NIKE.COM - HOW DID THEY DO THAT?
Hey everybody,
I was wondering if anybody had ideas on how nike.com did they video reflections?
Did they composite the video and reflection in After effects and export a flv, or did the do the reflection in flash with a mirror flv with a gradient mask?
With that said, are there advantages/ disadvantages of having a mirrored flv? Or is it treated like a duplicated symbol?
Can you do a video gradient mask in flash? I've done it with vector art, but I can't seem to get the flv to play in a gradient mask.
How Did Nike Do It
Coolsite:

My question is this, obviously they are using the fullscreen flash approach but they also have the browser scrollbars intact? How is this possible? I thought once you go fullscreen you cant have scrollbars.

Nike Skateboarding
Does anyone have an idea how Nike was able to get the links within a hotspot of the drag mask in main nav of their skateboarding site.

Nike Skateboarding
Hi,
I am trying to make a menu system similar to a simplified version of the nike skateboarding site.
http://www.nike.com/nikeskateboarding/v2/main.html
I have a menu button which sits to the side of the screen following the y-axis of the cursor and expands to fill the width of the movie on rollover.
I just need to workout how to stop the button from following the cursor when the cursor rolls over the button.
This is the code I am using, where 'follow' is an expanding menu button:
code:
mouse_y = _ymouse-50;
if (mouse_y<50) {
mouse_y=50;
}
if (mouse_y>350) {
mouse_y=350;
}
setProperty (_root.follow, _y, mouse_y+((getProperty(_root.follow,_y)-mouse_y)/2));
Any ideas?
Thanks
Nike.com Perspective
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had a guess how nike.com achieved the sliding pictures in perspective on the left and right of their homepage. I looked at the files and it looks like it's loading all of those thumbnails in as jpg's and swf's so I don't think they're doing any real 3d (like Sandy or Papervision), but at the same time, I know you can't free distort images like that in flash. Anyone have any clues on what they did?

Does anyone know how to do the masking effect
after the intro.
on http://www.nike.com/nikeskateboarding/

Animated Mask Like @ Nike.com
I am a newbie and made the mistake of showing my boss Nike's site. Now he want's me to do the same. All I need the mask to do is slide over hidden photos, not the full blown nav bar. I've managed to build a mask using the following code:
this.attachMovie ("Mask", "mcMask", this.getNextHighestDepth ());
mcImageOne.setMask (mcMask);
mcMask.startDrag (true);
...but the mask is all over the map, I can't figure out how to make it slide across.
This, of course, doesn't make the mask follow the mouse either. You still have to drag it.
Tanx in advance!
Nike Style Navigation
So I am trying to duplicate the way nike.com has their navigation, only simpler.
I have movieclips for buttons, that on release, play a mask slider, as well as revel a set of subnavigation for that button. I am having issues with each button reseting, when you click on another button. I have tried to unload, but that just dumps the clip entirely. Any suggestions?

Nike Jumpman - How The Heck....?
Does anyone know how this was done?
http://www.nike.com/jumpman23/m4/
It appears that the background and mid-ground elements are skewing / curving depending on position... an optical illusion or tricky script???
Any thoughts / suggestions on how to try this would be appreciated.
I'm trying to replicate this effect and a 1024X768 stage... any info / ref' links or... FLA's! would be helpful!!
Thanks one and all.
Flash Menu (nike)
I am trying to create a dropdown menu like the one on nike.com
www.nike.com
Is there any way to make that happen without having to use an invisible button for the onRollOver and onRollout?
Thanks.
Nike SogaTV Site
Hi Guys,
Have been looking around at different sites for various inspiration and came across Nike's sogaTV site.
http://nikefootball.nike.com/nikefootball/siteshell/index.jsp#,en,0;jogatv,,0,0,0,0
This is an FLV-hub comprising of a thumbnail list of some football vids loading into a central media display.
V.impressive design I think you'll agree!
But I'm interesetd to know how they achieve that double size effect?
i.e. below the media display there are a series of controls one of which affects the physical size of the display. How do you do that?
Also, the video-thumbnail list on the right side. Any thoughts?
I know the FLVs are streamed from an FMS, do you think the video thumbnails are generated on the fly also? How would they achieve this, gradually preload set cuts of each of the videos and playback through a videoholder MC? Anyone know how reliable that would be when being streamed?
Well, thought i'd point it out anyway,
If you have any thoughts, let me know :wink:
Nike's 'create Your Own Shoe' Flash App..
I am working on something that functions very similarly to the Nikeid.com create your own shoe flash app. Our programmer initially developed the menu but it was not complete before he left the company. I have managed to get it to do everything I need it to, but my question is what do I need to do, or where do i need to go (website or tutorial) in order to have my "review" section function properly? the emailing and displaying of choices selected...
any help would be greatly appreciated.
(id search for it, but i dont even know what its called in order to search)
