the original color on Mouse Out. The box also remains lightened when the mouse is over links within that box.
How is this done? I've tried to achieve this effect but when the mouse moves over a link within a box(MC), the box returns to the original color because the mouse is not over the MC (box), it's over a button/MC which is the link.
Can anyone help me?

I know this is kind of a stupid stab inthe dark and not a specific question but could anybody point me in the right direction if I want to figure out how Group94 does their cool animated text-loading??

Methods Used By Group94 Photogalleries
I'm currently working on a photogallery based on the great tutorials and forum posts here. The examples I've seen load swfs or jpgs into a main movie and then unload them when a call is made for another image.
I've also been looking at some sites by group94 with photogalleries and unless I'm mistaken they seem to be preloading swfs containing single images into a main movie and keeping them there.

I'm using Safari and from its activity window it seems to show that whenever a swf/jpg is reloaded from the browser cache the size of browser cache increases by the size of the file. If I'm not explaining this that well here's an illustrative example:
a 50kb swf/jpg size is reloaded from browser cache and the size allocated to it becomes 100kb, and for a third time 150kb etc.
I'm attracted to the idea of preloading swfs in the background but wander how large you can go before it starts affecting the average cpu performance.
My question is: Whats worse in terms of cpu usage:
a) increasing the total size in browser cache
or
b) having a large number of image only swfs loaded into a main movie
and if b) how large would you go?

Text Effects Like Yugop.com Or Group94.com?
Hello Everyone-
This is my first post to this site. I hope I'm reaching the right forum. I read lots...but haven't written. So...hey everybody.
Has anyone seen the text effect transition that is used on group94.com? The new paragraph strings look like they replace old paragraph strings letter-by-letter.
Yugop.com has some cool effects too. He generates what looks like a random string and replaces the characters w/ the actual text. Very simple, but cool.

Group94 Pixel Video Filter
How does (group94.com) do the full screen video pixel filter on the landing page. Is that a mask in flash or some kind of After Effects filter. The dot pattern makes that video look pretty good for being so big and probably being pretty low res. I also saw this filter today on the intro to (http://www.crvrussia.ru/). i tried to replicate it using vector circles but that does not appear to be it.
Any ideas?

Does anybody know how group94 accomplishes the relative scroll effect onpress between the two buttons. If you click down the top item of the list moves up and out of the mask, the whole list shifts up, then a new item comes up from the bottom and joins the list.
Is this using a target system with different code on every button mc? or is the whole mc and nested buttons dictated by a large body of code.
I'd like to try replicating it but with images instead of text but can't find a tutorial or movie to point out how to begin.
Any help would be appreciated.

I've read that Group94 has developed a new algorithm that replaces flash's resizing algorithm and makes it possible to resize images without losing considerable quality difference, as they've shown in this example
