Export Frame For Classes In Publish Settings Flash Action Script Settings
My preloader doesn't load until 100KB into the movie
and I figured out it's because it's loading my components
(I'm using 3 instances of a Media Display and of a Media Controller)
in the first frame.
So I changed the Flash ActionScript Settings (in the Publish Settings)
to Export Frame for Classes 2
which made the first frame much lighter -
an acceptable 10K
BUT that made my components act very badly.

Please help!

Publish Preview, Publish Settings...
Greetings.
I have a bar that runs the top of my movie. I noticed that in publish preview the bar is cut in half from the top whilst in test movie I have the whole bar. Is there a way to better match up my movie between the two. In Dreamweaver I can set all boarders to 0 but I would like an accurate view of my movie in Flash publish preview.
All in all I want my Flash document to fit inside a standard browser.
Any ideas?

Hello - I have a movie I've finished and I need to publish it to a web via FrontPage. I'm clicking on "publish setting", choosing HTML, clicking PUBLISH and the bar goes across like it's publishing, but I don't see any HTML page. Can I designate where this file supposedly goes? How do I find it?

I'm trying to publish a Flash flie (amovie.swf) that loads a seperate Flash movie (bmovie.swf) onto one of it's layers. The problem is, the Publish produces a Flash Projector file. The movie that gets referenced/loaded into the first is targeted by the name of bmovie.swf. Do I need to name this movie "bmovie projector" instead? How will this effect a Windows format?

say my actual movie is 761x598 pixels and when i try to publish it its pushed off to the left and still has the background border around it. i dont want any border from top to bottom. the sides dont really matter due to the with of the movie. it just wont center unless i put it at 100% then yet it STILL has the border around it. any ideas?

When I publish, I don't want the .swf file to allow the user to resize the window, or have any menus at the top. Basically, give the user no control other than to watch the movie.

OK, i have seen sites like this before so i know it can be done but i dont know how... I want my splash screen to appear full screen then after so many seconds, or after a button is pressed for my main movie to load in a smaller window. i want this window to be central and not resizable. Ive looked in the flash (mx by the way) publish settings but there doesnt seem to be a great deal there... do i need to set in my .html or what?

i just made a basic flash site and noticed that when I adjust my screen settings to 800x600 the site loses a lot of quality.

I created my site when my pc had a screen area of 1024x768.

What publish settings do I use to make the site look best at either setting?

Publish Settings - What Is It That You Use?
Trying to work out what's the publish settings that makes the movie fit into the browser %100 and no scrollbars whatso ever. I make the flash movie at 800 width and 450 hieght in pixels.

What settings do you use to make it so that it always fits into the browser area so that if the viewer has more menu's in the IE like the back buttons, refresh..ect like how you can drag the menu in IE down it screws up the flash size in the browser again?
Alot of people must have IE or whatever browsers taking up differant areas of room in the top IE menu bit.

But it screws up when you change the IE browser menu drag it down or up or something.

I then do into the html and put this bit in there!!

Here is a few questions I have about the publish settings

How do you get rid of the border spacing. Meaning even though I have my movie set to 100 percent and show all, the movie still has about a half inch of browser space. I think there is a way to fix this border thing with the some javascript or FS Command, but I forget where I saw the information anyone know?

Transperant windowless- I can't seem to get this working either. My movie inside Dreamweaver still has the background from the Flash movie, i want to get rid of it, how?

Netscape problem- When I view the html page that Flash spits out, no Dreamweaver, Netscape 7.1 will crop most of the page strangest thing I have ever seen, now if I use Dreamweaver as the final publish it doesn't crop but the scaling gets messed up it wont scale my movie correctly, its a catch 22. I know this sounds like I don't know what I am doing, and maybe I don't but I have been trying to figure this out all day and have gotten nowhere fast, could someone please help me with this

Publish Settings On Mac And PC
Whenever I open an .fla that was created on a Mac on a PC, or visa versa, I have to edit the publish path before I can publish it.

A Mac needs colons instead of slashes for folder paths and both systems refuse to recognize each others syntax.

Is there a way I can get one of the OS's to recognize both?

does any one know why i can't load a V6 external swf into a V8 main swf?

it not as simple as that though, as it seems to load when it is live, but not when i run it locally. As you can understand this is not good for a flowing work process!

If i change the V6 to V8 it loads locally, but i loose the functionality of the original code!

I am a teacher and have just produced Flash products with my A level students.

As students have created their work, they have continually tested it by going to Test Movie, thus producing the desired results.

The students have to include the .swf file rather than the .fla in their final work. However, opening the .swf has resulted in white borders appearing around their work. I have no idea how to get rid of these borders. In one case it has a seriously detrimental effect on the work.

I have tried changing Publish Settings but with no success:-( Student work is all 1024 x 768, as specified by the exam board. How do I get the .swf to open exactly as they do when Test Movie is selected?

Any tips? (They don't really have time to go back and change it all!)

[CS3] Publish Settings
I keep publishing my .swf files with the flash player 9 settings and then when I try to view my .swf file nothing pops up. I have downloaded flash player 9 several times and it still does not work when trying to view. When I try to bring to file up it says flash player 7. I have tried viewing this on multiple computers and no matter if I save the .swf as flash player 7 or 9 I cannot view it. I am working on this project for another person please help.

When you go to File->Publish Settings, there are these options...

1. Protect from import (enabled the Password text field).
2. Load Order: (Drop down menu with Bottom Up as default, or Top Down)

I'm most interested to know what load order does...

Also, with protect from import, does this require that someone knows my password when they are trying to decompile my movie?

Cs3 Publish Settings
CS3 is adding a bunch of js code and an extra file when I publish. Most of my client reviews are just simple pages that are published to my desktop then dropped in my ftp utility (transmit) and uploaded to my client review site. In 8 this was very easy, in CS3 all this extra js means more work for me to make simple presentations.

Any ideas on how to turn off this feature. I've checked preferences and looked everywhere. About the only option I have to to build an HTML page from scratch which takes much more time than just hitting publish then dragging the swf and the html into the transmit widget.

In 8 when I was working on quick pages for client approval I'd simply publish to the desktop then use my FTP program (transmit) to quickly put up very simple pages that contained only the embedded swf file for review. Sometimes I'd even email these files with the swf embedded in the e-mail.

With CS3 there's a bunch of extra code that's thrown in that looks like a flash player sniffer and a file called AC_RunActiveContent.js that's created. I'd love to eliminate all this extra junk so I didn't have to go in to the html and re-edit the file for these simple previews. Unless all the files, the html, the js, and the swf, are in their own folder there are JS errors in the page when you try to open it up in the browser.

I know that Adobe is trying to prevent browser errors and the like, but I would rather be in control of this from the start rather than having to go in and re-edit things. I've been all through the preferences and can't find a way to turn this off. Does anybody have a clue?

I am trying to publish my flash site, and upload it to a server. The site depends on images that are stored in a directory structure kept local with the site. When I run the published HTML file locally on my laptop, it works fine and all of the images load. However, when I upload the site/directory structure up to the server, none of the images will load. Any Ideas what could possibly cause this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys, well, 2 questions, I have a movie of 1024 x 768 with a gradient background, idea here it's to have that movie as a background of the entire site, and full window size, this is, if the size of the windows is 1024 x 768 will fill that entire space, same thing if it's bigger, now I have a white border around that movie, how can I fix that, how can I fill the entire browser window without that withe border?, the other thing is related to this one, in that movie I'll have an empty movie clip to call another movie clip that one will be the main interface with a fixed size of 984 x 608 if the background will be changing it's size in order to fill the browser window this will affect the size of the interface box?, I need the box at the fixed size ( and all the elements inside, even if are another movie clips ), is this possible to achieve? any idea how?

I am having some problems publishing a movie when I run the movie off the timeline in flash all the graphics and images appear to be correct, but when I try and publish or export the file, pieces of individual graphics are cut out and distorted.... I'm trying to set a relative pathname to publish to a separate folder for final delivery, but it keeps telling me the directory doesn't exist.

I've quadrupal checked my pathname and tried several variations of path syntax.

Here's what I have now

Hi all,

i got the following problem:

I have a scene with some graphics or clips that go outside the scene, and published with the standard setings to a SWF.

When i load this external SWF into a holder it shows everything outside my scene aswell... So when i use a panoramic picture, it will show the complete picture that is 5 times the size of my scene in the external SWF...

If i open the external swf, it doesnt show all the stuff outside the scene... That only happens when i load it into a holder on my main page....

If i delete the graphics and clips outside my scene and publish it like that, it will load into the holder nicely... SO my holder is correct, the sizes are ok, both from my external SWF as the holder. So that isnt the reason!

I have been searching for some kind of solution for days now, and i am getting desperate...

PUBLISH SETTINGS Question
My site looks great but there is a border on each side of it when it's on the web. The settings I use are: 100 percent-default show all. When I use the setting: exact fit, it stretches everything. Is there a setting that will make my site the exact same size as the browser window without stretching everything? Thanks in advance!

Please Help:publish Settings Problem
I have a dreamweaver site for which I've created a flash intro for the index.html. At first I tried to upload the movie without going through the publishing stage (because I stupidly didn't know I had to do this in addition to "export movie") Anyway, the movie played but crapped out at the very end, freezing before it was finished. Then I discovered the whole publishing thing in my flash book. So I figure my skipping this step probably had something to do with it. But when I tried to "publish settings" and "publish" I get this window telling me that the program can't publish because it can't access the drive - it's locked? What does this mean? I have tried placing the flash file on the desktop, and then in the site folder, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I even checked my hard drive to see if there was any security thing on it, and there isn't. This doesn't make any sense to me. thanks in advance for any advice!

If I have an exe file that loads an swf into it. Will the end user need flash? I saved my swf out as a flash 6 compressed file but when I play the exe that loads that swf it plays like crap (buttons start to perform release actions on rollovers, audio skips, etc.). When I save it as a flash 5 with no compression it works fine.Does this have something to do with using the compression setting under publish settings or does the end user need the flash player even though it is an exe file that loads an swf?
