i just wat to know if it is possible to do a shoppling cart/merchandise flash site without using seperate templates thats secure and totally contained in flash.. or at least goes to paypal after you've filled your shopping cart?

I am presently designing a web site completely in flash - and I need to connect paypal to the site...
I ve tried doing this through action script onRelease = function.....getURL (URL ADDRESS) - when I test the movie in swf -click the button...it instantly connects and goes to the Url address- However if I publish the movie in html- through internet explorer it doesn t work - click the button and nothing happens...why?
if anyone knows what i m doing wrong or knows of a better way of connecting paypal to an all flash web page - please let me know

When tested, the code seems to be alright. However when attempting to execute it appears that it tries to do something (the hard drive light starts to run), but then returns with an error saying it could not open the web site page.
Can anyone help me with this mystery, as I would like to get this button functioning by this weekend, since they are doing a fund raiser for animal orphanages, and we're passing out flyers for the web site.

Easy Update For XML On Flash Site
Ok, here's the problem.
Say I have a client. I've developed a flash calendar for them that is driven by xml.
Is there a way to have an admin section on the site that will allow them to edit that xml file?
This would be like a flash driven CMS. I'm not sure if there are examples out there because it's something that's hard to come by. I know Group 94 (sp?) has one.
Any ideas?

Here's the consept:
Simplified example in the pic1.jpg demonstrates what loads first - a piece of "street" with interesting stuff on it: pics, simple animation. You can zoom to them and start loading more swf and flv files.
I quess dragging would be a good way to move the "street" around.
When you click red door (1) loads what is seen in the pic2.jpg, more "streets" and stuff to zoom to.
If you clicked all the doors you would have what is seen in the pic3.jpg, a huge map-like thing.
So, how difficult is this to code? And once all the "streets" have loaded will it become too heavy to move and scale etc.? Or, could it be done so that only the clips that are seen are playing, others don't use CPU?

Couple Of Easy Uploading Images To Web Site Questions
Hi,
I want a user to upload an image to a web site and play a few different games dragging and dropping, colouring over etc. I can code these games easy but I know very little about interacting with databases and server side scripts.
I would like a user to be able to play the games with a loading bar only appearing once. Ideally the image would be loaded into the flash only while the flash movie is loaded and then saved to the server only if the user hits a submit button to permanently save their work.
Silly question 1: the user uploads their image. image is saved temp on the server. image is sent back to the swf to appear in game 1. in game 2 will the image be instantly loaded again due to user's cache or will their be loading time? Simulate Download in testing seems to have load times between each movie that contains the image.
whats the best way of having the same image appear multiple times with only one loader?

Help With PayPal
Hello - I am working on making some updates for a client who had his flash site designed by someone else. I don't have access to all the original flash files, only one of them.
I am simply trying to update the paypal link to go to a different email address and I can't seem to do it no matter what. When I do a search for the old email address, it shows up in the search results... under a symbol (and it says type component data), but in the actions - it is blank. And If I search and replace this old email with the new email. It says "found and replaced 1 item" - however, it has NOT replaced it. If I try again, it says the same thing.
Anyone can help? it would be greatly appreciated. Seems like such a simple thing, but I've been working on it for hours and just can't seem to isolate what to do.

HELP Using PayPal With Flash MX
My web site uses PayPal for orders and I am making a small "Build Your Own Computer" page in Flash MX so that users can customize computers. I need help with the following:
When the "Complete" button is pressed, I need Flash to insert the computer into a PayPal shopping cart with the name being a 128 character string that I will set and with the price being the total price. The only way I can think of how to do that is to have flash edit the hidden text on the HTML page.

I am encountering some problems when using the WA paypal snap in for my website. The tutorial shows that the final price is determine by the size of the shirt and the colour.
As for my item, the price and size is constant throughout and I only need the buyer to set the colour of the T shirt. Therefore I don't need a setprice.. Only need to set colour...

Paypal Component ?
hi all, i recently saw a paypal component on the macromedia site and have never dealt with e-commerce, with this component set would it be easy to add e-commerce and would it be secure ???

im creating a shoppingcart in flash and its compleate but im having problems conecting to the database can anyone help? if you want i could send you a copy of my file.
it contains
-1 Flash file
-1 Access database
-3 asp pages
-1 Html page
-8 images
