When i import the .swf file into Dreamweaver as a specific sized image it is fine, but when I wish to have the image box size as 100% or 95% in the html code so it fills the screen and resizes in the browser the flash movie leaks out of the image box and into the html page which then shows bits of the movie out of the designed area, how can i stop this?

Does anyone know how to import html code into a textarea component (mx 2004). I've been converting static html pages to flash movies by manually typing them into the textarea.text property using the html tags. Is there anyway to import rather than manually input.

I made a flash animation ending with "Table of Contents" on a book background, and I made the same background as a webpage with fireworks and dreamweaver, and I made the same "Table of Contents" as links to the different pages. I've got a small problem..
I've got a menu-bar made in Flash I would like to import to Dreamweaver.. It goes smooth, just one problem..
In Flash, I used the getURL-commando to open pages in html (I use frames, so the buttons opens an unic page in topframe or mainframe). The URL-adress I use is to a local server wich contains the html-pages, but I would like the adress the button gets to be a folder-adress (ex mypagesite1 op.html). This way I can move the pages to any other server etc without changing the "adress" in Flash..
Any suggestions?

Hi. I made a flash logo for my website. I import the flash movie in dreamweaver 8 and resize it (actually 923 width and 119 height). The problem is that there is a blank rectangle above and under the flash logo-obviously the blank flash stage. In flash i made the logo in the centre of the stage. How can i delete the blank spaces of the stage and keep my logo and import it to dreamweaver 8?

Import SWF File Into Dreamweaver Problems
Hello All,
I was able to Publish a .SWF file (button) from Flash 8 on a Mac OS X system and import the file into Dreamweaver by going to Media, Flash. It works great when viewing the file on a Mac but when use my SITE folder on a Mac so someone can view it on their Windows PC through a Network, a square appears around the .SWf file when I hover over it. I must first press the .SWF file to get ride of the square then the button works. Here's the script

Images Won´t Run When I Import .swf Pic Gallery To Dreamweaver
I completed the tutorial for creating image galleries, when I open the .swf file, It works perfectly. But when I import it to dreamweaver (import flash), even though it´s there and I even see and click the navigation arrows, the images won´t even show.
What´s rong?

I wonder if anyone could help me - I'm using the flash image viwer component that ships with Dreamweaver. I can't seem to get it to loop correctly.

As you can see it seems to stop at the last record and if I force it to go to the next record I get get a strange caption appearing "NaN"
I've sort of hacked it to pull in a 2 reapeated regions from an Access DB one for the image array and one for the caption.

I didn't know where this question belonged, so I though of trying General Help. I wanted to make a website where I could put a flash movie (or work) as part of it, but I dont want to make the site 100% pure flash. I want to make it something like this:

That's a general site I found for an expample. However, I wanted the buttons (that are at the top, which I want to make it in flash as well) to open in area (or frame) that is below the flash movie. So, I dont know if the software I use for that would be dreamweaver or just regular html? and how can I get the flash buttons to target a frame that isn't in its movie, but is on the same page?

Control Flash Scenes In Dreamweaver Html...
super newbie here... created a flash website consisting of 8 scenes (each one is accessed by a typical menu of clickable buttons). i want to publish to my domain server using dreamweaver html.
problem:
when i place the 8 scenes on the html page i created in dreamweaver, they all play at the same time... how do i make the buttons work as they would in flash (i.e. linking to new scene)???

Linking A Dreamweaver Html With A Flash Button
I am currently creating a flash website. The thing is that i also am using dreamweaver to create a pop-up type of menu with only text so that people can print out the information on the html page instead from the flash page. Like a printable version. The thing is that I have been trying to make the page pop up from the dreamweaver html document. I've also searched some other tutorial on how to accomplished this. One thing I have found was to use the getUrl command but for some reason when i input the html name in the getUrl the way it should be written, the link still has not popped up. Best Way To Incorporate Flash Buttons Into HTML Pages Via. Dreamweaver?
Hello all-
What do you recommend for sites based in HTML but with interactive flash elements (like buttons?). Basically, what I've done so far is created a HTML page in Fireworks, imported it into Dreamweaver. I made animated buttons in Flash, created a layer in Dreamweaver and placed the buttons over the imported HTML. Now, the trick to all this is -- you can't assign links to flash elements in Dreamweaver, so you have to engrain all the links directly into the flash buttons in Flash.
Okay. Is this the way you would go about doing it? I'm just curious if there is an easier way. Layers are a little goofy in Dreamweaver. Also, having to go into flash to change the links is a pain if something changes, but if thats the only way...

Trying Ti Import Image Into Flash From Illustrator

My name is Nik and i have just signed up for flashkit about a few weeks ago. I have had flash 5 now for about 3 weeks, so i am very new to it all. At the moment i am having problem importing a file from illustrator into flash. I have my image, and when i import this into flash, it ends up having like a border around the image. So its like a solid image, i just want the image thats inside the border.
No matter what i try i just keep on getting like a border around the image, and trace bitmap i tried but it makes the file too large. can someone please help me out

I have to pan a huge image(4000x2400pix) and when I import image everything is OK, but when I export the movie all I get is a red screen... Does this happend to anyone, in bitmap properties the image is also red? Is there somekind of restriction in how big images you can use in a movie?

I am importing a txt file into a scrolling text box. I've done that with no problems. The client now wants an image imbedded in the text. Is there a way to do this? I know the HTML img tag doesn't work. Is there a way to reference an image in the library using the imported txt file? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm creating an "online logo-maker" application.
I want to:
(a) have a "library" of bitmap & vector objects a user can drag onto the "work area";
(b) have user-specific libraries. I'm planning on using PhP or ASP for the user to be able to upload bitmap & vector images to the server (they will be converted on the fly to WMF and put in a folder Flash can get to). I want the Flash (cs3) application to be able to reference that folder of images so the user can also drag those onto his "work area".
(c) Also, want admins to have capability to add to the main library.
Is any/all of this a runtime possibility? I don't even know where to get started so if you have ideas, please share!

Why Does Flash Import Image Sequences
in a position that's nowhere I need them to be? 0x0 would be perfect, and logical, but instead I have to drag all 30 frames to that point in order to make a movieclip that's easy to place.

I am currently working on a personal website/portfolio and I want to include a journal in flash. I wanted to possibly generate this file with a blogger of some sort. I am not interested in a way of updating the .TXT or .HTML file, but more interested if it is possible to import them into Flash... if anyone could give me some direction in this I would appreciate it.

Flash Menu Load Content On Html Dreamweaver Page

I need some help.
I have flash menu which i use in Dreamweaver.My website layout is in tables in Dreamweaver. I learnt how to use getURL to navigate menu buttons to change content for certain framesets. However Frameset are HELL! to resize.
Ok Ive been told to make my entire site in Flash, but b4 I do, was told I can use a Javascript to swap image on my HTML page.
I know this sounds long winded and pain. I'm more interested to see if there is a solution. Even if you all say convert to flash website design. which i will.
I would be over the moon if some1 can solve this...as many other forums has no idea.

Memory Leakage
Hi all ,
I am building an online tutorial which contains everything - streaming video and mp3, loading images externally, scrolling text, loading external swf, creating and duplicating mc, importing filters and transitions, etc.
When the program is started the movie runs very fine but after sometime when we browse through the program and visit each and every page, the movie becomes slower and slower. I didn't check the version online and I am getting this problem in my machine which is P4, 256 MB RAM.
Please guide me why this is happening and how can I clear memory from RAM so that the program runs smoothly throughout.

Howto Import Html Variables To Flash ?
i'm having problems importing variables from html to flash.
lines (in object and embed) in html file looks like this :
myflashfile.swf?var1=val1&var2=val2&var3=val3
line in flash menu file looks like this :
loadVariables("mysite/index.htm", "var1&var2&var3", "GET");
each var is connected to a flash button opening a file acurding to the imported var's :
getURL(var1, "target_frame", "GET");
my problem is that no mater what values are specified in the differet var's, the first var (var1) will allways get the value specified in the last var (val3).
i'd appreciate any help.

Import Image Sequence Into Flash 9, Images HUGE
I'm importing an image sequence into Flash 9. The original images are 340x225 pixels.
When they arrive in Flash though, the dimensions are a whopping:
963777.6 x 637793.9 pixels!!!!
When I look at the image properties in the library, it says 340x255. But whenever I drag an image from the library to the stage, the size gets changed to the above ridiculously huge size.
Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?
I Figured Out How To Import HTML Text Into Flash Using A .TXT File
I have been reading on the board lately about people trying to import HTML text into flash and make it scroll with the Flash UI scroller, and it never worked for me so I thought I would try make my own script
Well I did and it worked surprisingly
I started by making a .txt file in notepad and added this in the first line:
newstext=what I want to say, maybe ill make <font size="15">THIS</font> size 15
Then I opened up flash and made a new file.
I created a textbox, made it dynamic, named it textbox, set it to render text as HTML (<>), then put newstext in the variable box to communicate with the tag in the .txt file.
On the first frame of the movie I made this script

I made a new variable and named it loadtext.
Then I loaded my .txt text file on the 0 level.
I then used the if statement to check if the file had html inside, and if it did to put the loadtext variable inside the dynamic textbox which I named textbox.
Just to let you know I just started scripting and this is my first script actually. I hope I explained it right and if there are any problems or I have unecessary lines of script, let me know

Flash Buttons To Activate Javascript Code Inside HTML Document (Dreamweaver)
I've been tearing my hair out for over a week, trying to find information on this, and would be extremely grateful if anyone could help with this...
I have a web site done in Dreamweaver, with a collection of all my Flash movies. It has only two simple pages: "Movies" and "Notes". The first one launches movies in separe (new) windows, whereas the second one displays notes (information) about the movies, in the main window (not in a new window).
The way it works on the "Movies" page, is that I use a block of Flash buttons, that when clicked, will use the following Actionscript to launch a new window, that contains the movie:

So far so good. But on the "Notes" page, I have gotten stuck. I want to display a scrollable window, with text in it. I have created a layer (DIV table) for each window, and set all layers to be invisible (Except for a default one, that says, "Click on a movie to read notes about it"), and I want the user to be able to click on flash buttons just like in the "Movies" section, and have Flash send a signal to the HTML page, telling the Javascript code/CCS-P/whatever code to set the layer for the notes window on the corresponding movie button, to true...
This is a bit complex, so forgive me if I am unclear -- I'd be glad to explain further. I'm getting a bit desperate here, because I've been stuck for over a week on this one. It seems as if the FSCommand option may be a way of doing it, but I can't find a way to apply it practically -- most of the examples I found seem to not be related to anything quite what I am trying to do.

The Movies page is working as intended. But the Notes page, I had to try and make it work with HTML/Javascript (Dreamweaver Methods) instead of using the Flash block of buttons that I use on the Movies page...

Memory Leakage Problem In Loader

I also facing the same memory problem.
As you said in this case it works fine. But my case i am not loading images instead i load swf file which has sound embeded to the timeline as stream.
According to this code, same memory management performs well for me also. but the sound in the unloaded swf is still audible and when i load the next swf, these all sounds mix up and i don't hear anything properly.
To avoid the sound problem i added a line SoundMixer.stopAll() to getaway the problem, but after i added this line memory management got lost and my system gets hanged.

into flash, (text and images).
I´m creating a web page that has a block of text, (scrollable),
in each page that needs to be regularliy updated.
This text will include links to other parts of the flash document
aswell as a few small images.
As I´d prefer to create the site in Flash 5 I would like to find
a solution where the client can chamge a series of .html files
and upload them rather than having to edit the original flash
documents everytime.
I know you can do this with .txt files but I´m not sure if its
possible to use images, plus using special characters such as
©, á, ñ, is difficult this way.

Import Html Pages Into Flash == Search Engine Friendly
Okay, know how you can import html pages directly into flash. Would this solve the search engine problem about them not being able to read swf's? Search engines could index the html pages that get load and we could write an openning scripts that would redirect users to the main flash page if they click on it from a search engin link. I'm sure this isn't an original idea, but i have read several posting on here about search engines and didn't come across this.
So what do you think?
Deployment Issues- Fps Drop- NOT Leakage Issue
Hi all
I am having tremendous difficulties getting my swf to run at the frame rate I have stipulated, in any browser. Works great in the flash player, however.
The problem is not memory leakage or excessive screen redrawing, I am certain of that.
Quite simply- whatever fps i set for the document in the fla file, IE & firefox processes animations at a much slower rate.
I have read articles saying that browsers can lose focus if it doesn't detect user activity. To counter this I have created sound objects and played them throughout the simple 3 frame timeline. But to no avial.
the music is played at the right tempo, but the simple tweening movieclips are redrawn far too slowly- completely out of sync.
I know it's not a redraw issue because when i set the fps to 100, it actually plays too fast (but still not at 100fps!).
When I then move the mouse around the screen, the gfx are drawn at something like the right fps... so it seems to be a focus issue
I am desperate to get my simple swf to run at the 60fps i have set it at, can anyone please, please help me?
NB. I have a 1gig, p4, xp using flash 8
How Do I Swap Flash Movies In Dreamweaver In Place Of Swap Image?
In Dreamweaver you can swap images on a mouseover event using behaviors.
Instead of swapping images, I want to swap flash movies.
Example:
Build a table
place and play a flash movie in a cell
on a mouseover, replace that flash movie with another flash movie.
Can it be done? It apparently can't be done directly - Dreamweaver won't see flash files as swappable. Perhaps there's a workaround.
Where To Go To Get Help With HTML And Dreamweaver?
Sorry, I know this is strictly a Flash help forum, but besides the official Macromedia help forums, are there any places to go that have good Dreamweaver/HTML help forums (looking for something like Flshkit, but for Dreamweaver and HTML)

i have noticed in the forum that there is not a forum for html,dreaweaver and other html applications.
i myself iam looking where to find informations how to embed the flash movie in html lets say in a window or fullscreen or in the center of the html window?
is there an easiest way to do this procedure i mean can you do it with a another program simplified and how to upload your project?
i think thesethings are very important in order that someone who is new to this like me to do it.
