Centering Website In Browser
This is probably something simple that I just can't find....
How to I make my website (published as html, swf and gif) center itself in a the browser window?
Publish HTML settings are:
Width and height are the same as my swf
HTML alignment = default
scale = default - show all
Flash alignment = center, center
and yet it loads it in the top left corner of the browser....
Thanks (again)

Centering Of Website In Browser
I have created my website using flash and then edited the html code in dreamweaver so that the page is centred in the browser but when I have uploaded the website using Fetch the site is ranged left.
Have I done anything wrong reguarding the format when uploading (I had to choose from one of the following - text, raw data, macbinary II, Binhex, AppleSingle. I just left iton automatic. Or has it got something to do with the pop up graphic that appears from the host?
Thanks,
Sharon

Centering A Flash Website In Browser...
Hi,
How can I get my Flash website to stay vertically and horizontally centered in a visiter's browser?
I'd like the movie to stay centered, at 100% size, no matter how the user resizes their browser window (unless they make the window smaller than my movie).
Thank you,
-Todd

Question About Hybrid HTML/ Flash Website
I currently have a website that's pure HTML, and I'd like to replace the simple navigation bar with a Flash counterpart. Why? Because I want to make a navigation bar with animations. My question is this, if the rest of my site is HTML while the navigation bar is Flash, what will happen when a user clicks on a navigation bar button, that animation starts to play, but then the user is taken to another page? I take it the Flash nav bar will be interupted, right? Is there a way to make the nav bar persistant throughout all my pages, so that when the user clicks on the various buttons, the nav bar doesn't reload, and the animations are nice and smooth.
Here's my site: www.leogura.com
Please keep in mind, I don't want to recreate a fully Flash site. I just want to add Flash elements. Thanks.
Hybrid Website Navigation And Flash Vars
hi, i've got a noob question pertaining to hybrid websites (flash and html).
if you are building a flash navigation system (nav buttons, breadcrumb, etc.) which loads different html pages how do you build in an indicator in the flash to indicate what page you're on?
meaning, you can't pass variables because the movie will be reloaded when a new html page (containing the flash movie) loads and any variables will be gone correct?
Is Flashvars a solution for this? can you use it to pass a variable to your flash movie and make decisions in flash based on that variable?
any input, advice is appreciated.
Flash/html Hybrid Website With Shopping Cart
I was wondering if creating an all flash site with the exception of 1 frame where text content and shopping cart goes is a better solution then creating an all flash website but when the user wants to shop a pop up html shopping cart comes up.
Full Flash Website Vs. Hybrid HTML/Flash?
Im looking to building a website. Anyone have any suggestions which route to take whether a full Flash site or a hybrid HTML/Flash site? Im leaning towards a hybrid site cause I believe it will be easier for me to get it up and running quicker cause of my low level Flash skill level.

Centering My Website
Hi,
Just a quick question! When publishing a website, how do you make it so that everything appears in the middle of the browser window and stays there when you resize it? Also, when I do resize my web window, everything scales up and down, is there any way of keeping things the same size??
Thanks!

Centering Website
Hi guys!
How do I centre the html page of my flash website? Thanks in advance.
Centering Website On Page
I don't know if this is stupid, but I designed a site and have a problem getting the site to center on a bigger resolution moniter, I set the site up in 800x600(well 1200) but when you view on tighter resolution it goes to the left. I have had a little sucess with setting the dimensions to percent and making them 100 width and 175 height but on most computers except for my pc and mac. it displays smaller in the center instead of fitting the frame. Can anyine help or did I just confuse everyone.
So is there a better way to center the movie?
I saw something. the flashkit website does what I want to do. when you change the resolution it follows so you don't have the bar along the bottom. How was this done?
Centering A Flash Website
how do I ensure that my flash website always appears in the centre of a browser?
is it possible to make this happen in flash or do I need to edit the html?

Help With Scaling And Centering Entire Website's Window
I really need some specific and direct help with being able to scale and center the window that holds my website, as a whole.
There is one perfect example, @ http://flashtracking.com/calvin/default.asp?aid=
which creates a window that pops up that is centered and in the very middle of the computer screen.
If there is a tutorial or specific directions in helping with this, I'd really appreciate it...as I am a beginner with all of this within Flash and using ActionScript.
If anyone can help with applying the sound and the sound bar/selection buttons on the referred site, that would be wonderful as well. Thanks so much.
Thanks so very much!

Centering Swf In Browser
I built a page that is 800 pixels wide and it aligned to the left all the time in my browser window. I changed the width to 1000 pixels and for 2 days it aligned in the center, but now it again is aligning to the left in the browser. How do you get the swf to always align centered in the browser?

Centering In Browser. Again. And Again.
There are many answers to this age-old (well, 10th anniversary of the W3C) dilema of centering flash content in browsers.
I still use the old one of the frameset where you hide the lower frame and also get rid of the vertical scrollbar.
Recently, I started using what I believed to be very good XHTML (I even copied it out of a book by a well known AS author). I put it all over the place, proudly confident of it being "bulletproof". I even had someone with a Mac test it.
Pretty thorough in my little world. But then . . . my evil daughter (not really, but why take the blame, I'll simply point) told me: "gee dad, my site pulls up way in the corner and I only see the bottom of it."
PANIC!!!!
So my perfect little world was shattered. All this to say I searched high and low and came accross what looks like nice code and it's from the W3C!
That means it should be great!!! (same thinking as when I saw the XHTML code)
But now I thought I'd be a little smarter and run it by the smartest people I know (that's you guys). So is there any reason this is no good (I ran it through a validator, it did not like any flash stuff at all):
Code:
<!doctype html public '-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN'
'http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd'>
<title>Big Cheese Miami</title>
<style type="text/css">
/* Just some nice colors */
body {background: #FFFFFF}
/* Vertical centering: make div as large as viewport and use table layout */
div.container {top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;
position: fixed; display: table}
p {display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle}
/* Horizontal centering of image: set left & right margins to 'auto' */
img.displayed {display: block; margin: 1em auto}
/* Also center the lines in the paragraph */
p {text-align: center}
</style>
<div class=container>

Centering Swf In Browser
hey all,
I found this post to help center a swf in html, http://www.actionscripts.org/forums/...d.php3?t=70811
Users seem really happy with it. I would like to modify it a bit. I want to horizontally align the content. Also, I want there to be no gap between the top of the brower and where the content starts.
here is the code i am using:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1">
<title>Test</title>
<meta name="description" content="Test">
<style type="text/css">
html {
height:100%; /* fix height to 100% for IE */
max-height: 99%; /* fix height for other browsers */
padding: 0; /*remove padding */
margin: 0; /* remove margins */
border: 0; /* remove borders */
background: #ff0000 /*color background - only works in IE */
body {
height: 100%; /* fix height to 100% for IE */
max-height: 99%; /* fix height for other browsers */
padding: 0; /*remove padding */
margin: 0; /* remove margins */
border: 0; /* remove borders */
}
/*
table {
height: 100%;
width: 100%;
text-align: center;
}
*/
</style>
</head>
<body bgcolor="#ff0000" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scroll="no">
<object classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="100%" height="100%">

<param name="quality" value="high">
<param name="menu" value="false">

Does anyone have any suggestions for removing the gap on the top, and for getting the scroll bar to work?
Thanks in advance.

Centering SWF In Browser
Hello,
I'm trying to center an swf in a browser without using table width and height 100% and the most promising way i've found so far is to set

Centering SWF In Browser
Hello,
I'm trying to center an swf in a browser without using table width and height 100% and the most promising way i've found so far is to set
Stage.scaleMode = "noscale";
in the first frame and then set the width and height of the object tag in the html to 100%. However, i'm having trouble getting this to work with the doctype in some newer browsers. What am I doing wrong?

Centering Html Doc Within Browser?
Can someone point me in the right direction---
I'm not sure how to address this situation?
My site is comprised of 3 swf's placed on top of one another and at the center of a html table (itself centered within the html doc) and on either side of the table are margin gif's.
:::example:::
When the site opens at a resolution larger than 600 x 800 I'm ok with how the site sets up within the browser. However, at 600 x 800, it opens offset within the browser. This situation seems to be occuring because the margin gif's have increesed the size of the html table to a point
that at this rezolution the page will not center within the browser.
Anybody no of any JavaScripts that will align the center of a html doc with the center of the browser window?
Or, is my best bet to set up a redirect page that will send viewers to
a version best suited to their screen resolution?
Thoughts?

Resizing, Browser, Centering
Please look at:
http://www.dunwoodie-architectureanddesign.co.uk/
How do they position the movie clip in the centre, have full browser flash and have it centred when you resize the browser, with out scaling the actual movie clip, if you see what I mean?
Don’t even get me started on the animation upon the browser window resizing.
Cheers!
[F8] Code For Browser Centering
I have an entrance page designed in DWMX which has a pop-up containing my flash site. when it loads, it loads in the default left-hand corner of the monitor. I have seen where others using this method of controling the size of browser windows will have their pop-ups appear in the center. Is this HTML code in Dreamweaver or is this a Flash thing, and how do I get this to work?
Thanks a bunch!
[CS3] Help Centering Swf Vertically In Browser
I have a swf file that is 1015 x 600 pixels. It looks beautiful at 1024 x 768 but at 1280 x 1024 it floats. Is there a way that I can use HTML of JavaScript to center the swf vertically?

Vertical Centering In Browser
Here is my problem: I want my flash stage background (only) to be maximized in browser's window. Or/and, I want my flash stage to be seen verticaly centred in browser no metter the dimensions of the stage. I would be grateful to have responses for both problems...
I know this is an action script work, but I don't know exactly how to do it and this is doing my head in for a while...
I must mention that I need the action script for a FLASH project only.. i mean i work at a flash project. I do not need the action script for HTLM projects. Thanks...
Can anybody help me with this?
Centering The Stage In A Web Browser
Hey,
I have a really wide flash page, but the main portion of it is in the center
of the .swf. My question is how do I make the center of my .swf in the center
of a web browser so that when the user resizes the browser, the center of the stage stays in the center of the browser? Right now it has the left side of the .swf aligned with the
left edge of the browser so the center of my .swf is usually being cut off by
the right edge of the browser and users have to scroll to the right to see the
main portion of the site...I'm sorry if that's somewhat confusing, but any help
at all would be appreciated. Thanks!

Centering Movie In Browser?
I know this has been asked hundreds of times, but I am still not having luck with centering my movie.
The thing is my movie is perfectly placed when I open my website on my Mac (both in Safari and IE). BUT, on a Windows machine, the movie appears in the top left corner. I am posting my index.html file where I'm embedding the swf. Maybe there's something I'm missing:

Centering Flash Site In Browser

Browser Window Size And Centering
I know I saw this somewhere before... I want to open my flash site in a 700x500 window. So, I used "open browser window" but Netscape and IE don't open windows specifically that size, there is extra space. Safari seems O.K. I also would like the window to center on the screen. Not sure if that is possible. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.
Centering Content In Browser Window
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to build a flash site where the content sits centrally in the browser window, so whatever screen size the viewer has, or however they resize their browser window the content sits centrally.
This code works in part...
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
// Create an object to receive the screen events
stageListener = new Object();
// Assign a listener for the Stage object
Stage.addListener(stageListener);
// Create a function for the event you want to listen for
stageListener.onResize = function() {
// Get the width and height of the stage
// & multiply by half
var stageXCenter = Stage.width*.5;
var stageYCenter = Stage.height*.5;
// place the clip
_root.main_movie._x = stageXCenter;
_root.main_movie._y = stageYCenter;
};
This code works perfectly, but only once the user has changed the size of their window. When the page first loads it is positioned top left, as soon as the browser window is dragged the code kicks in and positions the movie properly. Can anyone suggest a change that will pick up the size of the browser window and position the content when the page first loads???
Thanks for you help.
Centering A Flash Movie In The Browser
Hi - can anyone tell me how I can set a flash movie to display in absolute centre in a web browser? I need to centre one both horizontally and vertically.
I have managed to centre one horizontally in dreamweaver, by using the centre paragraph button, but am unable to set it to complete centre on screen.
Any ideas?
Resizing Browser Window / Centering ?
So it's been a while and I can't for the life of me remember how to resize flash browser windows, or even center it. Basically I'm looking to resize my site to open at "X" and have it centered at "X", doesn't seem hard but can't figure it out. Is it javascript? Publishing prefrences? Anybody?

Centering Flash Content In Browser
Hi there, I am trying to center the flash content i created in a browser, usually what i do is after publishing the fla file in html, I would edit the html file and add some lines to center the content in the browser. I learned this from a book.
Now however i published the HTML file in flash HTTPS template that detects whether you have the correct version of flash player and when i tried to edit the HTML file, i realised that the way the HTML code is written is very different (much more complicated) compared to a HTML file published without flash player detection, and I tried playing around to c if I was able to center the content with the method I learned from the book but I couldn't get the browser to center the content. Can anyone help me on this......
Any help would be greatly appreciated! THank you!
Regards,
Wen
