Incorporating A Flash Nav Bar, How?
I've made a Flash navigation bar that I'd like to integrate into my HTML website. Problem is, I need this nav bar to stay persistant even though the user gets directed to various HTML pages. I can't have the bar reloading everytime the user loads a new page because animations will be in mid-stream, and I don't want to absurptly interrupt them. How can this done smoothly?

Incorporating Javascript With Flash
Ok, i have a flash intro i took awhile making and i have a hand hitting the screen. Now i have the code to make the javascript shake the screen as if the hand hitting it caused it. Now i have to incorporate it into flash, becuase i cant jsut set it on a timer because everyone is not on the same connection. Anyone know how to start my javascript on a certain frame? Hmm, I'm still a little bit unsure about how to apply the javascript code or what to apply it to in flash.

For example should I apply it to a window, or a label, or something else?

Incorporating Flash Into Other Programs
sorry, total newb question. i tried searching google and this forum without luck. part of the problem is that i have 0 knowledge of how flash works so i probably don't know the right buzzwords, etc.

my question is, can flash be used in other programs besides browsers? for example, if i write a visual c++ mfc application, can i use flash to make interface widgets? is there a library for this? i'm not necessarily targetting visual c++, just using it as an example. i really just want to know in a broad sense whether or not it's easy to incorporate flash interfaces into user-created applications.

Incorporating C++ Into Flash & Actionscript
Hi All,
I'm a complete Flash & Actionscript noob, and I have been unable to find this info elsewhere. Is there a way to get Actionscript to include c++ libraries to work client side and not server side? I have a C++ toolkit that I need to develop with, but the application needs to be Flash and Actionscript to work completely client side on various platforms, both in and out of a web browser. Is this even possible?

Incorporating Flash And HTML
I know this is a very novice question, but this is also the first time I am trying to incorporate a flash header and menu into a website.

This is the header that I am going to be using:

The black space will have small flash movies and images playing for each section.

My dillema is that I have no idea how to incorporate this flash file into a website, so that you can click on the link (within the embedded flash), and it will load the content for the HTML, without the rest of the site being flash. so basically, I would like the header to remain there constantly, without having to reload the page every time someone clicked on a link. Is this at all possible?

Incorporating Flash In MS Access 97
I have never used Flash software before, apart from the standard user experience. But after posting a thread in one of the MS Access forums, asking how i might make my database a little more presentable and good on the eye; i was told to incorporate some flash software. Like a startup sequence? Does anyone (a) know of a site whare i could download any software (free) from? And (b) does anyone have any ideas of what i could do, and how i might go about doing it?

Incorporating Video In Flash
I hope someone can give me some advice.

I'm building a portfolio web site for my room mate who is a sound engineer. He was about 5 short, 3 minute videos he'd like to show within the site.

My question is: What's the best way to implement these videos onto his site?
1. Should I have the videos open up in a seperate browser window (the size of the movie itself)

2. Or should I place the video to open right inside of the Flash web site itself? If I do it this way, do I just import the video into the Flash library and place it on the stage? If so, would the person viewing the site have controls such a "stop and play?"

Any help would be great.

Incorporating Outside Text Into Flash For Updates.
Hello,

I'm trying to figure out a way that information within Flash could be easily updated.

For example. The Dates that a Band has gigs each week, etc.

Is it possible to write something that would allow Flash to draw from a text file for information, and insert it into a specific page in the .SWF with specific font/formating information?

It seems like it would be possible, but I'm having trouble figuring it out.

Incorporating Flash Menus To Sites
I was considering producing a site including tutorials, my portfolio, and well, the normal stuff for that type of webpage, but I was wondering how you could incorporate a flash rollover dropdown menu to a mainly html page. I could use layers in Frontpage but that makes the page virtually unaccessable to those not using IE. Tables solve this problem but the flash stage size > the main buttons, so it would be nearly impossible (at least with my current knowledge) to but anything under the menu.

If anyone has a solution or could be of any assistance could you please aid my cause. The attached files are a primative menu for the site not near completed but the visualize the concept. Thanks in advance to those who reply.

Incorporating 3 Movies Into One Flash File
I had a flash file that I built with 3 separate scenes. I broke down the 3 scenes into 3 separate movies. Now I would like to have all 3 movies consecutively run one after the other in a new flash file. I placed each movie on a seperate timeline spacing them out so that when one stopped the other started but each movie only runs partially.

Incorporating Flash Music Player Into Website
I am interested in putting a little flash music player (jukebox) on my website - I've already made the player which works fine but...

I'm wondering the best way of incorporating the player into my website so that it will load and play (without reloading) across different pages.

Is the only way to achieve this by using frames - i.e. the flash player is in a frame which doesn't change, and the content is another frame?

Personally, i'm not a big fan of frames, so if there is an alternative to getting the flash to carry on without reloading, that'd be great to hear

[F8] Incorporating Flash Banner Into A Fluid Website
Hi

I am attempting to build my first fluid website and am having trouble incorporating the top flash banner.

I am not sure if it is a problem with resizing swfs or html but for lower res monitors I have white space at the top and bottom of the banner and higher res monitors there is white space at either side.

The html part of the site works to fill the screen.

Does anyone know why this might be and how I can fix it?

Incorporating The BROWSER Back Button In Flash
I have seen a new layout in Flash, where the browser's back button can be used to hit different pages that have been visited INSIDE the flash clip. So for ex, you go to a URL and its a full browser flash site, then click "news" and go to the news page. If you click back on the BROWSER, it takes you back to the main page of the flash site, not the last URL visited in the browser. Here is a good example: http://www.opcd.net/#/lomo_-_mr._wig/

going back in the browser will take you to other visted image pages. Can somebody point me in the right direction to figure out how to incorporate this in my layouts?

I built a site all in flash http://www.rbvll.org/bat.html & its not launched yet. I need to incorporate a mailing list program & news program.

Incorporating An Acionscript Loaded SWF Into A Differnt Flash Movie
Im working on a cd-rom project for a client that wants to incorporate a few other swfs from other projects they did in the past. They provided the swf's and the fla files. The problem is that the swf's are loades with a lot of root comands and a lot of actionscript in general. Will the action script have a lot of conflicts? all root comands will have to be re-written, right?

Incorporating Php/phpBB Into Flash To Create Password Protected Sections
I have a site however it is ALL in flash. I have a downloads section on my site which contains small gaming videos which guests may download. I also have a phpBB forum board. I originally wanted to make it so that you had to be a member of the forum and then login to download videos. (the login would be linked to the forum login as to only have 1 database). However, I ran into a stumbling block in that I am not sure how to incorporate php or even javascript for that matter into flash.

does anyone have any idea how to go about doing this?

To summarize, I just wnat to make it so that users have to be logged in to download files from my downloads section (which is still all in flash) furthermore I want this login to be linked to the phpBB login so there aren't multiple logins for the site.

Flash Search Field - Atomz Search
I currently use Atomz for their search engine. A clients site as of now is all HTML, however I am buidling some flash elements which will incorporate a simple "search" field and submit button.

I will include the HTML, however I am unsure how to make a form in Flash to be able to include the hidden fields, etc. I hope this makes sense, and thank you in advance!

Incorporating External SWF Into FLA
I am trying to use a screen recording I made using CamStudio into a Flash project. I got the Loader class code to work, but I don't understand how to incorporate it into the rest of my project.

I have some animation in the timeline before the SWF loads, but it loops over the SWF file. If I put stop(); in my actionscript layer right before the SWF file is supposed to load, the whole movie stops. Should the SWF have its own layer? What is the best practice for using external files along with other animations in the timeline?

Incorporating _xscale
hi,

There's a link to an fla file in a zip file at the bottom.

Right now the film strip slides back and forth, which is part of what i want it to do.

What I am trying to figure out is to also have it scale up at the end of the slide AND to scale down when a button is pressed and continues to slide.

So the order of events would be
1. slide
2. scale up
3. stop
4. button is clicked and strip scales down and then slides.

I'd imagine it is _xscale, but I can't quite figure it out. No i don't have an _xscale in there currently.

To see what I am talking about. Click left most blue circle > click services. From there you can click whatever buttons on the left column to move the slider.

Incorporating Video
Ok, so I'm creating a site in which there are numerous video files. Short clip here, then a few options on which video to play next. Because of this design, I'd like it to only load whatever video plays when the site pops up or the user clicks on, not the entire flash file at once.

What is the best way to go about this? I heard something about "calling an external file" but I have no idea how to do this. Please help.

Incorporating Video
hello,

im about to start a to buid myself a new web site, and I had an idea which i want to learn more about how to do. my idea is hvaing lots and lots of photos on the screen, and when you select a button, a hand pics up one of the fotos and brings it towords you, and then that foto ends up being the place where there info goes, anyway, what i was thinking, is incorporating video into the website, but i have never done nething to do with video before. I was thinking that i could record with a video camera, my hand picking up the foto. Do you get what I mean? if you do, what do i need to do this (software + hardware) and is this hard to do??

ps, i think the closes example of this is the website for fishhouse(.com i think)

Incorporating A Speed Variable
I am trying to script random movement but the trouble i run into is its jumpy. I know there is a way to incorporate a speed variable and keep the animation smooth. Right now I am using something like this.

moveX = random (4) +1;
moveY = random (7) +1;
}

onClipEvent (enterFrame){
this._x = moveX;
this._y = moveY;
}

with this clip it has a higher tendancy to move in the Y direction rather then the X, but the animation is jumpy. I would like a third variable that is speed to make everything smooth. How would you do it?

Incorporating Preloader Into Movie
I'm sure this has a really simple solution, but for the life of me I can't figure it out, this being my first go at flash and all. I'm using Flash MX, and I've already got a completed movie and preloader. Problem is, I created the preloader as a seperate file (was following a tutorial), and now I'm unsure of how I can get the preloader layers to be on the same timeline with my movie. i have this function that moves my mc under a mask, when it gets to the higher than the mask its text changes then moves to a position lower then the mask and scrolls back up to its origional position with the updated text. the problem is i need help making it ease instead of just moving with "this._y -=6"

Is this possible in any easy way, do you know any good tutorials or am i on my on this one?

Incorporating Text Effects Into My Movie
I'm just wondering what the best method of incorporating a FK Text Effect (either the FLASHtyper'd .swf or the source .fla) into a movie is, and how I do it!

Can I somehow make the .fla into a symbol I can use in my movie, with a transformable instance?

I've heard something about Holder MC's for the .swf... really no idea how to do it.

I've tried straight copying the frames out of the .swf, but as you can imagine that messes with my timeline.

I would like to be able to transform the Text Effect while in my movie, but I would be content if I could just play it in Scene 1 and then have the rest of my movie in Scene 2. I tried doing this with the copy frame method, but part of the script for the text effect makes the movie stop, and dropping the Stop action has some undesireable effects

Incorporating Quiz Template To Presentation
Hi!

I'm trying to create a Flash presentation but I need to incorporate a quiz into my presentation. I just recently discovered the quiz template, which will make it a lot easier. However, I'm not really sure how much I can change in the quiz template.

The presentation I'm creating has different topics, and before the user can move on to the next topic, he/she has to answer one question from the previous topic. At the end of the presentation, the user should be able to see a results page which shows the number of correct and incorrect answers. With that in mind, I was thinking that the presentation will have this kind of format:

Scene 1: presentation
Scene 2: quiz
Scene 3: presentation
Scene 4: quiz
Scene 5: presentation
Scene 6: quiz
Scene 7: results

Will it be possible to create this kind of presentation using the quiz template? Coz i tried adding scenes for the presentation parts, but the controls (next button) in the quiz template no longer worked. Would anyone know if I can create this type of presentation? And how do I go about doing it? I'm quite new at this, and I don't really know how to proceed. Any help you can give will really be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a problem with downloading source code and incorporating this within my own flash movie.

I am an extremely new flash user but have good ideas and would like some tips on how to interpret the example code from a website into my own relative movie's code.

I would like to incorporate a flash movie from a webisite that has a free download for 'sending email in flash'. It sounds straight forward but involves PHP!!?? apparently.

I have had experience in changing bits of code in Perl/CGI and Java but am needing a straight forward example to work with. Once i am aware of the 'ins & outs' of this quiry, I should be able to start creating my own scripts etc.
