Pasting Frames Together
I'm making a big ass movie so i have been animating it in about 30 second segments. this has left me with multiple flash files and i want one file now that im done. when i "copy frames" from one file and paste them in front of the frames in another file the animation plays all funny. it looks like the effect a screwed up timeline would produce but my timeline and order of frames is intact and not off skewed. any help on how to get all my flash files into one would be awesome. and if your really helpfull ill be happy to give you a screen credit in the movie. thanks.

Is there a way to paste frames that you copy without it pushing the frames behind it down the timline? It's like it takes the amount you copy and it pastes that much extra at the end. This can cause a lot of headache if you are trying to line stuff up. Up to this point I've always just went in and deleted those extra frames but it is a hassle. Any thoughts? Thanks

Pasting Frames From One Movie To Another
i am attempting to paste 4 layers of frames from a sample tutorial to my movie. the problem is when i past the frames into my movie, it always places it in the same place ... and i cannot select all of the frames and move them to the position i prefer ... or can i ? any help is appreciated .

How To Do Correctly - Cutting And Pasting Frames?
Hello,
I was wondering what I'm doing wrong. All my flash pages have the same size canvas. When I try to copy some frames from another flash document I created, and paste them in the new document, the objects in those frames are rarely in the same spot as the original even though the original has the same size canvas(sorry I don't know the right word for this).

Copying Frames And Pasting To New Movie
Does anyone know the best way to copy frames from one movie and past them into a new movie. I have been rebuilding my site and i want to keep some of the old movies. When I copy the frames and paste them to the new movie it does not center them on the new page. If i try to move the movie it messes up all of tweans. Is there any way to movie the pictuers and text without messing up the tweans?

I have a bit of a problem. I am working on a flash animation for my site. And everything was going as planned. But I didn't realize that my whole animation was actually 'nested' inside of another animation. Is there a way to transfer the frames and animations to a new flash file in tact, so I don't have to redo all the animations and everything i worked hard on?

Crashing When Pasting Frames Ideas?
Hi,
Any ideas? My animation is fairly large - I can paste small amounts of frames at a time, but I want to duplicate larger sections without crashing every time I paste frames. I went to try to increase the applications memory but realized in OSX I don't actually know how. Could this be the problem?

Pasting Into A SWF
Research for an internal bug tracking system that's being built in Flash & Flex. Is it possible to paste an image from the clipboard into a SWF at runtime? Sample scenario would be when a user finds a bug somewhere, takes a screengrab with Print Screen and while logging the bug is allowed to paste the grab into the bug details, similar to how you can copy and paste into Outlook emails. Haven't had any joy so far trawling the web to see if there's even a remote possibility, with or without introducing a 3rd piece of software/tool.

Hello,
does anyone no of a way that if a button is pressed flash replicates ctrl + C? for example a variable is generated for use in a text box, when a button is clicked it saves the text into clipboard for use in notepad etc?

Pasting A New Scene?
I've got a project going that has 2 scenes, and built another scene as a separate file (oops). Now I'm trying to take that work, and import it into the 2 scene movie as scene 3, and can't seem to get it right...I've tried making a new scene with the same number of layers and frames, selecting all frames and pasting it into the other frames...No go. Tried saving it and importing it, again No Go...

Symbol Pasting

Still new to Flash and just came upon an interesting problem.
I am trying to copy text from MS-Word and paste it into a text box in MX. It is not only placeing the text BEHIND the text box but seems to be converting each letter into it's own object???
Running OS-X and have done this before with no problems.

I am copying and pasting text from a word document into flash mx.
The problem is that when I paste into flash that instead of pasting editable text, it coverts all of the text into objects.

My friends and I are working on a game together. One of my friends doing the animation didn't put everything inside one movie clip. No I am having problems pasting everything inside an MC. Every time I copy and paste frames, what I paste is pasted in the corner, then it is impossible to line up. I have pictures below showing what I mean.

I have tried past in place, but that doesn't copy the animation. I can't move it over, because I have to do that with every single keyframe, and since he does a lot of KF animation, that would be a lot of work, and time, and it just wouldn't look right. Is there a way I can combine different fla files in to one simply? Please help! Thanks!

Pasting HTML Into Actionscript
To input text into a scrolling text box I’ve been pasting html text from the list variables window into actionscript as per Patrick Mineault’s tutorial. I find the actions window doesn’t display very well - the text is strung out so wide in the window it’s cumbersome. I also couldn’t paste a large amount of text at once. I seem to have to add small amounts at a time.
Is there an easier/better way to get my html text into the actionscript window?
Any tips/tricks/guidance woud be appreciated.

Pasting Into Flash Problem - Please Help
I have an illustrator logo that I want to animate in flash. I have been trying to paste the vector parts into flash from illustrator (which i haven't had a problem with in the past). Whenever I paste a vector image in Flash, the smooth curved lines become straight and jagged. The vector points are still there, but there are a lot more of them and they don't have handles. If anyone could help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Copying And Pasting From Flash To IE
When ever I try to copy anything from a dynamic or input textbox into Inernet explorer, it just doesn't copy it. I tried CTRL + C and Right click -- copy, but both don't work.
I know that there is nothing wrong with my Clip Board, as I have tried copying from anywhere else, and it worked.
Why does this happen? I am using Flash MX.
Also.. Is there any way to use actionscript in order to copy text (from an input or dynamic textbox) into the clipboard?

Help Copying And Pasting Pics
I just got flash mx and I'm trying to work with sprites and backgrounds and I'm having some trouble copying and pasting pictures. Whenever I paste something it gets shrunk down a bit, and gets turned vertically. Along with that I have to remove the smoothing out option. Are there any ways I can automaticially have those things turned off? Also, is there a way where I can make a specific color act as if is clear (for example if I chose white to act like this all white in that object will be transparent)? Thanks in advance for the help.

I have a pagemaker file containing various mathematical fomulas. When I copy the text and paste it in Flash, certain fonts change and it is real painful to get them back as each changed character is to be selected and the font needs to be specified.

Hi! I'm rather new at Flash. I was wondering how I can import an image into Flash and keep it the exact way it looks without compressing it at all. Is there a specific image type I should use? I've tried BMP and PNG. The image is pixel art, so you can tell if it is compressed and it looks bad. I've tried fiddling around with all the controls, but nothing works. Pasting Text With Transition
I'm trying to get a sentence to fade in and fade out, so i created two separate layers- one with the fade in, then i copied the text from the first frame of that layer, copied it to a new layer where i wanted the fade out to start, but the layer is being pasted as grey frames and i can't edit the transition (it looks like it is copying over the original transition as well as the text). I even tried creating new text, but it still won't let me edit the transition. Help!

Copying And Pasting From Fireworks
Has anyone else noticed the copy and paste functionality has changed between Fireworks and Flash in the CS3 versions? Before I used to be able to simply CTRL+C out of Fireworks and CTRL+V onto the Flash stage and the graphic would retain it's original size and any effect such as a drop shadow (as long as the canvass in Fireworks was transparent). In the CS3 versions the same action results in a graphic 75% the original size and missing the effects layer (drop shadow). I have experimented with all of the "Paste Special" options, selecting flattened bitmap and "PNG with retained layers" but I can't get the pasted graphic to arrive on the Flash stage in it's original state.
To test this, try drawing a vector square in Fireworks 100 x 100 pixels, select, then copy and paste into Flash - the result is a symbol 75 x 75 pixels. How should I be using the copy and paste functions to get EXACTLY the graphic I need with drop shadow?

Problems Pasting Text
Hello all,
I just upgraded to CS3 and like most of the new features. However, there's one thing that's driving me nuts.
In AI 10 I was able to copy text then paste into a Flash 8 text box. No problems, maybe just some formatting. Now in CS3, the text pastes as a grouped drawing object w/ each letter broken up. I think I've looked at all the import prefs, nothing works.
Anyone know how to fix this?
I already need to spend time on learning AS3 and this stuff is killing me.

Cutting And Pasting .fla's Between Movies?
Hi there. I am a relative newbie to Flash MX, so this might be a silly question but....
I downloaded a nice preloader .fla from the Ultrashock site here, and I am wondering how I insert it into my main movie that I am working on.
I am used to using SWiSH, where you can just click on a 'scene' or a 'sprite' (which would be called a 'movieclip' in Flash), and doing a copy, after which you can paste the whole scene or movieclip into a whole new movie and it copies over all the graphics and action and everything.
Is there anything like this is Flash? I know you can select and copy frames, so would I have to do this for each layer? And what about the library objects? Do they get copied over too? Or can everything be stuffed into a 'folder' and that copy'n'pasted? Or a component?

I don't know how dumb this will sound but I'm a very new user to this whole flash thing. I found a flash clip from this site that I want to use, how can I get it to work on my site? Can I past the code into the html somewhere?? Also, I tried pasting some dhtml code for a scrolling text script into my html and it seemed to have removed most of my content, from the logo do pretty much all the text that I put in, the only thing that was left was a banner and the footnotes. ok one thing i have not been able to figure out in flash 5 and MX is how come you cannot copy and paste entire sections of actions script in one move.Seems at least I am only able to copy small sections and a time..why is this and is there a solution for copying lots of actionscript say from one button to another....took me ages for my last project cause of this.....
