Ok here's my problem, I imported high detailed bitmap into flash and when i go to publish in swf the detaile becomes blurry. I know about the publish settings and the properties in the library and i changed all that but it still does it. It is frustrating the &#^@* out of me and its such a waste of time. Please help.

Hello, i have had help creating a form that loads a .txt file into a dynamic text area, but i feel as if the text is blurry, and sorta light shades then pure black is there a way i can go about changing this?????

I just made a rectangel in flash, now when I look at it in IE it looks blurry in high quality mode. When I switch to low quality mode it is crisp, what am I doing wrong ?

I'm trying to apply the Blur Filter Class to an _mc on a nav that rolls along the _x axis when a button is clicked. However, there is a residual blur after the motion is finished even though I set the end position of the blur to 0. Does anyone know how to correct this? Here's my code:

As you can see, I am using the Blur/Easing class for the blur as well as the Easing Class for the movement of the _mc.

When I put the following extra lines of code in, it helps get rid of SOME of the blur but the result is still blurry by a pixel or two:

I have imported a background as a jpg from photoshop and it doesnt look as sharp and clear as other jpg images I have seen in other flash movies.

is there any specific way i am supposed to save the image in photoshop before importing or is there anything I can do to make it look sharper once inside of flash?

Hi...someone suggested that I used a pixel font to write some small text. I've made a static text box and written my text within that. It looks really sharp and crisp when looking at the fla file but when exporting or previewing it looks just as blurry as a regular font? Now here the really weird thing.....when I preview it and put the 'Quality" setting to "LOW" it looks super crisp? What am I doing wrong?

I have a client that says the text in my Flash that I am making for the is too blurry. It's a small 12 point Arial font I'm using. I told them that's just how it is but they want it fixed.

Is there anyway around this? I've even tried making a GIF for each word but those aren't gonna help load time much.

I have a scrollbar movie that has text. WHen you scroll however, the text becomes blurry at certain points. I know about the text becoming blurry when it's not on an integer value, so i programmed it so that it would be, but to no avail. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Please check out this part of my site for me. I created it on a MAC and tested it on quite a few PC's. Most are ok but on some the font is fuzzy. I used Arial font mostly. Should I use a device font instead? Is this what most Flash Designers use?

I imported a few jpg images into flash and have adjusted the properties on them inside flash to have 100 quality and the pictures come out like a blurred gif when I test the movie......anyone know how i can solve this problem??

I know I'm probably dain bramaged, but I can't figure out how to create an effect I want. I want a clear but blurry panel to cover part of a background for text to go on. here is an example of the technique http://www.millang.dk/ Anyone help me figure out how to do it?

I am preparing a CD which plays fullscreen and holds several scalable movies. Although the font I am using for texts is not very small (12 points), it looks a little blurry when presented at 800x600 pixel resolution. Besides, I can't use device fonts, since I need to mask some parts of the text.

i have a problem.. when i export my flashmovie the text that I am using in it tends to look blurry on the screen.. i have tried to make the text into graphics and it only got worse...

do these pixel fonts (fff business) in the middle of the screen look blurry? they just don't seem to be right. these are in a seperate clip, where all are on whole coordinates. do all of the movieclips in my entire movie also need to be on whole coordinates? thanks.

I'm having a problem with blurry text. I have tried all the different things recomended by macromedia and none of them worked. The weird thing is that not all of it is blurry. In the same text area it may be clear at the top but then at the bottom it will be blurry. I am using different sized LoRes fonts.

Need help again please.

As the above, I am having trouble with my text blurring when putting it into a movie clip so that it can be scrolled.

The text im using is Verdana. The problem is when I check the 'enable device fonts' box that makes the text clearer.

Im putting the text into a graphic instance. Situating the text(inside the graphic instance) perfectly on the grid so that it sits exactly on a 'pixel'.
Situating the graphic instance text perfectly on the grid within the movie clip. The problem is that when I check the 'device fonts' box mentioned above, place the movie clip onto the main stage and publish, the text disappears. If I uncheck it, the text just ends up blurry! Very blurry!

Is there anyway of maintaining the texts clarity when placing it inside that type of movie clip?

I'm trying to make my site look really crisp and sharp by using a bit of pixel art, I have got pixel fonts looking fine, but anything I draw look blurry when i zoom out, has anyone got any tips?

hello all..

i have created this website and the text is very blurry. it uses a basic tahoma font. in the bottom layers of the movie i made the buttons dynamic text which helped in the bottom layers. although i cannot use that option in the upper layers. when i try the text will not appear when loaded into the movie at all.

on my home page the text looks fabulous, crystal clear
on my gallery page the text is blurry! gahhhh
its embedded and all, its pissin me off, why is one clear and one blurry!

now the home page and gallery page are both dynamic text boxes loaded in...the only difference is the gallery has a scroller

now is it this scroller thats makin it blurry? my guess is yea. rrrrr death will come to blurry text

i am using fff harmony, 8 pt downloaded from fontsforflash.com... i put the text as movie clip and the text looks so blur.. the text positions are without commas

Only Some Characters Looks Blurry

Go to "Nauja", then "Tu experiencia" and look the phrases "Cies, Ons y Salvora...". Some characters looks fine and otherones looks blurry.
I use Arial (12 pts). and antialias property so I think it must seems clearly all the text. The text and the MC who contains it are in integer positions (i.e., absolute x and y coordinates)
I use a mask, so it's the only doubt I have as the reason to see blurry.

Could anybody help me, please?

How do I ensure that my copy in my flash website will not be anti aliased (aa), without making it dynamic text for no reason. I know about the special fonts set up to appear not aa and that are supposed to set to certain sizes, but when they move, they still appear blurred?

What are the most widely used special flash fonts? And where can I get them?

i am having a problem with the type (lettering) in my flash movie. i am using the font "kroeger 0853" and for some reason in some places the type comes out blurry. i want to use it in 11 points but it looks very bad, 8 points is better but some text is still bad and other places its ok.

any ideas?

I have a textfield with external text.
I use the font standard 07_53 in my site; 8pt.
I know I have to place the textfield (and it's parent MCs)
on a whole pixel and not on i.e. 99.7;
The lineheight is the default 2...

And still..... some lines are sharp, some are a bit blurry and
some lines are unacceptable i-need-glasses blurry..

Does anyone know the trick to solve this??

I want my text to be super crisp in flash. It looks ok, but I would like it crisper. I tried pixel fonts and they dont seem to work. All my text is dynamic and set to render as html. Any suggestions?

Blurry When Rotating .png
I have a volume button that turns. It's a transparent .png.

It gets blurry when rotated. Is there a way to correct this in Flash? I've tried playing with the compression settings within Flash and tried changing it from jpeg->gif compression within flash, but it still looks SOOOOOOOOOOO jaggy when it is rotated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I open up the swf and click on the bottom image of this link the numbers look fine. look at the number 46 and 69 on the top left. They look clean even though they are pixelated.

Once I insert the swf into an html file and call the same image on the bottom left it gets all blurry. look here if you lokk around the number 46 and 69 on the top left you will see black lines around them

All images are called externally

why would this happen?

Hey people. I have an issue with blurry pixel fonts on my website. My text are actual numbers, no decimal points and they are set to anti-alias text. Is there any other methods of keeping them sharp? They are also enclosed in buttons if that helps. Thanks.

ok so...

i have a completely flash website, it has the main swf at which does the unloadMovie() and loadMovie(), all works fine EXCEPt...only on the movies that get loaded in via loadMovie(), the text is blurry as if the font wasnt embedded

know any way around this please?

Blurry Gifs
Hi Guys,

Heres a classic problem. I've got a series of gifs in my movie to simulate a combobox in action, whilst in the edit mode the gifs look fine. As soon as I export and preview the movie the gifs move ever so slightly and as a result have blurred edges and are slightly stretched.

I've done the normal things, all the gifs are on whole x y co-ordinates (ie no decimal points), the _quality is set to BEST, jpeg quality is maximum (i think that still applies to gifs) and I have switched off Allow Smoothing in the gif properties.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this? I've done all my usual fixes but they still blur and shift!

I have been searching around and can't find a solution to my problem. I have dynamically created text boxes which are under a mask.. no problem embedded the fonts and had a text-box off stage. BUT... the text is showing up blurry ... is there any way to fix this... and the bad thing is ... pixel fonts are not an option as client doesn't like them(i dissagree)...

Hi, is there anything you can do to stop text getting blurry? I was told to get pixel fonts but i'm sure ive seen other flash sites with good fonts that aren't blurry.

I tried most of the recommended advice for fixing blurry text, and it still lingers...

Anyone have any advice or ideas? The rest of the headings aren't blurry. And I did place it on coordinates without decimals. Also, the font properties match the other ones coming in clear. (and the font is size 8)

Blurry Text - Why?
I've rounded to the nearest integer, set to static, have it on bitmap text option, button is it integer as well and still blurry. I have about 50 other buttons in the movie using the same thing and none of them are blurry.

I don't understand why sometimes a buttons text will just refuse to come on clear.

In my main movie (main.fla) I have a thumbnail image (nice and sharp) in frame 5. In the main movie through the release of a button (loadMovie: zoom.swf), I have an enlarged detailed view of the thumbnail. Inside zoom.swf there is a button to close the enlarged detailed view (unloadMovie: zoom.swf) and the comand directs back to frame 5 of main.fla (where we started). The thumbnail in main.fla in frame 5 is now blurry. Any ideas?

Hi guys!

I'm having some problems with some text I'm bringing into Flash from Illustrator that has been broken apart into shapes. The text has been set in Illustrator by a third party and they are quite stingent on this, so there's no budging there - i.e. I can't bring the actual text into Flash and use "anti-alias for readability".

Once the text is brought into Flash as a .swf (exported from Illustrator) all of the letter forms seem to have developed blurry edges like they are anti-alias bitmaps, but they have come straight from Illustrator.

Is there any way of solving this?

Hi,
Ive just started codeing for my new game in as3 however at this early stage all my objects seem a little too blurry when they are moving around. I currently have just 9 32x32 movieclips that i am just randomly moving about at the moment. but even if i just cut it back to 1 user controled object its no different.

Is there a way to improve this like overiding the redraw/refresh or something.

Pictures Blurry- Help
My client wants his site full screen. The pictures get pixilated when they are full screen. Some pictures with little detail are ok but the others look like a mess any ideas on how to solve this prob.
