Macromedia Flash Application Not Downloading
someone created my .swf file and emailed it to me and I need to import the .swf file using the load move action method so when I make changes the file will not be so slow. I downloaded the macromedia flash from macromedia.com several times and it states installation complete, but I can't seem to be able to open macromedia flash. What am I doing wrong????

Downloading Remote Componenets From Macromedia Problem
Hello,
I have downloaded the flash remoting components from Macromedia, but when I try to install (by double clicking the install app) them I get the following error message
PHP Code:
The package "FRCinstaller.app"
could not be opened because it cannot be
used with this version of Mac OS. Or there is
a problem with it.
If there is a problem with it,
try reinstalling the package
So I downloaded and tried to install 3 times with no luck.
I'm using Mac OS 9.2

Hi, I have a little but hopefully easy problem. I am working on a site for a Video Production friend of mine and he wants people to be able to Download some of his video work.
I have tried the basic "GetURL" action and when you click the download button it pops a window full of broken down code.
I just want the file (MP4) to start downloading to the users computer.

OK so I've been making my living designing flash sites for a few years now, but this has never come up and I can't find any info on the subject so I figured that I'd ask here:
How can I get a zip file to download from flash.
eg. I have a .Zip on a site, and I want the user to click a button in flash that will let them DL the .Zip. Sounds easy, but really it's been a pain.

I'm trying to download the trial of flash 8 and it downloads index.cfm 105mb
I tried renaming the file to .dmg .sit .zip .bin .hqx but cannot get it to work. what should the file extension be?

Hitting a few websites that require Flash 8. So I download it and it says that if you see the movie in the download window it was successful. Says I may have to reboot so I do that. Go back to the websites and it says I need to download Flash 8 again. This happens on several different computers I use. Am I missing something?

I am not able to download flash onto my computer. I have Windows XP Home and am using a broadband connection.
When I try downloading Flash it will go to the next screen but not show the install window. Instead I only get a white rectangle box with a small square in the top left corner of the box that has a red "X" in it. I have all my browsers shut down and have cleared all temp files. Any ideas?

Is it possible to include PDF files within a Flash site that can then subsequently be downloaded by users of the site? Or does this have to be done through dreamweaver or a combination of both, "get url" etc. etc.? If anyone can suggest a possible solution it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having real problems with this. I have some mp3's on my flash site that I want the user to be able to download. I'm using the getURL action to do this and the mp3's are zipped so that the browser knows that they should be downloaded (cheers guig0). This works fine on my Mac but PC users say that the file looks like it's about to download but the progress bar doesn't progress and nothing happens.
Are there any browser developers out there that can tell me why this happens???

I tried using the getURL but that just calls the file and different computers have different ways of opening the file. some download the file, some stream the file, etc..

hi there, i have video clips i would like people to download off the site i run. when you click on the d/l link the media player opens, not microsoft d/l manager (right click save as). in order to open this dialog box to save the file to your computor should i zip the video files??? or is there another way, ie. through as???

When A Flash Movie Is Downloading
I created a couple of small-file-size Flash movies for my client. The file sizes are so small that I didn't bother creating a preloader for them. The background color of the movies, which is light blue, matches the background color of the html pages in which they are embedded. However, when it is downloading, the space where the movie is going to be is white. How do I avoid that? How do I get it to be the same light blue color the whole time. White Flash Before Downloading

the problem is when I first start downloading the flash file a white image appears where the flash movie is, then it show the preloader but because the blank white area is has been there for a while the movie has already dwonload 40% of the movie???
why does this happen, does any one know how to fix it, is there a simple bit of script or something to put in with the preloader???

I want to make a flash where a user can click on song title and get the song downloaded on his hard drive. How can we do this? I tried it but it always open Windows Media Player and started buffering the song. I dont want this but to download the song on users hard drive.
