Importing Random Movies
I'm trying to call up random movie clips into my movie, each movie is named 12.swf, 13.swf, 14.swf and so on. I need to randomly call up any swf between the numbers 10 to 20, for example...
Can anyone help?

Hello, I'm new to flash and I need some help. I'm working on my first website and I want to insert 2 diferent movies that will play simultaniousely, one at the top and one at the bottom.can I first create the 2 movies first and import them later( and how do I do that?), or do i have to create the movies at the same time? OK I Imported a movie right? sooo when i bring the movie in the flash scene and test movie play, nothing shows up!

Importing Movies
Here's the deal. My main movie, first scene. Three layers, each with a static image. Creating a fourth layer, where I want a pre-existing movie to play. So, I go to File...Import..and bring in the movie. Trouble is, it puts it in the top left corner, whereas I want it more towards the middle. I could go frame by frame and move all the objects of the imported movie, but that is ludicrous and causes other problems I won't go into. Is there an easier solution I am missing here?

Is it better to use the get url command to play avi files in flash than it is to breaking the movie down to
separate frames and importing them into a movie instance?
when i try the importing separate frames method flash runs out of memory. Is there some way off allocating more memory to flash
Its for a demo cd so download time isn't a concern

Hello I was wondering if there is anyway to import movies into a scene in different places. I'm using mix-fx to do text animations but unlike swish it only saves each text as a movie. I want to do a members section listing members names of my game group so i'd need to import the movies so they all sit one right after the other but the movies always import into the same place on the page. Importing Movies
is there any reason that a movie encoded at 24 fps would convert to 12 fps when imported into a 24fps flash document? the video is divx and when i import it it's properties tell me that it is 24 fps but when i synchronize it to flash's frame rate (which is the same) it lowers it to 12 fps. it is causing jerkiness and speed problems in my movie. any ideas? should i just do everything in 12fps?

Importing Movies
Importing a movie in the mov/avi format and it's size is about 1200 * 1000, obviously this isn't great for flash, so I'm trying to scale it down without pixelating any of it
I've tried embedding the movie and I've got it playing and sounding good by importing the movie, exporting it as an flv movie and then using the media components to play the movie but whatever size I set the MediaDisplay component to the movie pixelates
any ideas?

I Need Some Help Importing Movies With A Actionscript
I have been having problems importing movies. I use a Mac and everything does work in my computer but when I burn this into a CD and take it to a PC the projector doesn't import the other movie or when I put it into the server some time it imports some time it doesn't. I am trying to see if there is a way of importing a movie into another by using a actionscript or java. You see I went to http://www.phoebusmedia.com and saw the flash version and I see that every time select Portfolio the content of this is imported as a Java Archive ".JAR " I went to see the Netscape cache and I saw that what had been downloaded was a "cache771953.jar" this means they used a java Archive.
Can any one show me how to do this.

Importing 'Empty' Movies
I have been trying to import a SWF movie into the Library. The movie only contains ActionScript, and has nothing on stage. However, when I try to import it, nothing is displayed in the Library. Why does this occur? Is there a way to import such a movie to the Library without having to draw a shape on the stage?

Importing Movies From A Database
I was wondering if it is a way to pull a group of MC into another MC from a database.(this is not for the web its for a project I'm testing on my PC and on a CD.
Example:
I want to pull all MCs with a A1 code in the data base. And line them up in nice straght rows.
What program should I make the database out of, if this is possable?
Or should I use XML or Another script?

Importing Text And Movies
Ok I'll try to make this as unconfusing as possible...
I have two movie clips. One is the main movie, the other is a submovie I'm loading into main.
Sub movie contains a text area that imports text from a .txt file and a scroll bar to scroll the text field.
Now, when I test the submovie, the text imports to the text area and everything works fine. However, when I test my main movie and click on the button that calls the submovie, the text area is blank where the imported text should be.
I have no idea why this isn't working correctly. All files are in the same directory. If you're still with me and understood my frustrated rambling, help would be appreciated. I put two links below to help illustrate. The sub movie works fine, the main movie is the one that doesn't load the text.
the code for the button in the main movie is as follows, where "loadBox" is the movie clip box with the fake comment in it and "pete.swf" is the submovie with the imported text.
on (press) {

Hello,
I am new to importing video clips to Flash.
Can anyone give me some details on how to do this:
I have a Quicktime movie (.mov) that I've imported to the stage. What is the best way to import & why is there no audio available when I import it, but when I play in Quicktime the audio is fine?? How do I decrease the bandwidth & why is it taking so long to export the swf??

Importing Quicktime Movies
Any help with these particular video embedding problems would be great:
1) My Flash movie has a long delay before starting the first scene, even though the scene containing the QUicktime comes later (probably b/c of the mov file size). I tried re-compressing but problem remains. Is there any other way so that my Flash plays without the long delay?
2) The audio is out of sync with the video.
3) The Quicktime clip plays even when moved to another scene (you can hear the audio in the bg) almost as if there is a button on the next scene that is somehow "triggering" the trailer to start again.
Anyone who has some great tips for importing Quicktime trailers into FLash, I would appreciate any help.

Hey guys, its the first time i import a movie into flash, and i would like to know what is the most efficient way to keep the file size down.
I imported a quick time movie which was 6mb and when i exported my flash file it jumped to 42mb.
Why did it get so big? is it maybe because it is a quicktime file?

Importing Mov/avi Movies To Flash
I can download the movie from the camera to the mac, no problem
I can then use iMovie to convert the movie to a mov or avi file, no problem
I can even import the movie to flash, export it as an flv movie and then display it in the media components, namely the MediaPlayback component
but.....
with the mediaplayback scaled it tends to pixelate the image, badly in some cases
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
I mean what's the best settings to export the movie from iMovies?
Best format for said movie?
Am I missing something with the scaling of the flv?
Any help/tips/points to other sites/anything....all happily received

I'VE BEEN WORKING ON A NEW HEADER FOR MY SITE. THE BACKGROUND OF THE HEADER IS AN AVI FILE FILE THAT I INPORTED INTO FLASH.

Help With Random Frames And Random Movies...

Anyway, I have an idea that i am working on and need some help....
I have 5 different movieclips that are about 300 frames long each (30 fr/sec). When Scene1 is played, I want to have 10 movie clips running, each beginning at a random frame, and each being one of the 5 movieclips chosen at random.....
Right now all I have is one of the clips running at a time, and the clip randomly changes every time Scene1 is reloaded.
I want multiple (10) random clips (chosen from the 5 clips) to be introduced at random frames throughout the movie to create a continuous random effect....
Any help would be appreciated....

Importing .swf Movies Onto Stage; Problem.
I'm designing a Flashed navigation bar that's about 640x240 pixels in size. I'm attempting to import a small .swf animation onto the scene, but it appears that any attributes that have to do with clipping off the edges of the animation (160x120 pix in size) seem to be ignored when I try to import it into my scene. What I am wanting to do is to set up a navigation bar that plays various animations in the same location from several butttons on mouseover.
For instance, as you mouseover a button that features a specific industry, an animation activates in a fixed window in the navigation bar. Roll over another button, another animation plays in that same window...how can I acheive this?

i've been working on a flash animation for quite some time now, and wanted to import it in a html page (using dreamweaver mx, 'insert media > flash')...
when i previewed the thing in ie, the browser kept on trying to open a webpage, but it never ended up showing the flash...it's if it keeps looking for it, trying to download it...
does anyone have any idea how i could fix this? could it have sthing to do with the publish settings in flash mx?

MX2004pro Importing Components In Other Movies
Ok so i just got the trial of 2004 pro and i am loving it...best flash ever, anways.
i made a accordian in a flash form type of movie and it works great i love how easy it was to make and the effect it has. but now i want to take that and use it in my other "normal" flash doument how do i import it and make it work? i have tried importing a .swf, not luck. tried just copying the frames from one movie to another, but it screwed it all up.

Whenever I import a quicktime movie into flash it is fine, however when I alter the brightness and contrast etc, it distorts the top 5% of the movies so there is a band across the top where all the colours are all altered.

Importing Movies In Flash Clip

I'm not gonna say I'm new to flash, but I'm not a pro either.
I was trying one time to import a movie of type .mov into a new flash file I was designing.
The problem I faced was the fact that the .mov file got imported but without its sound, so how can I import it with the sound?
Also, I want to import this same .mov file as frames, rather than as a whole .mov file, because I want to add some visual effects on some certain frames in this imported movie. So anyone has any idea?

Problem Exporting And Then Importing Movies In Library
So I am making a movie in flash. Its simple, consists of about 10 frames. I do the animation via motion tween on 2 of the layers. The middle layer is the body of a robot and the other layers (the ones that move) are its arms.
I save the file and export it as a movie. I can open the movie after exporting and it looks fine (as it does when I was making it). But, when I import it into the library of another flash file, it parts of the robot lose their colour and become completely see-through. The outline of the shapes remain but you can see things moving through them.
Does anyone know what Im doing wrong? Is there something I am missing? I was doing this without a problem a few days ago and I've only been having troubles recently.
I hope someone can help. If you arent clear on my explanation just ask me to explain it better (or I can upload some of the files I am talking about).

Importing Flash Movies Into Dreamweaver Frames
hello,
i'm having a hard time trying to line up 2 imbedded flash movies into dreamweaver. each movie is in a separate frame and i can get the movies to line up, but i do not want any space between them. the closest i can get is 1/4" away from eachother. when i move the frame so that the movies are touching the frame, the movie on the left gets overlapped and a scroll bar is added when i hit F12. is there a command that allows the 2 movies to be side by side without any visible seam separating the two? any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!
