I made an attempt to create a homepage banner with Microsoft PowerPoint and a third party tool Wondershare PPT2Flash Professional.I will show you in details in this article.
I think it’s hard to believe. But when I finished this work and publish it to web as a homepage successful, finally I believe. An idea to share it with all flash newbies and design fans pops up in my mind. That’s main reason for me to write this article.
Let’s start to create our PowerPoint work as a homepage now. I believe, PowerPoint is able to work in companion with Flash in future.
Ok, let’s begin our design tour.I will show you step by step. ^_^
My showcase: sample.swf
First, you must be sure that your PC has Microsoft PowerPoint installed. Launch the PowerPoint software. Setup it as follows:
1. File -> Page Setup. (Set the width and height as you like; I’ve set it as the below screenshot.)

Click “ok” and the page will change as follows (The rudimental form of a banner appears.):

2. Draw the loading rectangle by using a rectangle tool:

Right click the rectangle -> Custom Animation -> Add Effect -> Entrance -> Wipe (other setups as follows)

3. Insert football: Insert -> Picture -> From File -> Select a picture you want to insert
Add effects to football (three animations: entrance | emphasis | exit):
1) Right click the football -> Custom Animation -> Add Effect -> Entrance -> Fly in.
2) Add Effect -> emphasis -> Spin.
3) Add Effect -> exit -> Spiral out.
4. Insert a text box and input the sentence ““Let's publicize world cup's energy together!” in it. Add effects to the text box (three animations: entrance | emphasis | exit):
1) Right click the football -> Custom Animation -> Add Effect -> Entrance -> select one you want
2) Add Effect -> emphasis -> select one you want
3) Add Effect -> exit -> select one you want
5. Insert the photos and add effects to photos (three animations: entrance | emphasis | exit)
1) Right click the football -> Custom Animation -> Add Effect -> Entrance -> select one you want

3) Add Effect -> exit -> select one you want
6. The final interface is as follows (please check your PowerPoint file):

Open Powerpoint File From A Flash Movie Embedded In A Powerpoint File
hello everybody,
I need to open powerpoint files from a flash movie that will run within a powerpoint presentation.
So far I have understood the concept of fscommand and have been able to open powerpoint files from a flash projector. I have not been able to import the flash projector within powerpoint (I do not think it is possible anyway).
Note: I use flash mx 2004

Help With Mix-fm Inserting?

I purchaced the Mix-Fx and want to insert that in my e-bay ad template,they accept the use of HTML but I want to insert this in the body of that document but when I do use the code I got from using my Coffee Cup HTML editor,I view what I've done and it comes up a white blank block(cell). I insert this by itself and it works fine in the editor BUT when it is inserted into the body were I would like it to go it comes up blank.I have gone to support and I can't this working by what was suggested. I really hope there is some one talented that can "walk me through this". I have one other problem with this, is there any way to enclose this in a border? Inserting A MC Into Another MC
Problem:
I would like to create a button that when the user rolls over it, a SEPARATE movie clip displays information related to that particular button: i.e Roll over HOME button and on the other side of the movie a sign pops up: "Click here to go home."
I have a quite a bit of info to display, as well as the info will b changing every month so it has to be easily updatable.

Inserting The <img> Tag .. . Please Help :(
i've a flash file on my site (http://www.servantmediagroup.com), and in it, I'm calling xxxx_gallery.html on the media link. The html file appears fine, and scrolls as we want it to, but I need to somehow get an image or swf inserted in there to be displayed as well. The image is smg_logo.jpg and swf is butt_gallery4.swf. All files are in the same directory. And the image appears fine when the html page is viewed on its own (http://www.servantmediagroup.com/xxxx_gallery.html). But I just can't get the darn thing to show on the site I've looked up my problem, and know that flash only supports a limited set of tags, and it can only view progressive jpgs. Which I have. It supports the <img> tag along with the src attribute, and I've tried <img src="smg_logo.jpg">, <img src='smg_logo.jpg'>, <img="smg_logo.jpg">, <img>="smg_logo.jpg", <img>='smg_logo.jpg' . .. . I've run out of things to try honestly The field in the flash file is dynamic and set to render html, and I don't think that's really the problem, as the file is being displayed .. . just not the image, which leads me to think it's my tag I'm using Flash MX 2004, and I just don't know what else to do, can someone please please please please help me ???

Inserting A .swf
What is the easiest and most accurate way to insert a swf? I want to insert a swf at x: 10 y: 10 but it seems the only to do it is the following:
Import the swf to the library
Drag the swf to the "canvas"
Double click the image
Copy all of the small frames
Paste to the "canvas"
Manually go through , click on the frames and insert x: 10 y: 10
Is there an easier way???? There HAS to be something better!!

I have created several swf, several are videos. I want to insert them into an fla and have them play automatically then loop.
I tried just moving the swf from my library to the work area, but the swf aren't playing correctly.

i saw a tutorial on adding an swf movie clip within a running swf, i managed to add pictures and swfs within the same directory, using something like this:

SWF In PowerPoint - Is This Bug Being Ignored ?
There is a known bug when inserting swf into powerpoint - it appears upside down at the beginning.
I couldn't find any solution for this in Macromedia's site or flashgeek.com .
Is this bug being ignored ??! How can it be that it won't be fixed untill the next release of Flash Player (I currently have 6.0.29.0) ??

Have tried to export flash as .avi or .mov but the resolution no good.
There is always an error message stating that "either the file is non-standard or quicktime is not installed properly" when I tried to insert the .swf file. Can someone please help???

Ok, I figured out how to insert a .swf file into a PowerPoint presentation. I start the Slide Show and the .swf plays. But when that same page loops back it doesn't play. It's a frozen image of the end of the flash.
How do I reset the flash so it starts again each time the presentation loops?

Swf In Powerpoint
I am brand new to using Swish. I have developed a simple 15 second countdown timer. I have loaded the timer into a powerpoint XP slide presentation. The timer and slide show transistions are both set for 15 seconds. If I advance the slide manually with a mouse click, the next time I view the slide, my timer starts from the point it ended.
How can I have the timer automatically start at the beginning?

I tried to integrate it in a powerpoint presentation, wich is possible if i save the swf as a flash 5 file, but powerpoint doesn't read any of the actionscript. Here's what i wanna do people. I am creating a presentation so not necessary web. I got an intro swf. at the end of the intro I want to spawn a powerpoint file on a new window. The browser-firefox-does not seem to recognize the format so how can i work around this? The only way I can think of, is export powerpoint to a format readable on the browser. If I convert my intro swf to exe, and spawn window. will the window be a browser window. i am bit lost. help!

Mac Powerpoint
I'm working in Powerpoint 2004 for the Mac version 11.2.4. The help menu says that a .swf file can be played, but when I do an import movie, it only displays the first frame. Is there something that I need to add to Powerpoint (like ActiveX on windows), to make this work. I've tried all different flash player versions.
Could someone please steer me in the right direction?

I'm researching solutions to implement a Microsoft PowerPoint file conversion to SWF on a Web Based application. I already have a lot of interface based and commercial solutions listed as FlashSpring for example.
Does anyone here knows any open source solution?
I found JODConverter, but it requires OpenOffice installed and it's not a good alternative to our project.
Also, it would be great to receive indications to good information on develop our own converter in Java, but in this case, I really don't know where to start from... I'm already researching infomations on PPT file specification and SWF specification but I haven't found any good information on how to use these specifications yet.

FLV In PowerPoint
I have my FLV file (which I do not want to be SWF). Adobe's KB only talks about SWF files. I have tried that method with an FLV file and it does not work. Does anyone know how to play FLV files in Microsoft PowerPoint? Or is it impossible? I believe it probably has something to do with ActionScript. Help anyone?

Hi everyone,
almost everday (except sundays) I get frustrated with PowerPoint. Incompatability between OSs, incompatability between versions, incompatability within. One day I work on a presentation, the next day I can start over again - it aint working no more. For all of you who believe there must be a better way to communicate and other than with PowerPoint, perhaps you are interested in the following. The attached PPT subsitute it is far from perfect and easy to handle for non-experts, but it shines a little light towards less frustration with PP.
Constructive criticism and ideas to optimize are most welcome.
The features are as follows:
- Fixed screen resoultion (havent tested it on beamer)
- swf opens fullscreen (on both MAC and PC)
- mouseclick advance, shift click go back
- arrow keys navigation (left, right = next, back; up, down = first, last)
- punch in numbers an hit enter to get to higher slide numbers
- cursors inactivity after few secs.
- most importantly of all: FULL FLASH FUNCTIONALITY AVAILABLE...sind FLASH

Fla From Powerpoint
OK, here we go.
I have a dumb assignment to perform which I am not sure can even be done.
We created a Powerpoint for another organization as a favour a couple of years ago *remember this time lapse later* and it has one slide that was created in Flash. This slide does not work and of course the creator a) doesn't work here any more *I told you to remember the time lapse didn't I?*, b) documented diddly squat and finally c) didn't leave the .fla file to work from.
Can I extract the fla from the powerpoint?
Do I have to do anything else to it before I can edit it and try to find out how it broke?

Inserting HTML
Can you have a URL load into a SWiSH movie? Is this possible? The other question is can you preload one than one movie into the users cache - I have several movies for several pages but want to only have one loading time not each time a different page is loaded.

Inserting Frames?
Hi all. I'm a flash newbie still trying to grasp the basics.
Suppose I have made a simple animation of a square that moves across the screen in 10 frames. I created a motion tween from frame 1 to frame 10, and everything is fine. Now, suppose I want this square to move more slowly.. I want it to take 15 frames to move across the screen. What's the best way to insert frames so that this motion moves more slowly? I can't "insert keyframe" or "insert blank keyframe", those both seem to break the animation.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Inserting Frames
I'm trying to follow the tutorials (on this site and on others) but whenever I'm asked to insert frames, I seem to get confused. An excerpt from the tutorial says:
"Add 40 Frames to the movie by clicking at Frame 1 of the Actions Layer and dragging down to the bottom layer to select the frames and then click F5 to add the Frames"
In their screen capture of the Flash timeline, the last frame (which is 40 in this case) is blank. But when I insert these frames, at frame 40 there will be a rectangle icon instead of being blank like their sample.
I am using Flash MX.
