Help Please

I have four movies (layer1.swf, layer2.swf, layer3.swf and main.swf).
Each of the three movies layer1, 2, 3, contains a bitmap and it has rollover effects where if you put your cursor over certain part of the bitmap, a text pop will pop up and if you click on it, it will open up a link. This action is the same to all three movies (layer1, layer2 and layer3).
In the main.swf I have three buttons that are used to control these three movies (layer1, 2, 3). So, each of the movies will be load or unload when the button is click. I did this by using load/unload movies actionscript to an empty MC.
All these three movies are loaded one on top of the other. For example, if layer1.swf is loaded and the viewer wants to see layer2.swf, layer2.swf will be loaded on top of layer1. Each of these three movies could also be turn on/off.
The problem here is that because each of the layer movies has rollover effects, it gets really confusing and annoying when the movies are loaded one on top of the other. So, is there a way to turn off the rollover effects of the bottom movies and only let the top movie's rollover effect be active?
