Make Train Appear To Be Moving In Photo
Ok, I'm working on a intro to a band's webpage. The band went on a photo shoot and shot a pict infront of a moving train. I am trying to come up with an idea to make it look as though the train is moving in the background. I have tried a few methods but I can't come up with anything very good. First I tried using a translucent boxes that traveled along the train and gradually got bigger as the train did because of perspective. It looks ok but overall just doesn't cut it. Then I tried just using a motion blur on a the train and having it flip back an forth between that and that original (this one sucked as I expected.) For both of these I put the cut outs of the band on top to make it look as if everything was behind them. Any of you guys have some brilliant ideas to make it appear as if the train is moving??

Is It Possible To Make This Photo Of Water Appear Moving?
i would like to give this photo some movement...like water rippling or something very subtle...do you have any ideas?

I like how the menu scrolls the photos -- so if you click on "lifestyle", then click on one of the sub buttons such as "the park" it scrolls the photo over. Then if you click on a button farther down such as "nightlife", it scrolls through all the in-between photos until it gets to the "nightlife" photo. Is this done through ActionScripting? I'm not sure how to achieve the effect. Are there any tutorials that have similar effects?

Moving All Content To Make Room For Menu At The Top?
Hi everyone.

Flash beginner here with a stupid question.

Now that I have created this nice long Flash movie I want to add a menu bar to the top of the movie *above* the existing content. I've tried changing the size of the movie which adds the space to the bottom, not the top =(

Then I've tried selecting all the frames on the timeline and moving everything down on the stage. This only seems to move whatever frame is being displayed.

I've tried selecting all items on the stage itself and moving them down. This seems to only move the items on that frame as well.

I've also tried creating a new folder and moving everything into that one folder and then moving the contents of the folder down. This doesn't work either.

Seems like there would be an easy way to move all of the elements of a movie at the same time throughout the timeline. It would REALLY suck if I had to go frame by frame, select everything, and move it down. On a 1300 frame movie this would take a few hours of work.

Can anyone tell me how to move all this stuff to make room for a menu at the top of my movie?

How To Make The Scrolling Menu Effect?
A few years ago the scrolling menu effect [I don't know exactly what it's called] was everywhere on flash sites and I'd like to incorporate one into a new site. Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial, or walkthrough?

How To Make A Scrolling Menu Plzkthks
What I want is to have a horizontal menu with all my updates from right to left newest to oldest and have the first say 4 on the screen (or under the mask...?) and when you move to the right it moves right slowly and left does the same but the middle doesn`t move either way (you gotta be like 20px from the end to make it scroll I mean) and suggestions? like this one but this one doesn`t work so hot for me

First off all, I thank you all to read my first thread in this website and also thanks Kirupa to give me chance to learn from you all masters.

As I am designing a website in which I am stuck where there is a flash script required. I am looking for a script which makes a small 5 to 6 Image scrolling photo gallery.

My problem is I don’t want flat gallery I am looking for a gallery which shows the perspective image coming from a deeper wall (e.g. image attached). In this Image below asume gray is a piller and the image have to scroll from the deep part of the piller in perspective.

Hope you guys and gals can help me.. I'm really stuck here.

Photo With Moving Scroll Bar
I saw this on a tutorial site (didn't bookmark it) and now I can't find it again. What I would like to do is have a black and white photo as the background. Then have a color photo that is only visiable in color where the scroll bar is. The bar will just move left to right over the photo. If anybody has seen a tutorial like this could you please provide me a link.

Moving Menu And Not (yet) Moving Arrows

The title I guess say it all, huh?

But just to be sure.

I have a main menu wich goes right or left. Depends what categorie you choose. When it goes left I have to load a arrow movie wich goes left and for right has to load a moviw arrow which goes right (and not wrong). Thats means that there are two movies: arow left movie and arrow right movie. And both have to react at the moving menu, which were to load and play.
So first level would be the menu which ships from right to left.
Second level (under the menu) one of the arrow movie has to load depending which direction the movie goes.

(now Im confused. What was there I wanted??? A, right!)

I figured out that maybe its more confortable to load it from the library but also if it can be loaded from external files I dont mind. (I did the container thing before so I understand it a bit.

The arrow movies are movies played in the background, as the menu remains on top all the time.

The script for animating the menu is:

Hello again. I've a question..
I've created a rectangle within which i want to place and scroll my photo thumbnails. I don't want to use the scrollpane component...is there any other way to scroll 'em? (i guess it needs not the same commands as in text scrolling......)

I have an object, that when i try to mvoe the ground and it is in the corner it will glitchout, no matter what i do i cannot avoid this from happening. Is there away to scroll the world without actually moving the ground?

Scrolling Photo BG Linked To Nav
Hello. I would like to build a nav bar with 5 buttons correspoding to 5 backgrounds, that when clicked scroll the old background out the left and the new one simultaniously in from the right.

I was trying it with load and unload movie, but that doesn't seem to work well. Each movie has a stop function in the middle and I don't know how to make it continue playing when the nav button is pressed before it unloads, while loading a new movie at the same time.

Any pointers would be much appreciated!

It is a vertical scrolling photo presentation with 7 simply animated photos one next to the other. When the last one(7) is shown the first(1)loads again after(7) and then the second, etc...
How is this done..?

Scrolling Photo Album
I want to make a photo album that takes about 3 photos form the album, displays them in a line, with the middle one slightly larger then the side ones. then as you move your mouse in one direction, the photos scroll along, the photo in the middle gets a bit bigger when it is in the middle. ie its like the mac osx dockbar, except, u wont see all the photos straight away, you have to move your mouse to the right to make photos scroll along from right to left etc.

I hope someone can help me with this as I have tried for weeks and cannot seem to get it to work. (new to flash and actionscript).

What i would like to do is have a dynamic scrolling photo bar (scrolling horizontally). I would like the photos to be thumbnails, but when you click on any photo i want it to display a larger version of the photo with a short description below.

I have managed to get the scrolling bit working with some tutorials i found, but it is not dynamic and can't get it to display a larger version of the image.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction or give me some help!

Hi there! I'm tredding my feet into Flash (beginner) and would be grateful if you could help me out here

1) How do you create a scrolling photo gallery (e.g. www.corbis.com) that also enables a user to fastforward and reverse the picture sequence when a user clicks and drag the mouse in the movie? Movement will pause upon mouseEnter.

2) How do you create a sequence of alternating or ramdom images fading in and out (from a fixed position)? I would like Flash to retreive pictures from a folder of images or database and display it randomly using a fadein/out effect.

Scrolling Photo Gallery
Hi everyone. This is hopefully a simple question for you. I have a simple horizontal scrolling image gallery which I downloaded. I am trying to modify it to allow me to add additional thumbnails (there are currently 7, I want there to be 24). But for some reason flash is not willing to move any further than the 7th thumbnail. It stops there, and thats that.

I am having some problems with the file I created in the tutorial on this site. It is the photo gallery with the scrolling thumbnails. It was very basic and easy to create, however, I have embedded that swf into another, and the scrolling no longer functions. Hi, someone once gave me the codes for a simple photo slider but I didn't like it at first and now I cannot find it. It is similar to this one at Sonshi.com, but more elementary. Site accessibility is an issue and I was wondering whether I could use one without slowing down the downloading time of my homepage by too much.

Scrolling / Moving Mc With Limitations
I have a movie clip, with a textbox in it.
The textbox contains text (doh) with some of the words marked in a different color. These words have an invisible button ontop, which uses netTrek ToolTip to display an explanation of the word.

Now, my problem is, when i want to scroll this mc.
It must be scrolled by two buttons (up & down) with NO scrollbar.
I currently have this AS on the button that controls the downscroll:

This works okay,
- but how can i limit the scroll function to not move further than a particular _y value (or something)???

Or is there a better way of doing this?
