HTML Popup Window With Flash Movie In It
I'd like to make a popup window in an HTML page, and put a Flash movie in the popup window. I don't know any Javascript myself, so what I did is I found a popup window that works the way I want it to and copied and modified the source code. What I have now works, except the Flash movie is shifted to the right by 8 pixels. I made sure the window dimensions match the Flash movie dimensions, and the original popup I based mine on does not have the shift. At least I think it doesn't. I considered the possibility that they accounted for the shift by adding "bleed", but I doubt that's the case. Does anyone know how I can prevent the movie from being shifted?

i have a flash movie, and on loading, or at a certain frame, is there some way i can have a random popup html window (which will have small gifs of random sizes) open up automatically the size of the gif.

They will be random images or quotes in gif format from a selection uploaded to a folder called quotes.

p.s. i have a macromedia behaviour script that i found a while back, that creates a popup window of a chosen gif and resizes the window to the exact dimentions of teh gif. However this is for use within an html page, and doesnt consider the random factor....if i understood cding better, id probably be able to manipulate the code but i'm more of a doughnut...lol...any help or advise appreciated.

I am trying to get a popup window with a movie appear when a button is pressed in Flash. I have seen various tutorials and am able to get a popup window to apper witha given url.

The problem is when i feed it the URL of my movies, the quicktime icon appears but it doesn't load. I think i need to embed the movie in HTML but i'm not sure what to do. is there a way to have a movie pop up and progressivly load without using PHP.

Any help or code is greatly appreciated.

How To Make The Flash Movie "talk To" A New Popup Window?
Hi. I am having problem to make my flash movie talk to a new popup window.

In my flash movie, I let the user to "mix and match" their own character. And then, I want to provide a function so that when the user click on a button, there will be a popup new window to store their choices of pictures. So that they can keep the character and make a new one if they want.

All of my images are in jpeg or gif format (and I convert them into separate swf file). Is there any method to make this happen?

i made a popup windows using javascripts to contain my swf movie.
dimension of my popup window and swf movie is 660 by 520.
BUT when i view my swf movie in popup window, the movie is off center,
pretty 'move' to the lower right hand corner of the popup window....

Close Popup Window From Loaded Movie
I have an html link which launches a flash movie into a separate html window. The flash movie then loads another movie into level 10. from this level, I am trying to close the flash movie and its associated html page using the code:-

javascript:window.close();

This doesn't work. It closes level 10, but leaves level 0 and the html page intact. How can I resolve it?

Movie Clip Link To Popup Browser Window
This is so stupid, I'm embarrassed to post it.
I am editing a .fla file that I did not write. The navigation system uses movie clips acting as buttons that jump during a mouse over, and go to an external URL when onclick.

This works fine, except it loads in the parent window.
Ideally, I would like the window to open as a popup that I could control the functions of (size, placement....etc.).
At this point, I cant seem to even get it open in a (_blank) window without killing the mouse over "Jump" so I guess I'm really back at square one.

I know I'm missing something very simple here, but what are my options when using the lnk = "URL" command in the action script?

I've tried every variation I could think of but the closest I've come is getting the file to open in a new window, but then the parent goes to a 404 error with "undefined" completing the URL in the address bar.

Does anyone know how to go about this:

I have created a page (in word, also tried dreamweaver) from which visitors can go to my flash movie (or download Flash Player if they haven't got it yet etc). But when I test the link 'enter site' my movie shows up squeezed in the browser and not in its' own window (in right size). I want it to open in a pop-up like www.miniusa.com.
How should I do this?

I also would like to know how you let this window pop up neatly in the middle/centre of the screen and how you can disable the sizing option in the popup.

Any one who can help me with this?

I am trying to open another popup window from a movie dynamically loaded into the the flash home page movie.

(I.e html page - flash home movie - flash section movie dynamically loaded into home - open new popup)

I thought i could achieve this with the following code

}

but a get an run error.

Can anyone assist me?

How do you toggle control between a popup window and the main timeline?

I have a button that opens up a pop up window. The popup window is going to contain some text instructions. I would like to have the text instructions visible and allow the user to control a movie clip on the stage. Unfortunately, right now once the popup window appears, the user can no longer control the movie clip on the stage until they close the popup. I'm using MX 2004.

Here is the code I have on my button - this creates the popup window (I got this from some other postings):

I am trying to get a popup window to work in flash. Normally I can do it, but the button is embedded in a movieclip and it doesn't seem to work. I have Scene 1>nav(first movie clip)>one(second movie clip I usuall use this as code in flash:

In IE 7 the button is not clickable at all

I tried a few things with javascript but none of them worked. I dont want to have to edit the html, i want to just do this in actionscript.

What needs done:

When a button is clicked, I need to have a window appear, with options. When the user selects an option, the parent window will populate in certain text boxes with information from the popup window.

The problem:

How do I have a new window appear, then populate the parent form with information from the popup window?

Popup Same-window Assistance In Flash

I hope someone can assist me with a problem I am having with popup windows in flash. I have tried a couple of
ways, but it doesn't quite perform the way I would like it to.
What I am trying to do is have a page that has several
thumbnails...when one of them is clicked I would like it
to open a small JS window...then when another thumbnail is clicked, I want it to replace the previous flash movie in this same small JS window with the new one. Basically, this JS window remains open and does not fall down in taskbar.
Is there something I can place in my GetURL and in my html
document to get this kind of action?

Flash In Javascript PopUp Window.
Hi...

I'm trying to embed a flash music box into my webpage.

Unfortunately, as I started designing this page, I decide to work with tables instead of frames.
If I embed a flash into my socalled "header" a tablepart which is the top on all other pages too, every time I call up an new page, the music ofcourse starts over again.

Then I decided to use a javascript to call up a popup window, but as 80% of all users probably will be using a popup-window-killer, it doesn't seem of any use using this way of embedding music into the page.

Is there any other possibility of embedding it?

Problems With A Popup Window In Flash

I have trouble with popups in Flash in explorer. I use the popup command in the buttons always in the same way (I only change the url and the size). But in explorer (other than safari for instance) it now and then works or not. I tried a lot of things like swapping the not working buttons with working buttons and swapping the not working commands with working etc. But like i said I don';t see any consistency up untill now.

The command i use and that doesn't work is:

I am having as small issue, in my movie I am using the drop shadow
filter in Flash 8, so I must publish as v8, but in doing so my code that I use to open a pop up from flash does not work, is there a way to acheive this in flash 8?
