Importing Swf Into Loader
I have two swf files i want to import into a new fla file so I can load them in layers. I imported the first swf file with no problem. When I try to import the second file to the library, instead of a swf file i get a image and a symbol. not sure if it is a problem with the way I am importing the second swf or if it is a problem with how I created the second swf file. What I was expecting was to accually see the swf file in the libary like the first file I imported.

Thanks for any help

Importing Video - How Do You Resize The Video
Hi
I have a video i wish to import to a swf size of about 300 x 300 px (for use on a webpage) but when i import it its 650 x 400 px. I can not figure out how to make it smaller, as I can only find out how to trim/crop it which I don't want to do.

Cheers

P.S Is there any way to reduce the file size without causing a loss of sound sync when using an embedded swf when importing videos

Importing Video?
In Flash MX, it seems like I have been given the option to import video, but have it reference an external file...

recently when I've attempted to import video i haven't been given this file, it just automatically embedds it in the flash... how do i choose the option to use an external file??

thanks in advance

Importing Video
I have been trying to import an MPEG video into Flash MX - the video works well but the audio file can not be imported.

I have tried importing and exporting it from other video editing programmes but they also disgard the audio file.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Importing Video
I understand that when flash movie loads as a .exe from a cd, it loads all the information on the cd first, before it plays the first frame in the movie - this is my experience anyway.

I have a presentation with some video (the video is about 40mb) and it therefore takes a long time to load - in fact so long that when you access the cd from Windows Explorer nothing seems to happen for about 10 minutes (most people would have given up trying to read the presentation by then)- only then does the first frame in the movie appear.

Can I get around this problem?

Importing Video In MX
I have imported the video and have it loading in on another level of my main movie. My question is, how do i control the placement of the movie i am loading ontop of the first level? THANKS

Importing Video
I want to import some video to flash. I've no problem doing this but wanted some advice.

I've got the video in premier, so I can put any compressor on it really. Can anyone recommend which compressor to use - needs to be reasonably good quality.

Cheers,

James.

Importing Video
I’m putting together this CD Rom using Flash MX and I need to import a video file into the first page, but when I publish the movie it jumps and looks rubbish. I tried the link option but the movie is only visible if I export the flash movie as quicktime… and I need the final version to be an exe file….

Has anyone had this problem???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[F8] Importing Video
Hello,

Is there a script in Flash that will import a video, such as a .mpeg or .WMV file into Flash depending on a variable you send to it, using PHP perhaps?

You see we are playing around with building a Flash Portal site similar to the idea of Newgrounds.com, and we want to be able to import videos into .SWF files.

Thanks for any help,

Importing Video
Hello

I am wondering how do I import a video into Flash so that I can see all the keyframes instead of just one keyframe. I remember that in Flash 5, when I import the movie, a timeline would appear showing all the keyframes. Now, when I am using Flash 8, it would only show one keyframe.

Thanks In Advance

Importing Video
I am trying to import about a 2 minute Windows media file into Flash (it's a LONG story - but a project requirement) and am having an odd problem. The video is made up of two snippets, and afer the first piece, the audio track goes about 3 seconds out of synch with the video.

Suggestions?

Importing Video
ok i am developing a program in flash that includes a few videos.

These videos are pretty high quality, and since the program will be on CD i want to keep them high quality. They are also pretty long (up to about 7 minutes)

Now i was going to just import the movies in, and then to create controls just have a button layer and a progress bar layer... but everything is extremely slow because of the huge video.

Also, the video takes up thousands of frames (i have a framerate of 20).

My question- is there a different way to import video. Maybe i could just tell flash to read in from the video file, but would i lose controls?

Please just point me in the right direction, thanks

Importing Video
I have a movie with frame rate of 51fps, and a video file with 25 fps or so.
When importing/embeding video into fla, there is an option of determing the
frame rate of video: same as source; same as fla... Whatever option do i
choose, the video is faster in swf than it is in its mpeg format.

How can import video of 25 fps into flash with higher (51fps) and preserve
the normal speed of video file?

Thanks

Importing Video
Hello

I want to import a Quicktime file into my flash movie. I have gone to file and import and browsed to the file I wish to use. However, a new window then appears, asking me to confirm the location of the file, ie is it on my pc or somewhere else. This new window is huge, filling my screen. How do you get past this window. There is no submit/ok button as far as I can see.

Thanks

Importing Video
Hi,

I'm trying to import a windows media file into flash. It works fine ( i choose the "stream from flash communication server" option) however, once it's done the whole movie is put into 1 frame.

I want it to be an editable timeline, wehere i can see each frame. I can do it by embedding it into an swf but then the audio gets all messed up.

I'm using Flash Professional 8.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Importing Video
Have done this 100 times at least in the past, but not going to plan this time for some reason.

I am importing a WMV file to timeline, but no audio is coming in. It's been a while since I did this, but from memory, when importing video to the timeline, a seperate layer is automatically created to run the audio. And in that layer, audio can be controlled etc. This doesn't seem to be happening now however, and I am importing the video, but only getting one layer of video.. no audio.

Can anyone think what I might be missing here.

Many Thanks

Video Importing
Hi all
I imported a large .mov file to Flash and am now left with an uneditable video file-compiled clip in my .fla file and the .flv file. I need to add interactivity to my video. Ive tried everything and have come up with nothing.
Im really desperate as im working against a deadline here so apologies if my question is obvious, but any suggestions would be great.thank you!

Importing Video To CS4
I'm trying to import a short video f4v format to fla file using the import video in CS4. I'm able to browse to the f4v file select it and choose a playback skin. Then it seems to be doing something...get message "getting metadata" and a working display....then NOTHING. No error messages, nothing. I've tried to insert a new movie clip and then import video while on the mc stage...same thing. I've tried to Import to Library and nothing imports. What am I doing wrong, or are there some issues with this functionality in the program?

thanks in advance for your help!

I seem to be having a problem importing video into MX 2004. Whenever I do it, and go through the "quicktime wizard" and embed it into the document, it always seems to come out the audio is a little to fast for the video.

It's driving me nuts. I have tried exporting the audio seperate, tryed a different combanation of settings... nothing!

It's aways the same problem.

Can anyone help me here? I am loosing my mind. It was so much easier with Flash MX...

Importing Video
I was wondering if it is possible to import a video in flash with every frame of the movie on a flash frame so not 1 keyframe including the embedded movie.
I want to get parts of the movie out and make images of it.

Importing SWF Video
Hi,

Got a new question!

I have a flash project where I am loading an swf video file using loadMovie().
The swf video file (vid.swf) was created in Sorenson.
I am loading the movie inside an empty movieclip on my stage. It has an instance name of 'container'.
The movie clip is just over 2,000 frames.

How do I control the movie clip inside my project? Say for example I wanted to stop the movie (vid.swf) at frame 500.
I know I can control the empty movieclip by referring to its instance name, but not the actual vid.swf file.

How do I do this?!

Cheers guys.

Importing Video
Hello

When I import a quicktime movie I always get the message saying there's a problem with the sound so when the video comes in there's never any sound. If I make this quicktime into a flv the problem is solved but the video file is now 2 to 3 times larger in file size as well

Anyone have any suggestions for ways around this?

Thanks

XML - Video Loader
I have a very "newbie" question.

I have an xml document that has an xml document like this:

Code:
<TourXML>
<nfac>
<buildingName>Noel Fine Arts Center</buildingName>
<buildingType>Academic Building</buildingType>
<textDescription>Many plays, concerts, dance performances, and art shows draw crowds throughout the year to this cultural center of campus. In August 2003, construction started on a $26 million renovation and addition to the building. The project remodeled significant portions of the existing Fine Arts Center and constructed a 43,400 square-foot addition to provide appropriate teaching and rehearsal space for theater, dance, music, and art and design. The American Suzuki Institute is now physically integrated into the new fine arts facility. Deficiencies in the existing building were also addressed. The work was completed in the spring of 2005. Click here for additional information on the project.</textDescription>
<img>content/nfac/nfac.jpg</img>
<video url="rtmp://flash.uwsp.edu/LRCtour/LRCFinal" desc="LRC" />
</nfac>
</TourXML>
When I click a button, the movieclip opens up a with all this information on it. I would like to add video but I can figure out how to call a video to load in a video component from the xml.

Any ideas?

Instead I get an exclamation point with the text, "The audio from this file cannot be imported." The mov file plays fine in the quicktime player. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Please help, I am desperate.

Video Importing Problems
dear friends,
pls help me. its very urgent. its going to cost my job.

i have done a animation in 3d max and then converted it to mpeg video .mov format(quick time) ticking the best option for quality.i then imported the video mpeg file into flash mx. imported to library and then pulled to stage. its fine till here. but the problem is i m getting the video pixellated when i play the movie and even when i drag in the timeline.

also i need the background of the animation which i did in 3ds max as transparent when i import it to flash mx. can i get it as mpeg video format itself instead of png sequences (for the transparency)

thanking u in advance for the help for a newbie like me.

Importing Video--wassup?
After doing this countless times without a hitch, suddenly, when I try to import an .avi file, it only shows the final frame of the movie.

The entire audio plays--but only the LAST frame.

Also, though I default to 720 x 480 .avi videos, when I try to load, FlashMX says my movie is 754 x 540!

It will load ANY other kind of video: .mpg, .wmv, .mov. even .gif's and display/play them correctly--but it will no longer load a straight .avi.

Even tried uninstalling StudioMX and reinstalling it--but it's still weird.

Anyone encountered this kind of import prob in FlashMX?

Thanx a meg, for your attention,
M

Importing Video Files
I made a Flash at 18fps, I added a sound file to it, simple enough.

I imported an .avi file, which also ran at 18fps. I figured that the sound and the video would sync up, with them both running at the same speed, but for some reason the imported video played much faster than the sound file. The sound file was at the correct speed

Can anyone enlighten me as to why?

Importing Video In Actionscript?
Ok, basically I just want to import a video (.avi or similar) and let me have controll of it (pause/play ect) in actionscript without having the video file in the library - instead having it in the same folder as the flash file (so I can put my flash file on CDrom).

Can I do this with actionscript?

Importing Video Clips
I'm using flash 2004 for my website, and i've never used the importing video features b4.

Now i need to integrate some video clips on the site i would like to know the best way to do this, and what video formats work best, in respect to optimising the speed of download.

in short what do i do to import a video to a flash website?

cheers

[F8] Importing Video Into Flash?
Hi,

I want to import QuickTime video into Flash and was wondering the best way to do that. I would particularly like to see the control bar that you have with a QT, so that the user can control the video, without having to set up my own video control buttons. Can some one please offer some advice?

Thanks very much,

Importing Video With NO Compression
i want to place some large mpgs in flash 8, but i do not want flash to compress it, as flash 8 as far as i can tell has a horrible compression system with little control.

is there a way to simply link to an external file?

Importing Video Inside MC
Hi guys,

I have been trying to import video to a movie clip but it doesn't work. I import the video to the library but when I place the flv component in the mc timeline and add the correct path to the movie nothing happens. I can import video to a new fla (and I have tried all different options available to import). The FLV component is created and the path to the video is correct but it won't show. It only shows when I start a blank fla and import the video...why is this?. What am I doing wrong?.

Just to add that i want everything to work locally from my Mac. I don't want to import the vid from any server and i don't want to embed it in the timeline as there are quite a few videos...

The thing is, why does the importing work in a blank fla, in the main timeline but will not work in the timeline of a movie clip?. Am I missing something very obvious...?...please help me, I'm stuck...

thanks a lot

Importing Video As Frames
I'm having a bit of a problem, the thing is that I wish to import video as frames rather than having it to make a .flv file. The file I'm using a an .flv file itself, but I want to import and break into frames rather make a player for it. How should I go by this? Many thanks in advance.

Importing Video - Codec
haven't really ever imported much video to flash.

does anyone know if there is a way to get around the "the codec in the video file you are importing does not support editing"?

do i have to go back to the source or is there something i can do????

thanks.

Importing Video Into Flash
HI,
I am importing Video into flash, i was wondering if i can import a video that has already been encoded? Or is it better to use uncompressed video when importing.
If it is better to import a compressed video, which codec should i use first to compress the video?
Thanks,
L.
