On my site i have some flash movies. They work fine on my PC, and a visitor said they work, but i tried it in school and at some friends houses with no sucess.
Does anyone know what the problem could be with it?
I made them in flash 6 or MX and they have uploaded correctly, it's not something like c:mysitemymovie.swf it's http://www.geocities.com/drzxfukoigdrmoda/welcome.swf (it is the acctual locatin, but it doesnt load if you just click the link.
and nothing works on any other pc's...
Could it be their version of the flash player? I don't think it's the script because it plays for me.

Hi,
Im pretty new to Flash and am in the process of designing my own website.
I've worked through many tutorials on designing the site (buttons etc) but now im getting close to putting it live on the web as it were, I dont know how to and cant seem to find any info on doing so.
Obviously I need a domain name which I have, i've been told something about hosting but not sure what it means, and then also how do I get it from my computer to the web?
Any info guys much appreicated.

Putting My FLASH Site On The NET?
I have made my flash movie/site, its allll done. Now i want to post it on the net. A domain and host are not the problem. i have made the first page of my site in dreamweaver with a link to my flash site, but when you click it, it just wants to save the movie file to disk... what do i do and am i using the right FLASH file?

My question is more dreamweaver related. I have finally put my flash site into dreamweaver. I have defined the site and put in the server information. In the files window i i went to "put files" and uploaded all the files to remote server. The site is not yet on the net. What is it i have to do next? or what is it that im not doing?

Putting Flash Intro On Site?

I just finished a flash intro and I want to put it on my site. I hit "File->Publish Preview->Default-(HTML) F12" and then when the movie started playing I hit "View Source" and copied the <OBJECT></OBJECT> and pasted it into my site at the right place. Now the problem is when I go to my site "http://www.angelfire.com/ak5/wwsclan" the movie takes forever to load, even the loader that I made doesn't show. I've made this thing work before on my other sites, but I forgot how to do it. I think I skipped a step. So if any of you can tell me what I did wrong it would be greatly apreciated. Thx... later...
Putting The Site Together Hopefully The Final Step :)

So I'm almost done with this site. I need a little more help to arrange everything together because this is way past my knowledge.
So Far I have :
A main timeline into which are loaded different MCs. Those MCs are the content of my site. The main timeline contains static graphic elements, with a "blank" space where I load the MCs.
At the moment, when testing the movie, The main timeline will display and the user will have to click on a menu item in order to load the content. otherwise, there will always be this huge "blank" space.
Now, I have 2 MCs that need to be played before everything. They are the "instructions" and the "introduction" MCs. So basically, when the main timeline loads, the "instruction" MC has to start playing automatically. I put a stop(); on the last frame of this MC and also a button to play the next MCs : the "introduction".
So the user will click on the "next" button and the introduction will play. I want it, after it has done playing, to jump right away to another MCs that will be used as a nice design to fill up the "blank" while the user doesn't access the content of the site.
I use the attachmovie method to load the MCs.
The biggest difficulty I see is to avoid conflict between the instruction and introduction MCs and the "nice design" Mc.
Frankly I'm baffled and so very tired... Sorry if I seem lazy... As always your help is precious.

Putting Everything On A CD
Im having a problem with the path issue. Can anyone help me set the path correctly. Putting It All Together...?
The image link below is to give you the visual example of my chosen project. I will have a next button and a back button. The Flash show will begin with fall. Fall will have colored leaves falling, pumpkins glowing, etc. Winter will have wind blowing, snow falling, etc. Spring will have flowers blooming...etc. Summer will have children playing and a "June Bug" flying. My problem is this...I will create them each individually -> a new stage (with BG image) for each with all of the effects. How do I bring it all together into one Flash show? What button calls could I use to change (fade out/in transition between scenes) between the scenes. I email my instructor but I believe she is out of town this weekend. I don't really need help putting together the individual scene just bringing them all together. Thanks in advance!

We are working on an interactive myster project and are trying to put it all together. We have the scenes made as seperate swf files. Now we want to put them together in a master flash file where buttons will go to scene to scene (with a preloader, our different scenes are quite large) can someone please help?

Putting 2 And 2 Together...
I've actually gotten the external swf to load. ( i erased the other duplicate post and edited the title of this one). It appears when tested. But I dont want it to appear, I want to pass it into a moviematerial. I have the moviematerial created as well as the plane. Am I missing something? Do I need to load it into the library somehow? Do i need to pass the linkage name of the swf instead? I am not really sure how to bridge the gap here. Once again, any help would be wonderful. Oh, and the code is posted below.

My friend and I are making a yearbook cd for our school and we want to put flash on there but we came into a problem. We made the flash and it is complete but when your linking one swf to another you have to put the location of the other swf. And since we made it on the hard drive, we had to put the link as C:........ but then we have to burn the CD and it is linked to the hard drive so of course its not going to work. So the question is there a standard you can put like a variable (X) or something in flash that it can specify which drive. Now we could do D:...... But then it would only work on D: CDROM drives, not E:,F:, ect. Well, let me know if you have any anwsers for our question. Thanks Alot.

Ok here is the problem. I want to take seperate variables and put them together...Ex.

MyPic=Sec+NUM;
THen I want to be able to use the MyPic Variable To Pass through a function..
I tried making the values strings and putting them together that way and then using the eval to make them one.
Putting It Together Problem...
As I said in my other post is that im making scene to explain condensation. In the scene there is a bunsin burner burning the glass bowl of water making it boil (all vector based) then the steam rises it hits the metal sheet creating the condensation. The problem im having is were I would click on the arrow which describes the steam rising, ive made into a movie clip, then what ive done is created a mask over a gradient square and motion tweened the box to go over the arrow to make it look like the arrow is filling up.
But when ive finished with this movie and go back to scene 1, ive projected it and nothing happens the arrow is not there, ive tried dragging it on and that doesnt work, but the movie works when in the library, this is most probably got a simple solution but cant get my head around it.
Any suggestions?

The question I have is very opinion based I think due to the fact it's about selecting one program as the "master program". I am new to flash but have picked it rather quick and like it. I see that it is a good way to add to your HTML site, make a whole site with, or make stand alone movies. However am I not understanding is there a final program I should be using to combine my HTML with the flash? I also use adobe photoshop 7 as well as image ready. I was told that my design and layout could be done in PS and IR and flash elements could be added there? Any help would be welcome!
