Scroll Images And Dynamic Text
So I'm using Flash MX now and what I'd like to be able to do is have an image with text that wraps around it scroll. Imagine if you will a "frame" type element in the middle of my flash movie which acts just like an html window. The other problem is that the text is dynamic, so I can't have a seperate entity to scroll (I guess I really could, but it would be too high maintence.) the site is www.hmcc.net . If you click on one of the main nav bar pages, you'll see the text boxes as it currently is, but I would like to be able to put an image in there. Thanks all!
Dynamic Images+text With Scroll

Ok, I just got hired and I was immediatelly presented with a problem (of course!)
They want here to have dynamic flash contents that can be scrolled, both text and images, so that work can be streamlined (it will have to be translated to a couple of dozen of languages!)
The problem is that we couldnt use HTML inside flash because they want to have their own specialized scroll buttons for it and no scrollbars.
I have an idea and I wanted to ask what you guys think, and, hopefully get some input out of it, or at least some other way to do it.
Basically, what I imagined was to have both the dynamic images (movieclips) and the dynamic text inside a movieclip that would be scrolled by an external 'scroll' (2 buttons).
Ok, sounds simple
BUT
they have variable length text. When the text is short, the scroll controls wont appear. For that, Im considering using a getProperty to figure out the content movie's height. if it is x or more, the scroll will be invisible. Obviously I dont even know if it would work as i want to
what you guys think? Should that work? or are there other easier ways of having both images and txt (both dynamic) with a scroll that shows up only when necessary?

Scroll Bar Show Up If Needed And Only Scroll To Dynamic Text Input Bottom... HOW
I have attached a copy of my scroll bar that i am currently using how can i make the scroll bar not show up unless needed (really not all that important but would be nice.)
The important thing is that i can setup a dynamic text box inside my item_holder movie clip but my scroller always scrolls to the bottom of the scroll box not matter if inside my scroll box i have on line of text loaded dynamicly or i have 100. So if i have 1 line of text and a large dynamic text box the scroll bar will scroll to the bottom of the scroll box even though it only has one line. See attachment and see if anyone can help. Can I scroll both at the same time? An external text file with html tags plus an image (either connected to the text file via img or added in some other way)?

HELP: Scroll Text And Images On Background Image

Hi there,
I'm a complete newbie to Flash MX, but learning fast...
I've been seraching through previous posts - but I haven't been able to find and answer.
I wish to be able to scroll text and images within a scrollpane box on top of the main background image/jpg of the movie and have the scrollpane box transparent. I've tried it with text and a scrollbar and it works good (see example). It seems that when you make the MC with the text and images you want to display, it retains the white background when you view it.
I've attached a little example test url to show what I'm talking about, it shows both the scrollpane (on the Left) that is not transparent with the background and the scrollbar on the right that is.... This is the effect that I'm trying to accomplish. I also have a shadow and a semi-transperent box on which I placed the scroll boxes, might be a bit hard to see with the backgound pic on this example.
If their is an entirely different way to get the same effect, I would like if you would share it.

Making Text And Images Scroll With The UIScrollBar

I am new to flash. I want to make a page scroll. The page has a few images and several dynamic text fields that are seperate. I'd like to make the entire page scroll.
So far the only way i've manged to make anything scroll is to have a single text field and add the component UIScroll bar to it. That works, but it only scrolls the text that is within that single text field. Is there a way to add other stuff to this text field so that it will also scroll, like graphics or other movies or even other dynamic text fields? I just need to find a way to make the entire page scroll...Thanks for any advice.

I am in need of help! I am using Macromedia Flash MX 2004 pro, and trying to create on online portfolio for my work.

I'm producing a CD ROM presentation, and have a section where the user can browse a series of images. I don't knwo how to create this, but know what I want.
Does anyone know of a movie / tutorial that scrolls a series of images horizontally (left/right) in continuous loop, and when an image is clicked it expands to a larger version (and then reduces again on another click)?

Scroll Images
Okay, here is the story so far, after guidance and mixed tutorials I have put together a movie which imports the images from seperate keyframes in a movie clip.
As planned each individual image is duplicated into a _mc and has the ability to be dragged and dropped onto a canvas mc and is thus removed from an array where it sits. On dropping off the canvas it is placed back into the array.
I now want the images to scroll as in the kirupa thumbnail tutorial. I have got so far as to rollin over a button and they all move but disappear into oblivion? Plus its jittery and I noticed i could use tweens to make it smooooove. Please would anyone guide me into getting these images to scroll, ideally on rolling over the images themselves like the kirupa tutorial. Pretty please

I would like to create an animation similar to below in the link... Where there is a series of 4 images with a scroll left / scroll right option where people can scroll through more images... as they press the button... the images slide away and new ones come in...

Im really not so new to flash, but to ActionScripts I am.
I have two arrows at each end of the movie that controlls a slide image..

Scroll Panes And Images
I'm working with the Scrollpane component in Studio MX. My current project is to make a photo gallery. CUrrently I have it working, but I'd like to make one change to it. The way the gallery works is: 1) a user selects from a combo box one of the galleries to view. 2) The user is given a list of all of the images for that gallery. 3) When the user clicks on a title from the list box, the image gets loaded into a scroll pane. It works perfectly.
What I'd like to do is set the image so that it's always smaller than the scrollpane itself, esentially resizing it on loadup. I know I could do this with PHP, but I'd rather not for now, and this is a site I'm making for a somewhat non-literate user. Can you resize the content itself on load? Or rather, how would you resize the content on load (I know it can be done because their is a photogallery that works sorta like what I wanted on flashcomponents.net... I just wanted to write my own for this).

I have been trying to get a mouse scroller tutorial that I can understand. I have tried 4, but they have been somewhat sketchy at best. I am a designer and I get the drawing aspect of Flash, but I'm not getting it on the code. Do any of you pro's out there have a simple tutorial or .fla that I can dissect. This will be the final touch on my site and it would be really sweet if I could figure this thing out.

Scroll Images On Mouiseover
Can anyone help me out on how this is done. The effect I want is at

link. There is a page with two arrows that control a movieclip when the
mouse is over the arrows. You can then click on the image to have it appear
in a new browser window. What's the easiest or best way to get the mouseover

Template For Scroll And Images?
Winter, perhaps others can use this template. Your last posted flash works, I was able to get it to work with my Flash movie, which uses Scenes instead of frames. My subsequent attempt (posted here) wasn't successful.
I saw that your script referenced frame numbers in frames, but when I tried that, I got strange results. I don't know why but everytime I clicked on a button, even though I told it to go to scene "flows", "fframe". It would just go to frame 1 of the current scene.
When I made it back into scenes it worked. (though not as elegant as your last post)
Then I said to myself. "'Self,' What if someone else out there could benefit from this awesomely ill script." So I removed everything else in the movie and I ran it again. It didn't work.
I am posting it here, perhaps if you are feeling altruistic, you can tell me where I went wrong. I am just so grateful it's working in my main movie. My edits to this are done.

HI, I have notice when you create a scroll box the text has to be dynamic and not static which means all of the text properties remain the same when you try to alter them. Is there a way to use different fonts, sizes, etc in a scroll box field. I would like to learn how to incorperate graphics in this scrollable field. Help !!!!
