Html Link And Flash Link On Intro Page
I've noticed that a lot of Flash sites have some kind of detector to see if you have the flash plug in. Is that scripting?
Plus, I see that the intro page of ones site will have an HTML and a FLASH option to choose from to enter the site. Would that be enabled in the publish settings of Flash 5? I am curious to know how that is done because I am designing this young lady's site and she wants the viewers to have the options of HTML or Flash.

Hi, I'm new to this excellent tool. I have made an intro and I want to put some "slideshows" in .gif format in my intro as well.
My question is: How is that done ?

I have tried the Get URL thingy but it just redirects at the end of my intro. I want to create a link inside the .gif file and also link in some text - for direction when clicked on by the visitor.

Thankyou for reading this. i paid $250 to boxedart.com to modify one of their flash intros for me to start when people first typed in my web site address. At the end of the Intro they have put a ENTER button there. This is where people can press to enter my web site. it took me 6 months to work out everything about creating and publishing my web site but now i really can't wait to get this Flash Intro going with it.

hey im making an online comic for a college project and its got a flash intro.. ive done it before ages ago but cant remember for the life of me how to get the flash swf file to go to a htm file once its finished playing.. can anyone help this is pretty urgent!

Link In My Flash Intro Doesn't Work. Please Help

I have been having a headache over this. I'm trying to create a text link to a web site from my flash intro. I first typed in the domain name as the text, convert it to a button (symbol). Then changed the button up, over, down, and hit behavior. Then I put the code

on (release) {
getURL("http://www.onesourceexhibits.com","_blank");
}

When I select Control > Enable simple buttons from the menu bar and put my mouse over the text, it works. However, when I test the movie it doesn't. The text link just act like a normal text. I can't figure out how to fix this and my head is about to explode. Please help.

Hey all,
Still fairly new to the group, and I've got a few quick questions that I'm sure will seem easy to you. First, I have created a flash animation using a program called "SwishMax". What I need to know is how can I make this the intro to my website? What I mean by this is how can I make it so that the flash animation is the first thing shown, and then it links to the framedef? Also, how can I get my menu on the left side to be on the top or bottom?

Implementing Flash Intro Into HTML
I have a flash intro for my site, but i can't get it right in HTML....i use dreamweaver MX to make the site, but i can't get the movie to fill the screen....is there a way to make it fit the screen no matter what resolution the viewers of the page have set their screens to? i've tried to just keep it small but that means it never plays in the middle =(
Please help.....i want it to play full screen or in exact middle but i can't do it =(

Html + Flash Intro (floating?)
So I'm basically a noob w/Flash. I'm an established web developer tho. Anyway, my boss wants be to add an animated flash intro to his website. I protested long and hard but to no avail.

So I've created the animation in Flash (300x200px in size) and it plays fine.

What I'm trying to get it to do is when the page loads, the animation loads at the same time and the animation floats over the middle of the page. Once the animation finishes it closes and youre left with the website.

I know flash intros are bad form, but I just cant get my boss to see it my way. Its quite frustrating.

Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

I can't resolv this thing:
I have a flash intro with buttons, as an starting point to enter the site. The main page of the site it's a frameset with 3 frames (up/left/center).
I need this function: When someone open the site with the browser, the flash intro showsup, then if you push a button a new window should apear with the frameset, and the content of the button(.html page) should appear in the center frame. The only frame that it's update by clicking hte flash is the center frame.. all the others are the same for all buttons.

is there a way to do this ??

I am designing an html website with a flash intro that will play automatically when the viewer enters. I was wondering if there is a way for when this flash animation intro plays, the images within the rest of the html site will be loading up... So that way the website loads up fast. Flash Intro Over HTML Page - How To Remove When Complete?
I'm working on an HTML site built to specific pixel dimensions. The designer wants the site to open with a quick Flash intro that's the same size as the site, which fades away when done, revealing the HTML page underneath.

This shouldn't be any problem - just use absolute positioning and z-index to place the SWF on top of the HTML. However, won't it be impossible to click links on the home page with the Flash sitting on top of it (even after being faded via alpha tweened to 0)? The page will be covered by the SWF, and any clicks will apply to the SWF, not the underlying page.

Is there a practical way to have an SWF remove itself after it's done playing?

URGENT: Flash Navigation Embedded In Html That Link To Frameset Content In Html
Hi all,

I want to build a website that consists of a menu navigation (made in flash but embedded in a topframe in dreamweaver. On the left site, there would be some flash animations (images etc.)embedded in the leftframe and in the right/main frame, there would be either flash content or html content (depending on the content). The menu bar is made of 7 buttons; when you mouse over a button, you get a scrolling menu with different items, those buttons items have a rollover effect and when you click on one of this items it will load either a flash or html content in the right/mainframe of my dreamweaver site. My question is what is the best way to build this navigation bar so that when i click on one of this item, it will load the correct content in the right/main.frame.html. When this occurs, i want that the scrolling menu still displays while the content is loading so that when the visitor have seen the content, he just needs to click to another item to load the content (so no ectra step). Please help me with this as it urges.

Flash Intro To HTML Frameset; Controlling What Loads Into The Mainframe
There's gotta be a way to do this!!!!

I have a flash intro, which ends with four button's that will link to another HTML page: "mainframeset.html". In the "mainframeset.html" there are two frames, one on the left which contains a flash navigation .swf and the frame on the right which contains the content.

The problem is that when the user clicks on one of the four buttons at the end of the intro, it takes them to the "mainframeset.html" and the navigation .swf loads on the left but the html page that goes with what they clicked on at the end of the movie doesn't load into the right frame. I am clueless as to the coding needed to target a frames page AND then target what loads into each frame from a flash "on release" command.

Does this make sense? Can anyone help?

Intro Movie...dead Link
Hi all. I was using flash until 3 yrs ago and haven't touched it since. I have flash 5, but I'm trying out mx right now. My problem is, I made an intro movie for my website, that doesnt exist anymore. At the end of the movie, it loads the old webpage
(which is a user page of cox.net) I would like to reuse this movie for my new site, but I dont know how to edit the link. I know its something simple, but for the life of me I cant remember how?!
