Mp4 Vs Flv

We are showing some of the commercials we've done on our website. My .mov files show great on the Mac, however I guess this is not the best file type for the PC inviornment. Is there a best file type for the PC inviornment? mp4? Or do I just need to create a .flv and use a Flash player?Thanks
