Hotlinking (sorry For Messup Below)

hi.
could anyone tell me if it is possible to hotlink a swf the same as a gif, as I would like to have a very short clip on a discution board,
can you also do it with a roll over button with an sound action,
or, if I converted the swf to an animated gif and did it that way, can you still have sound ?, if I convert the swf to gif, what fps would you reccomend for a disscution board ?

Okay so I was building my flash site and I think I'm going about it all wrong.. but I'm not sure. If I am doing it right then I don't know how I can get AS controlled movement to work properly the way the timeline is setup.

Can anyone take a look at my FLA? (Say yes and I'll email/AIM/MSN it to you)

Hotlinking
When you are using dreamweaver, if you wanted a link to go to a word file, pdf or jpeg for example, you just highlight a word or words and click on a button and choose a file to link it with. I think it is called hotlinking anyway. My question is how to you do that sort of thing in Flash where you click on a button/link and goes to a separate file?

Prevent Hotlinking
I am new to Adobe products, so not exactly sure if the Adobe Media Server suits our needs. We are working towards an app that provides streaming mp3 music to end users via a flash player. What we want to do is prevent users from getting to know the url of the mp3 on our server. Is it possible to do that with the Media Server?

(couple of hours of research proves .htaccess and likes are no good solution)

Protect Swf From Hotlinking
Can an swf check to see what the url of the page in which it is embedded is?

I don't care if other people host copies of the swf, but I dont want them to embed my copy in their pages, so I want to show some kind of default image if the html address is not my site.

Is Flash Buggy Or Did I Messup On My Asc3 Coding
the issue i tried to implement where there is three different backgrounds....

everytime you load the swf file it will load 1 of the 3 backgrounds...but somehow it seems it will always load the first rarely the second and never the third...
also sometimes a blank page appears from where i have no idea...spent hours on it was wondering for some help from you newbs and experts

Wierd PHP/Flash Email Form Messup
SO I was following Sen's tutorial on making a really simple and easy Flash email form, but when I actually sent something, this is what the body and headers looked like:

Name: <TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2">Ghoulash</TEXTFORMAT>
Email: <TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2">ghoulash@ghoulash.com</TEXTFORMAT>
<TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2">Hey look! This form actually works! Congratulations!</TEXTFORMAT>

That was the body. Because I just altered the $message variable to this:

$message = "Name: " . $_POST["name"] . "
" . "Email: " . $_POST["email"] . "
" . $_POST["body"];

Protecting SWF From Hotlinking Or Rehosting
I've made a game in flash that I want to upload onto my site but I don't want it to be able to get hotlinked to or hosted from/on another site.

What would be a good way to prevent this?

I first thought of getting a varible from a text file and using an IF function on load to check if that var was loaded but that would only prevent Hosting.

I then tried putting the var in the html code for the swf but that don't seem to work so well, when I refresh the page the movie randomly seems to play normally or goto my "this is stolen" screen.

Can anyone help or suggest something?

XML / Hotlinking Firefox Issue
Flash 8, Actionscript 2.0

I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, but I figured here would be alright.

I've got this image slideshow/scroller here, that grabs its data from a xml file on the server. nothing new, but the problem is that when i enable hotlinking protection with bluehost, firefox is unable to deal with the file. safari, opera, handle it fine.

when hotlinking protection is disabled, firefox handles it fine.

Why Does Wmode="transparent" Messup Tabbing Order
i setup everything in flash to tab right with the getFocus and the setFocus, and it works fine. but when i put in a HTML with a wmode="transparent" so that i can have the background transparent it messes it up. i tested it both with and without that variable in there and without it seems to fix it but i need them both. any help?
