Image Moves When Mouse Moves?
Hi,

I'm trying to work on a code so when the mouse moves left or right, the background image on a flash movie or multiple images will scroll the opposite way. However, Ive never coded anything regarding mouse movement (that I can remember) because I'm not too fluent in using mouse listeners. Id appreciate if someone could whip up a code like this that I can learn from.

Pixel movement rate (speed) and direction control would be really nice here. Its an easy code I'm sure, I just dont know how mouse listeners work (if this is what you have to use).

How to make an object moves away from your mouse in the direction indicated by your mouse? I cannot seem to be able to post my .fla hence here is the program in s notepad format.

I am only able to make the ball drop to the bottom of the screen because of the gravity and the ball will bounce back up. The ball can be click by the mouse to anywhere in the screen and once u release, the ball should move away from the mouse in the direction that you had swing it.(<--this is the part that i cannot make it happen)

Make Windmill Blades Moves Faster When Mouse Over - Please Help?
Hi there everyone,

I am trying to make a flash banner for a new climate change site in London. I am fairly new to flash but would like place some windmills i have drawn on the banner. I have managed to make a button, and placed movies into the up, over and down sections. The movies work, so that when the mouse goes over the mill, the blades move backwards or faster but from the start of that movie.

Its a success in a way but not ideal, as its too jerky. Is there anyway, so that when i move the mouse over the windmill, the blades (no matter which frame of their movie they are in) just move exponentially faster. I think it would create a really nice effect for the banner.

Please help, all suggestions most appreciated.

I have an arrow that is a movie clip instance and it rotates with my mouse movement. Its all cool up to here but i want this event to take place when my mouse comes over the clip (or a rectangular area which bounds the arrow) not all over the stage. Creating A Background Scrolling Image Which Moves With Menu Buttons
I'm having a bit of a head scratcher here. I'm trying to create something similar to http://www.barneys.com where the user clicks on a menu button and the background image will scroll to the corresponding portion of the image. I'm currently opening the menu contents as layered movies above the background, but I can't make the image slide to the appropriate section, only jump right to the spot by loading the frame of the main timeline which is using a motion tween (the only way I could make it work, but not the way I want to nonetheless.) Can anyone point me to a tutorial or point out some actionscript I should use for this? I'm using MX, relatively green to actionscripting. Thanks.

I'm having problems trying to figure out how to come up with a solution to this dilemma so any help would be more than greatful!

IN A NUT SHELL

I want to make an image (one that is larger than the actual stage itself) to follow and move into the direction to the direction that the mouse is moved to. So when the mouse is moved 65 degrees, the image should move 65 degrees etc etc.

How Do I Create A Movieclip To Play If Mouse Is Unactive, And Stops When Mouse Moves?
I am in the process of creting a world map navigation for a global ite portal.

In the map a user can hover over different continents to zoom in on specific countries then click on that country's to goto its specific website.

However I think the world map looks a little un-user friendly so was looking at playing a quick tutorial movie (a mouse cursor, moving over a continent and highlighting it) when the mouse is not being moved, then stops when the user moves the mouse.

This feature a little reminisant of when sonic the hedgehog used to tap his foot if you didnt use your joypad for a while.

I would also like to start the movie (after he preloader ive used) with the tutorial playing, so the user can understand the way it works straight away.

I am a novice at action scripting, so all help would be appreciated!

Question 1 how do I flip an image, in the Graphic interface of flash pro 8, you can go to modify - transform, and flip it CCW + 90, CW + 90, or flip it horizontally or vertically, how can I do this in actionscript? my animation's name is "man"

Main Question

How do I write a formula to adjust my guys head so when he goes "left" or right, his head is thinner, (like your looking on him sideways)

and when he goes up/down, to be bigger so basically

when he's going up and down his head width is about 20-30, and when he's going left/right, its about 5-10

I've been trying for about 1 and a half hours, with no success

alright here's the request:

I have found many scroller tutes most of which use buttons to control them. What I need or think I need is a tute or file to refer to, that uses a mouseover effect to move the movieclip with respect to how much the mouse has moved and still uses easing.

I have found files that make the movieclip move according to the mouse position on the stage, but i need it to move in according to how far it just moved.

em... well what I mean is this:

I can make a button... put it onto scene one and assign it mouse over and mouse out actions...

But the thing is... if you move the mouse really fast... you can miss the mouse out action... and leave the button in a state of mouse over.

I've seen it in plenty of places... where they've got some kind of 'thing'! that makes the state of a button change when mouse is out... regardless of how fast you move the mouse over.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about!?

Basically the mc is a button and the buttons are icons and they all don't have an actual site name associated with them, so I want text to show so the viewer knows what they are clicking.

MC In A Btn To Keep Playing When Mouse Moves Over It?
Ok very simple scenario here!

All ive done is put a movieclip into a button in the over state so of course when the user moves their mouse cursor onto the title (this is what the flash is for) it starts playing.

Only problem is when they move their cursor off of the title the movie clip stops playing

All i want to do is have it play in its entirety even if the user no longer has their cursor on the actual title

I am new to flash so i guess its a bit of an obvious question but any help appreciated muchly

I need the keys on the home page of this web site www.locksmithmusic.com to make a jingling noise whenever the user moves the mouse/keys. I'm guessing that it uses the onMouseMove command, but I don't know how to apply it -- or even if that's the right command to use. Any help?

what i want is when the mouse over occurs on the fly movie clip(or whatever) the fly sets a course for a random place within the overall movie and moves towards it, where it waits until another mouse over occurs.

Hello all,I really need to crack this project of mine.
1: What i need is for a movie clip to play when the mouse is moved over it. There will be multiple clips that detect this mouse over and play.

2: Also i need one clip that will start as soon as the mouse moves and follows it with easing/elasticity only in x and not y axis and stops when mouse movement stops. This would be a mask revealing an image behind.

Hopefully this is clear.
Any help on either of these or both would be very much appreciated.

MC Moves Away As Mouse Gets Close Help
I suppose the help in the subject is an understatement.

What I'm looking to do is have a MC on the stage. As the mouse gets close to it, it moves away - idealy in the opposite direction. Eventually it would hit a limit and bounce back to it's original position. Kinda like the way 2 magnets would repel each other.

I've seen this effect before on other sites (none of which I can find currently )…

I realize that it's just going to be some trig/algebra and the tracking of the x/y of the mouse. Perhaps an onEnterFrame action on the MC.

I can figure out the distance the mouse is from the MC (the square root of ((x2 - x1) * (x2 - x1) + (y2 - y1) * (y2 - y1)) ) - but then then dealing with angles and stuff starts to hurt my brain.

I went to art school… can anyone help? (Or if you can point me to a tutorial or something… I searched, but I couldn't find anything that didn't involve FOLLOWING the mouse.)

i can get a movieclip jumping from its position to match the mouses coordinates when the mouse is clicked.

but how would i go about making the movie clip move towards the mousedown coordinates at a speed which i can state in the actionscript?

To Experts: CPU Goes Way Up When Mouse Moves? Weird
Hey guys,

I am making a game and I've noticed when the mouse isn't moving, the game runs fast and cpu utilization less than 3%. When I move my mouse the game lags a bit and the cpu utilization goes between 30-48%

I then tried a test. I opened a brand new flash doucment. I didn't add anything to the stage and added no code. I ran it and moved my mouse around rapidly. The cpu utilization went over 30% again.

Flash must be processing something to do with your mouse whenever it moves. Any idea why it does this? and if there is anything that can be done to stop it?

PHOTO Under Mask Moves W/mouse?
I want to be able to load a jpeg into an MC and make the image in the MC slide around under a mask as you move the mouse.

I placed a graphic into a moive clip. And i place the movieclip from the library onto the main scene. I'll like the moive clip to do the following:

then moiveclip moves ?pixels to the right.

then moiveclip moves ???pixels th the bottom.

i'll like the moive clip to move the same amount of pixels as the mousepointer but in an oppsite direction.

Can someone help me figure out how i should go about typing a script like that?
