Flash :: I Cant Get Flashtyper To Work....please Help

Ok... I made my text and downloaded, but from reading the tutorial i can not figure out how to open in flash so that i can incorportate in a flash movie.
How do i do it>>???

When i click import fram markers come up but no image and no keyframes, the only thing that appears is like the frames outlined in black

i post my help in flashtyper forum but doesn't seem to have any reply maybe i should try here instead.
i did everything the tutor show how to import swf into my flash, i don't have a movie, just trying to test the flashtyper, but when i test the movie just for swf file that i download, i have and error that say.

Scene=Scene 1, Layer=Layer 1, Frame=1: Line 1: Method name must be GET or POST loadMovieNum ("", flaskkitTE.swf,1);

what is the GET or POST mean, can anyone give more advise please

I edited a nice text effect in Flashtyper and unzipped the zip file.

I tried to load in the .swf into my movie but all I get are a bunch of empty keyframes.

All the other movie clips I impoort in work fine, what am I missing ?

I made a text effect in FLASHtyper and saved it. How can I import it into Flash 5.0 in order to put several of these flashtyper files back to back to generate a looping banner etc.

Using The Flashtyper
I need the advise of someone that knows what to do after you complete a swf with the Flashtyper on this same site.

You see, I am working on a presentation for my company (my Flash experience is at intermediate) and I need a series of text effects to happen right after another in the main movie. Hince the use of Flashtyper.

1) I have little to no experience with loading movies into an existing (main) movie.

2) Do I need to FTP all of my Flash info to a server to be able to use the loadmovie feature or do I just import the movie into Flash?

I am confused on this step and I HAVE to do it for my company presentation - but I don't know where to start. I need some serious help!!!

When I startup the Flashtyper and try to open the FX and Text-Options Editor it says "loading effects please wait" and "loading fonts" without ever doing it.

I added enuff Fonts and FX to MyFK. What is going wrong here?

ok ok pardon my ignorance here, but i have no clue what FLASHtyper is. I know it has something to do with this site, and by looking at the FLASHtyper page that it has something to do with creating text effects. im still, however confused about it. Who made it? Is it a program to download? all that good stuff....

I used it long ago, the only references I can find to it here say it is disabled, or being fixed, but I think they may be old? Did it get bundled in some pay program? can I still find it free somewhere? Thanks for looking. If you haven't ever used it, and can get a hold of it you should. It's very cool.

I have this in frame 1 (where contain the text : "loading text..") :

frame 3 is my main movie, where i can play the movie directly, or wait for user command, the most important thing is that the movie loaded already.

the codes above doesn't work after i published it, but works on the Publish preview (where i cannot see the "loading text" appear at all).

the point is i want to load some flashtyper movie (not only 1 like above) in my 1st frame, shows the user that it's loading the text, it'd take times, but only at the beginning, so when i want to _root.MovieClip.gotoAndPlay("start"), i don't have to load it no more.

I have been trying to put some FlashType text into my movie. I decided not to use the flashtyper and instead downloaded the fontfx as a .fla file and have succesfully put it into my movie. The only problem is that I dont know how to set it up to have more than one line of text, because when I type what I want into the actionscript it only puts it into the first line:

text = "This is a test of the Flashtype Text Effect";
i = 1;
max = length(text);
kerning = "10";
size = "25";
setProperty ("char", _visible, "0");

I would like to have a whole paragraph of text but I dont know how to put the text onto a new line. I am a newbie so any held would be appreciated!!!

Iv been having this problem for a while now cant seem to get it right. I did my text effect with Flashtyper already and I have a webpage with a swf file already going. How do I put the text effect in the center of the swf movie. Im a newbee at actionscript so it would be of great help to go step by step. Thanks a million.

I have read the tute on it about scripting (which im new to) but im not sure if thats the prob or not... Ive tried to follow it but im not sure if i can't see anything cos of my dodgey action scripting or something else....

When i try to open the html file it says:

'This page shows your Text effect and the code to use if you wish to use it directly in your HTML page. If you wish to use it as part of a Flash movie then read our comprehensive tutorials here! '

but nothing else actually shows on the page, it seems to be trying to load something and i have left it for some time but to no avail

Im sure it must be a basic problem but being the ludite i am its still beyond me :P

I was told to use loadMovie and load my flashtyper .swf's into an empty movie clip. i have imported the swf and my action script for my 1st frame is:

loadMovieNum ("C:\Windows\Desktop\3c72a70d3da90062\vatu.swf ", 1);

with that being the location of the file i got from typer. i play it and its just a load of blank frames.. what am i doing wrong?

Sorry, i know this is in the wrong section, but it seems that the right section isn't very popular...

I have a flashtyper mc running...is it possible to use the mc as a point of navigation...ie: turn it into a navigation piece of text???

so here I am, a lowly newbie again.
got creative, used the flashtyper, no problem, the rocket science here is apparently knowing what to do with the new creation.
I have been given the wonderful advice to press F8, but..while that is what I should do, nothing happens when I do that.
I thought I could upload to my computer, then to my website and kind of embed it there...LOL
without of course the correct wording, nothing on earth will happen, and well, there I am, sitting with a great swf, and no where to go...H E L P please

Okay, now I know I have to have a movie to put my flsh type on...got that..its on my computer, all downloaded and evrything, ...whew..and I went to flashtyper and it gave me an upload movie option..but..er..nothing happens except a large box with nothing going on in it..what am I doing wrong here, I know this is geting boring, I am whining, but I am very very frustrated

I keep getting this error message

Target not found: Target="char14" Base="_level1"

when testing in FlashMX......I have loadMovieNum("FlashkitTE.swf", 1); on the first frame,

and stop(); on the 50th

I am quite new to Flash and this is my first time using FlashTyper....I am sure I have overlooked something really obvious and could really use some help here.

This ties into my previous post about trying to get another animation in another layer.....SAME DAMN FILE!!!! (lol)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I created few FlashTypers online, and would like to import those (all) into one new swf. How can I do that. I'm still ileterate with Flash, and can't figure it out.

but i cant figure out how to change to color of the font...
is it a set variable or set property?

FlashTyper And Flash MX
Hi all,

I'm pretty new to all these programs and I'm setting up my first site with Dreamweaver .. working with Fireworks and Flash MX .
I used FlashTyper to make some animated text .. but I would like to edit the background which appears to be black however you try and choose it when you make it .. and I think I can alter that in Flash .. but I cannot even open the file
I've read the forum in Flashtyper but it just doesn't happen ....
Anyone have any ideas please ???

hehe..

My question is about the text effects that can be downloaded based on the Flashtyper SDK. I have a few of them and they awesome. But after battling with it for hours, I cant seem to figure out how to get it to work for me like I want. What I'm looking to do is create multiple lines of text, repeating the effect underneath and the timing waiting for the previous line to get about 50% finished before the next one starts. Visually, it would look like this.

[[TEXT EFFECT]]
[[TEXT EFFECT]]

The first text effect fading out as the next comes in. I'm getting close, but just about every time I get close, I manage to break the "Do not modify" movie. If nothing else, if someone could direct me to the old help files for the SDK, I might be able to discern what I’m doing wrong.

FlashTyper Effect Won't Appear When Uploaded
My Flash typer effect works fine with my movie when I export it; however, when I upload both the movie swf. and my flash typer effect swf. ( which are both in same directory on level1), it won't appear in the browser.

I thought at first it was because my flashtyper swf file had capital letters in the file name, when I fixed that I realized that this was not the case for what is causing this problem.

can someone put me in the right direction?????

How Can I Add A New Frame To A Flashtyper Effect?
I open a zipped effect,in action script, change the words to what I want to fly by, but I can't add in a button or frame event that takes me to my regular flash timeline, where I can continue building my movie. Flashtyper Effects As Intro?
ok this might be aliitle bit more advanced, but, i downloaded the foldoud flashtyper effect. and pasted the frames into the first scene of my page, and the rest of the content is on the second scene.

what i want to happen is that when the text effect is finished that the page will go to the next scene.

i carefully read the actionscript, and tried to change the movie control actions inside it, my conclusion, i can't make the scene change from there.

changing the scene at the end of the timeline is also impossible.

so how do i do this??

Looping A FLASHtyper Movie
ok, im very new to flash, and i have no idea wat im doing. i have made a banner using the FLASHtyper tool, and i would like 2 make it loop. im using flash MX (trial - i cant afford the full thing). could n e 1 tell me how 2 make the banner loop over and over? and if possible, tell me how 2 make it link 2 my site when clicked. bare in mind, i really dont know wat im doing, so detailed instructions would b appreciated.
